I like the split sink. One side for washing and the other side for rinsing. If you use a basin in a farm sink to divide it then you have to store that container.
They make really cool collapsible sink bins and racks. Takes up practically no space. And, with a farm sink you can wash air fryer and instant pot pots. JMHO
Had the pleasure of meeting Josh today at the Grand Rapids RV Show. Attended specifically to check this unit out. You can’t go wrong with either the Flagstaff or Rockwood model. Thanks for taking the time to say hi. Keep up the good work of keeping us well informed Josh. We really appreciate all you do.
Double sink vs farm sink, bathroom size, Yada, Yada, yada... I'm flexible, as long as it rock solid, which it is.. I just know that my wife absolutely loves ours and she couldn't be happier!! I'm good with that!!
This unit and the Cougar 22 mls are at the top of this list. I like that you can now get the power package on this floorplan. I do think the tv could be placed lower. Thanks for your videos, Josh.
They should make these 3 adjustments: 1. Extend the counter-top surface all the way from the left of the stove-top to the curtain, instead of having that tiny little flip-up portion that's set at a different level, and round off the counter top just by the curtain for easier access to the side of the bed. 2. Move the TV set down, so that it is located on a swivel bracket mounted just above the extended counter-top surface - that would allow for a better 'no neck-wrecker' viewing angle from either the theater seats / dinette / hideaway bed, as well as from the main bedroom area as well. 3. Additional kitchen cabinets could then be placed in the space originally occupied by the TV box frame, and the cabinet to the left of the stove (where the fireplace unit is located) could then be moved outward and in line with the extended counter top, giving you quite a bit more storage area just above the fireplace unit - and even behind it as well if the fireplace unit was mounted on a opening cabinet door - which would also eliminate that separate little cabinet door just above the fireplace unit.
It’s already sort of hard to get out of the bed. Space is tight on the sides, the high TV is already easy to bump into coming out on that side, and the slide out blocks the bed exit on the left, so you have to crawl/slide down to the foot and stand up there.
We had a 2109s & really liked it a lot. I love this slightly-bigger version, but I WISH they would move the entry door to the other side of the kitchen & make the bathroom/shower bigger, on both models. We made due with the bathroom for a few years, but it was our #1 reason for upgrading.
Josh, thanks for trying to educate your audience on towing specifications. My tundra technically should tow my jayco with no issues but my cargo capacity is about 1,350. My tongue weight is about 800, so 550 left. I have a fiberglass shell and bedslide so that’s a few hundred pounds, minimum. That leaves 220, and two adults are easily over 300, so we’re over my cargo capacity with no luggage and no fuel wright. 38 gallons of fuel, etc, thanks
Josh, I have a ‘22, bought after your review, so here’s 2cents. Double sink does have a plastic drip drain over one bowl. I found a cutting board that converts the other bowl into counterspace when not using water. A similar size farm sink is too small for much tub. Wish I had the new pop-up outlets. The gauze-like curtains hung between the bed and living area should be made impervious to light. The small fan over the bed needs a better rain cover, like the Maxxaire. Almost any rain, if it is open, splashes into the bed. TV tables and-or storage cubes can sub for the included table (which can store behind the seating in the back of the slide out) with a lot better entry and exit when seated to eat on the sofa/recliners. The old school cake cover lighting over the seating must go, unless you are a head-banger. It looks bad and should not be at eye level. There was more storage with the prior 31” TV and fireplace arrangements for remotes, DVDs, books, and nothing is going skidding off a skinny countertop. The higher fireplace in ‘21-22 is pleasant and provides plenty of heat and atmosphere. There’s a lot of space in the pass through storage, and the under bed chest storage is a good DIY location for lithium batteries vs the tongue. The luan/plywood under the horizontal bedside carpet over the pass through is easy to crack if you put weight on it. It needs to be thicker, ~5/16” vs 3/16” and better reinforced. Bonus: there is just barely enough room to carefully lay the 12V refrigerator on the floor to service it, even in road mode! Let me know if someone finds a place to hang toilet paper in the BR. 😅
First, congrats on the great camper! Nextly... would you mind dropping me a review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review in return for the helping hand? It'll cost you nothing and I'd sure appreciate it! :) Also.. THANK YOU for all this feedback. LOVE input from real owners. This is awesome! :)
We have a 2021 2109s and it has the same bathroom layout. I found a toilet paper holder that slides over the cabinet door and hangs the TP vertically. I put it on the inside of the cabinet door and there's plenty of room to shut the cabinet with a full roll. Just remember to open the cabinet before you sit and sh*t, or your knees may prevent you from accessing the TP comfortably! I bought the TP holder we use at our local Menard's. I am really considering trading for this package or the Wildwood Heritage Glen 19 rbhl - my in-laws bought the Salem version of that camper last year and the theater seats are calling my name.... and my butt.... yelling, screaming "buy me!!".😁
I really like this unit. If one was available I would have gotten it over my 2104S. Bathroom thoughts. It is actually larger than it appears. I’m a couple inches shorter than you are quite a few wider. No space issues using the bathroom or getting dressed in it. The shower could use a couple inches of room but it works. I would like the doors to open wider or have detent to hold them open. Nothing more interesting the having a door make a special visit while getting in or out of the shower. Kitchen sink. Overall I really like farm sinks. But in a camper a split sink is really better to save water. Another great video. Thanks again.
I wish you were closer to us. To follow up from a comment on a different video. Whenever it was time for me to buy a camper, I'd buy it from you. You are always giving me the most clear cut information for most of the campers I'm looking at. Thanks for your dedication to the channel.
We have 20+ stores spread around and have a nearly nationwide network of mobile service solutions now so even if we deliver an RV to you we can still assist you!
We own the 2022 version of this camper and I would only want the two sided sink to wash in one side and rinse on the other. The sinks in this camper are very nice and I can wash all my pans without needing additional room. We have enjoyed cooking in this camper very much because of the larger oven and cleaning is easy because of the nice sized sinks. This camper is amazing and is the best purchase we’ve ever made! Our previous camper had the smaller oven and smaller sinks - we just went out for dinner for the 18 years we owned the camper. 😂
For a small trailer I like it except for the tv size. My main entertainment is my tv, and i need it to be big enough to forget the outside world. I would pit serious miles on that theater sofa! But roomy for the smallest I would tolerate. Farm sink with a plastic soaking tub to fit inside but take out when needed is definitely the way to go! How else do you wash your cookie sheet? And still soak your utensils? Removable plastic bin.😀👍
I feel the same on the sink concept though some folks just like the 2nd basin Wonder if you wouldn't prefer cougar's version of this.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0WWJ2Xg5g8Q.html
"Bathroom can be pretty tight". Hold my beer! The 21' Class C RV I've lived in, full-time, for 20 years has a rear bath floor space of 2'x2'. Facing rearward you're facing a big non-opening window, turn 90 degrees you're facing the 24"x30" shower stall, turn another 90 degrees and that's the (pocket) door, and another 90 and you're facing the toilet (behind the toilet is a large wardrobe). So the bathroom in the 2205S (which is my pick) is like a mansion. Can't wait to get it.
This looks like a great unit. I know that most ppl want a sink in the bathroom, but I really don't care one way or the other. Why couldn't they have an option of no sink, move the shower horizontal & then you could have more room for the toilet for us "fluffy" ppl, just a wild suggestion. As always, thanks for the videos!!
They shoulda brought the TV down, and put a narrow cabinet above. Or, I'd get rid of the box around the TV to upgrade to a bigger one. And the narrow counter should've been one piece with the kitchen.
I like this layout. It has a similar feel to the Cougar 22MLS et all, but with the kitchen next to the door, which I like. I prefer a farm style sink, as I can always convert it with a removable tub. I sure hope a full u dinette is an option in this. Hubby and I do most of our TV watching from bed when we're camping so lthe TV placement is great for our needs.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Oh yeah. You're absolutely right, now that I take a closer look. We're juggling between the Cougar 22MLS (LOVE the windows and like that it has both a dinette and theater seating, but do NOT like that it's still got floor vents), the Rockwood 2207 with Murphy Bed (just wish the windows were larger) and the Rockwood 2206S (LOVE the front kitchen/read bedroom, just hoping they come out with a solution for travel access to the bathroom). We're going to spend this camping season trying to whittle down our priorities (windows/read bedroom/dinette+seating). Thanks for all you do!
@@johnbarbcampingvibesargrow4329 you never know is the thing. Next week they might magically announce some new thing But with the popularity of the 2516S I don't see it changing
Lite Brites -- haha my mom hated it, absolutely hated it - too many little pieces. I like this trailer. Thanks Josh for showing road mode. I like the split sinks, I also like the non inside square corner/edged ones, curved inside edges are much easier to clean. The bathroom is ehhhh -- there again I spend less time in bathrooms than anywhere else.
Nice review, I have a 2022 2205s, and I learned some things from watching your video. We traded up from a GeoPro 19QB to this camper and we love it, it’s a great couples camper, and has everything that we were looking for, like the “north-south” full size queen. There are nice upgrades in the camper relative to the ‘22 model, and kudos to Rockwood for that. We both actually like the shower !
Yo Josh! Who’s burley muscle t-shirt arms are shooting this video? 🤔 A full bed is okay for them young lovebirds, but a true queen like this is a must for us middle aged ‘seasoned’ couples who need solid sleep😉 Love your reviews! Thank you!
Split sink! If I have something too big, like the griddle, I will just wash it with the outside shower...I have done that and it worked great! Split sink allows one side for dirty dishes and the other side for cleaning said dishes. Those are just my thoughts...Great video!
Only thing to keep in mind - some places don't allow you to intentionally put grey water (like dish water) on the ground. But yeah - that can work well for big stuff outside
We have the 2022 22FBS. 💙 Love the size and it is easy to tow with our 3/4 ton truck. I would prefer the single basin sink. We have the spilt sink and it is hard to wash pots and pans. We also noticed the bumper storage doesn’t fit our sewer hose. Even better if the front windshield had a black out shade. 😎
Fav floor plan cause you can get to everything with the slide closed. However, would like one big sink and would like the counter to where the fireplace is it come out off the wall so the top is the same width the whole way across
Other than the small bathroom with radius shower this is an AWESOME couple’s camper full of quality standard features👍I would never suggest to eliminate a bathroom sink and have to wash my hands, brush my teeth and shave in the kitchen sink🤮also, the new standard solar package and 12V TV is an awesome addition for off grid camping👍
@@JoshtheRVNerd Sure wish the 12V TV and solar were standard on early 2021 models for off grid camping. I had to buy a 14” 12V TV for a windy rainy day or cold night and a portable suitcase solar panel🙁
Here goes since you asked. Prefer the split sink. Above the bed needs the large fan also just to help with condensation issues. Big enough Television for me. Leave the rest. Really nice setup great 👍 review grade A-. Thanks uncle Nerd.
Nice interior colours. When I see the word : "Lite" , to me it means falling apart in it's future. Usually the floor or roof becomes a sagging problem in a few years.
Farm sink. If you need a space to wash and rinse, they make really cool collapsible sink bins and racks now. They take up practically no space. With a farm sink you can easily wash air fryer, instant pot pots, etc. Split sinks are very limiting to it's usage.
Wife says split sink for what it's worth. Watching for your 2023 2511s review when you get one in. Had 2022 2205s but upgraded to 2023 2511s for bathroom and we really love the slide-out closet in the bedroom. Thanks for the video, great as always.
Sad day at our RV show in RVA. I went to the Bish’s section and asked them where is Josh. They never heard of you. Lol. Told them to look you up on RU-vid
Definitely a fan of split sinks, Josh. Every use of a farm sink requires rinsing the entire sink and drying the entire sink. Super tedious! Impossible to keep a farm sink looking good. I keep a tub in mine which defeats the purpose. In three years full-time I haven’t found I needed to use it in full size mode - ever.
Coachmen 192rbs? 22” oven. I like this floor plan with more kitchen counter and the electric fireplace heater. It seems a bit more open. Bath looks the same. I also like the open area next to the bed. Wish the 192 did that, those side cabinets are “elbow breakers”
Double-sink is more versatile. You can have one sink, and one compartment that stays dry. If it was a farm sink, I'd change it out or install a smaller single sink.
1) Rockstaff should consider replacing the fake fireplace with another cabinet, extending the front of the narrow countertop and adding a larger pop-up surface that creates a usable DESK space for those who are working from the road! The tiny countertop extension is too small for that. With a larger extension coming out from the narrow counter, it would create a larger L-shaped countertop when not in use as a desk. We're considering this rig and would make that modification anyway. 2) LOVE the storage space around the bed...but why not the small drawer under the bedside table on both sides? 3) A comment for RV manufacturers in general. We love that more are going to a door window with the blackout blind opening from the top so you can peek outside. But with the screen door in place, you can't access it while IN the rig with the door closed. Wait strange person in my site, just let me open the door so I can adjust the blind to see who's there! LOVE the split stainless steel sink. LOVE the oven. LOVE pantry and coat closet. Thanks, as always, for your hard work, great humor and honest appraisals of the rigs you review!
The electric fireplace warms our entire camper without wasting propane and more important, it is a couple's camper.. Nothing wrong with a little ambience..!
Josh, I noticed on the 2024 model, the theater seats are no longer cuddle compliant! That's a deal breaker for me. Can I get the 2023 theater seats on a 2024?
Farm sink always. I’ve had both and farm wins. Too difficult to wash pots and skillets in the little split sinks. No disposal in an rv so bigger is better 😊.
I have the 2023 2109s in the exact same color. I would have bought this one had they been in stock. Rockwood seems to be better built than my last trailer.
Love it. For the Ms and I its perfect. She is hell-bent on the Lance 2075 but honestly this is everything we need. The upgraded solar and battery and converter is a must because we do a lot of boondocking. Other than that the windows could be a little larger. Otherwise its perfect for us. Hey. I hear these are bult like a Lance and almost as solid as a Nash. Is that true?
Overall I think Northwood is some of the Generally best overall built stuff out there I don’t have enough experience with Lance to feel I can speak on them But I also feel if you boil everything down pound for pound dollar for dollar Rockwood is the best overall brand out there
We are trying to find one here in NV. You don’t know how important the fireplace is in a couples camper when wifey ( me) is sleeping in a Yorkie sandwich and old man gets up at the freakin’ crack of dawn and is cold. It does not heat up the entire trailer so I wake up sweating my Fanny off so he can have coffee and warm up when it’s a bit chilly in the AM.
My only concern is the pop up power tower that close to the sink, washing dishes can get messy, water and power is not good, maybe put it over under the entertainment counter top.
I like the 2507S (Rockwood Mini Lite) model better with the darker wood color. That floor plan of the 2507S (Rockwood Mini Lite)offers a lot more storage inside of the unit The optional dinette with the table Murphy Bed And it has the bigger outdoor kitchen that has a larger fridge inside of it which adds even more storage inside the bathroom great trailer but I sure wish I could afford it since prices went up for 2023 Heck why dont you do a review of one. And I will gladly be a test user of one of those too.
This layout is good for that. Cougar's version (22rbs) has the most storage I've seen in this layout I think EDIT: Ember's 20FB might give that cougar a run for its money in terms of storage
This is similar to the Ember 221, but I like this kitchen a whole lot more because it has an oven and a fireplace. I also like the cabinet door next to the fridge and the cabinet in the bathroom, although it the Ember has an extra cabinet or outside the bathroom. Great floor plan for travel stop. I personally still prefer the Ember for its off-road capability.
The new Ember Touring Edition 20FB is the most direct counterpart to this one I think: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JyDuBKqlk_I.html -- That one has the full kitchen and oven setup The 201FBQ doesn't have that full theater sofa, but does have that sweet suspension.
I like the updated entertainment area because the previous design had a lot of wasted space. I usually don't care about exterior decals (and don't understand why some people make a big deal over exterior graphic treatments), but having said that, I HATE the monochrome look they went to in the 2023's...the orange accents the last few years popped so much better. But IF I were to go with a Micro Lite/Mini Lite (and these are great RVs), I'd go the extra couple of feet and choose the Rockwood Mini Lite 2513S or equivalent Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BSDS and get the private bedroom and bigger bathroom!!
Josh, love your reviews, and your honestly the tight toilet space was a deal breaker for many rv’s when we were shopping. COMMENT; I think Jayco 263 RBS has the larger stove/oven
It's very hard to find videos (or even photos) of this unit with the dinette. I would love to see it - that is definitely what I would choose. Without pictures it's hard to know how it would be set up (ie storage below, overhead cabinets, etc.) I'm beginning to think they don't actually make them 🙃
Diana used to be the original standard seating set up and was the most popular for a long time. Theater seat ended up becoming the more dominant set up here. I’m not trying to sway you either way. Simply advising why it’s difficult to locate pictures with Don.
I always go farm sink over two little ones. It is easier to clean in and I wouldn't be wasting the water to fill either one when washing. @Josh Would this qualify as off pavement? I am trying to understand that difference. I want a single or couples off grid, but I might start out with less and see if I want to upgrade.
@Josh the RV Nerd at Bish's RV Thanks, there are a few with Torsion Axel suspension that I have heard of as off-road or off pavement. Is there something particular to look for with those? Maybe a good video option to explain a bit.
@@richardbalding1101 Torsion is torsion really. There are not multiple varieties of it I've ever seen. Factories like to describe their torsion systems as great for off pavement. Owners and experienced off roaders often comment on how poorly is performs in those circumstances but like how it handles on highways. I don't have experience using them offroad. Simply sharing what I've seen shared by owners time and time again
This with a King bed, and a bigger shower, and I'd be going to the credit union. the ability to delete the TV or get something bigger would be a plus, as would the ability to add more solar on the roof.
Curious about the msrp compared to the cougar 22 mls? If I recall they have similar weights. The Cougar might be a touch longer. The Cougar wins for me with the campsite dinette and larger camp side windows. Only negative on the cougar is I’d prefer a full queen vs king, so I can swap in my own mattress, (very small gripe I know).
My husband and I would choose the Cougar over the Rockwood because of the king bed. We like having the same size bed on the road as we do at home. Also like the bigger bath n the 22mls
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA Reminds me of when my wife and i first moved in together. I wanted a dog. She wanted a cat. So we compromised. And got a cat.
Josh, I am really liking this RV, road mode is excellent and I have to have theater seats and this is the first model up the ladder that has theater seat as an option or actually standard? I love my 263 rbs Jayco, but the weight and tongue weight are giving me some stress towing it. Even though my Tundra, on paper, should have no issues, but when hitting rough roads, etc. gets squirrely
We liked this one but the radius shower killed it when we had the chance to see one in person. It might have been us but the shower felt smaller than some other trailer we have seen. We didn't care for the change to the entertainment center though it wasn't a show stopper. The counter top is not usable for anything and I rather have the open shelf for a Blu-ray player or game console. Overall I think Wildwood with their 19RBHL did a better job with this layout as they managed to get a decent shower in roughly the same space.
100% agree Wildwood did it better. I really want to like Rockwood...no doubt so many good things, but their bathrooms are not fluffy friendly at all. Hate those doors on the shower. Would prefer the squeegee type.
We toured this model recently. We really liked the floor plan and the size but that radius shower is a no go for me. If they change the floor plan to be like Outdoors RV’s 22FQS they’d have a winner.
Josh I know this is am older video but was considering the Rockwood Mini Lite 2205S. I've read the fresh water tanks sag when full and Rockwood doesn't recommend towing with full tanks long distance or on rough roads. This would be a problem because I mostly do boondocking. Did they fix this issue with sagging tanks due to flimsy tanks and lack of structural support?
To my knowledge that's a general forest river policy. I don't believe they've focused heavily on the concept of boondocking and haven't added the extra weight/cost of reinforcements like that to their rvs MOST rvs have that same policy in that size of trailer btw
Josh, watching this one again to make sure I'm doing my due diligence. If I wanted the features of this one, but the wife would like a private bedroom, (I've got a 10K tow pkg on my F-150) where would you direct me to in the Rockwood line? Thanks in advance for your expertise, Sir. (Still considering the Winnebago, 2108FB, 2225RL & Jayco 166FBS (realizing it is smaller, but I just like everything about it,lol) kinda still all over the map I guess. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, I find myself spending hours watching your videos, the boss thinks I'm crazy.
Hey Josh, question. I thought the upgraded solar and lithium battery power package was available on this model this year? But you didn't mention it as an available option. Is it still available, or did that change for some reason? And definitely split sink, but I'd prefer it with the half height split to allow for pot & pan handles. Would also prefer the sink to have the sprayer kind of faucet... Thank you!!
I don't like that they move the solar charge controller further away from the battery. For optimum solar harvesting, you want the charge controller as close to the battery as possible. Not a deal breaker, but I'd probably go with a 22 version.
No those are all of our Michigan stores Though we merged the coopersville and ludington stores They were fairly close together and carried nearly identical inventory Expanded our Ludington store and merged our coopersville stuff into it
Hey Josh. I had a quick question that I can't find an answer to. My fiancee wants a Rockwood 2205s, but with the power package. However, I can't find any with the Mastervolt . . . Do I have to order it from the factory with it? Or can I just ask a dealership to add it to the RV?
