@@Kapilan.i use the mechanical pencil erasers and when i run out i use a block eraser. if you want mechanical pencil eraser refills, it usually comes with a set of papermate pens and lead refills.
I have a 1970 Faber Castell Aviator DC. Its tip is also retractable. There's a chrome square-shaped button on the side, which when pressed, retracts the entire shaft. The entire pen is metal. Not a speck of plastic in it! Brushed auminium barrel with chrome accents, 3-tined brass dispenser, brass dispenser ring, steel shaft, steel eraser holder, chrome eraser-cap. I found it in my grandpa's house. He used it during his working years. I searched for it online to get more info. It's not available for sale now. Ebay prices are as high as $300
@@NasNewComer that's the gauge of the lead in MM 0.3MM 0.5MM etc. The wider the gauge, the thicker the line, I spend most my time using the 0.5 and 0.9
The lead weight setting you are referring to is the hardness indicator, which doesn’t change the properties of the lead you are writing with, it is an indicator for when you switch out your lead to different hardness (B, HB, H, etc). It is for reminding you what lead you already put in. Great video though!
To the ones thinking of buying this mechanical pencil After daily use the body tends to have black marks/holes Thinking the mechanical pencil is all metal doesn't mean it won't break, the plastic barrel which holds both the body and the grip may break due to falling/over torqueing it.
i have both the graph 1000 and the Orenz Nero id say the graph 1000 and its cousin Graph 1000 Pro is better for drawing, while the latter nero for shading
I use this one too one problem I usually encounter with mechanical pencils when you use it in long terms is that the grip part either slips or when your finger grips it for hours it creates friction on your fingers creating like a scab or thick hard skin when the pencil is in contact the most or you put most pressure on. But when I started using this one it did lessened that problem if not lessened to none. The grip part is very helpful if your dealing with the same problem as I am I recommend this type of mechanical pencil.
This is my EDC pencil for writing. Love it, though, I wound up sliding a piece of paper under the rubber for the finger grips to get them to stick up a little better. Much more comfortable for longer writing sessions.
just an fyi not fully metal a great pencil but right under the grip is a chunk of plastic atleast on the reg .7 blue one and it will break if not taken care of and is susceptible to being sheared
Its expensive for a pencil, but its not a life shattering amount, I got one for £15 new on sale on amazon, sure potentially overpriced but for a good pencil that appears to be invincible I'm not gonna cry over a few extra quid. I still like a wooden pencil better than anything else thought tbh
You're turning the lead hardness indicador wrong. That could damage or break your pencil. You got to unscrew the tip and grip, so the indicador will spin freely, then screw it back in once the indicador is on the hardness you want to secure it
I was going to comment about this because if other people see the video and try it then it would damage theirs too. I bought mine at an art store and there was no warning that this could break the pencil so it was a while before I learned.
@@snap2cb777 no this does not affect anything the guy in the video is just having the tip loose and turning the grip this doesn't damage or affect anything on the pencil, the grip is supposed to spin freely once the tip is lightly unscrewed.
@@snap2cb777 the grip part is free to rotate even if its screwed tightly because its only friction fit by the tip so i dont think it could break even if you rotated the grip while its tight
@@sociallyinept01 rotating it while it’s tight weakens the plastic barrel underneath causing a seam line that over time snaps the barrel, I don’t see why you commented if you didn’t realise this is what we were talking about, it only takes a little bit of overuse to break the plastic barrel which is why it’s actually important that you make sure you loosen it.
This graphgear is only costs a couple dollars more and is of much higher quality. Ive gone through 4 diff models of kuru togas and not one lasted me a month. It can only handle 2 or 3 pieces of lead before it gets jammed. The lead constantly breaks. Im pretty sure most if not all versions are plastic. Its not weighted or weighted badly. If you do get it to write, it can be a smooth experience with quality lead, but the graphgear/rotring/orenz/staedtlers are one level above imo.
I absolutely love this pencil, especially the 0.3mm which I found just perfect for making first sketches for drawing. I bought extra 4H & HB lead refills and erasers at almost $30 for all three refills, with the GraphGear 1000 set means almost $60 in total lol lol lol lol

it is pronounced "Led." ✌️ also this pencil is part metal.. you can see plastic and rubber parts in various shots in your video 👍👍 i broke my first on day one, at work in a cabinet shop. good pencils though!

I love this pencil. Except it has this plastic line between the grip and the shaft that is VERY easy to break. I've dropped it off of my desk onto a carpet floor and it's broken.
Honestly, i don't like metalic mechanical pencils, they are usually too thing and also too heavy. My recently discovered favourite, as a proffesional artist, is the lamy safari. But hey, not everyone's hands are the same!
Camlin techno mechanical pencil is best costs Rs100 with metallic body and premium feel. I have 11 nos 0.7 mm and 4 nos 0.5 mm. This pencil is now rare and you wont find it easily.
I have the 500 7.mm the entire graphgear 1000 set of 5 pencils, and the small one you can get at most stores. I can’t remember what it’s called though.
Whats with the spinning hardness indicator? Does it hold different types of lead at the same time and you can switch between them or is that just so you know what lead you have in it?
It’s just so you know what lead you have in it. I only use HB so it’s not very useful to me, but all the same it’s cool. I have the entire set and highly recommend it. My favorite is the .4mm for the art I do on my channel, but I think the . 7 mm is the best starting pencil
