Bad studio but I'm hoping if it gets renewed and people talk about animation enough we have that chance of getting a secondary studio to take over. Which surprises me it's Acat considering who we got for solo leveling and TOG. I guess it was more about hype and budget I guess
I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt. I have been reading the series since it was on royal road so I think it will still have a great story. Especially as it’s been refined but I think it should be good! I know they said that the first season was going to cover what’s in the WC but the second season is going to be part of the story that isn’t in both the comic or novel.
It looks too much like a lot of failed anime that keeps flooding us. I don't have high expectations for it because as we know source material good =/= good anime adaptation. Flat animation, unenthused VAs, static scenes with far too much dialogue and cut content enough to make videos on can absolutely destroy a series making it unidentifiable from it's source. I can be hopeful that it surprises me though.
The studio ain't bad animation wise, it's just that they haven't produced anything that became popular probably because their animes are from not so popular series...but this time it is from a very popular series.
@jm8080ful well no, they're also pretty bad animation wise, as someone who has watched literally everything they've produced. Bad may be stretching it, its not 7 deadly frames, or Record of Ragnarok, but it's not Mushoku Tensei level, or Solo Leveling, or anything like that
The beginning after the end, more like the end before the beginning They really gave a top 5 manhwa to get an adaptation from one of the worst animation studio of all time😂😂
@@bmallow170 The second part of s2 they literally swapped studio and it is now okay-ish, it's probably the thing where the first season was more of a passion project but impossible to keep up that level of quality since there wasn't enough revenue.
I could say the same about "Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody". It's a really well written novel, and the anime was also pretty well made in my opinion, but it wasn't the thing people wanted to see when they clicked on the picture and so it somehow ended up with a stigma of a template isekai with nothing original to show for. Btw, the series currently sits at 31 main volumes, 2 extra volumes and 2 drama CDs. Same with "I'm a Spider, So What?". They totally didn't do it justice in the anime.
I cannot believe this light novel getting a anime. What a journey. I used to read the novel on website called gravity tales. It is crazy bruh. Hard work + talent the author who work his butt off.
So long it's still Wit Studio working on Part III and it wasn't passed on to somewhere else, I'd rather wait for them to give us the adaptation the LN deserves.
been supporting TBAT for years now. Has to be my favorite novel to read/listen to since ive bought his novels and audibles. Last volume is ongoing atm.
“It was the mana that told me, Cylrit. The way it seemed to be drawn to him, as if awaiting his command, like he was constantly reshaping reality without even trying. He didn’t just move through the world, the world moved to accommodate his passing.”
Tower of God S2 animation was so horrible that i don't want a S3 anymore. I don't know why they just won't cancel shows like this if they dont have the time or budget to actually produce them.
These last two seasons have been awful, the worst in a decade or more so it's really nice to have some bangers. Bleach is the only exception which has consistently been a banger every episode. It's so much better than it was back in the day, it's crazy. Almost a different show due to the maturity Tite Kubo advocated for this time around.
crazy how its 43 comments, 3693 views and 364 likes in 25 minutes. i remember when it was half that. I'm glad the best channel on YT is growing so much I think I've been here since 200k subs or something
Yo saaame. I really got into this channel to stay updated on seasonal fantasy anime but my favorite videos are the ones explaining the way the power system of some of these anime especially danmachi because I don't think I understood like most of how levels progress until watching these videos.
This is my favourite anime channel too (sorry Gigguk) but man, you haven't finished Frieren? Are you saving it for a particularly bad season or something? It's incredible and I've rewatched it five times by now. Can't wait for season two.
I started re-reading TBATE last week, after hearing that it was coming off hiatus. Imagine my surprise that it's getting the adaptation treatment. With any luck, Japan will pick up more Korean bangers, like Nano Machine, or SSS Class Suicide Hunter.
@@Adam-mn2ik While I completely agree that it was a tragic and heavy moment, the fact that unlike most isekai MC, Arthur actually fessed up to his origin was something I had not seen before and was really annoyed with the usual 'i'm special and no one should know' trope.
the main difference between TBATE and MT is that while rudy regrets having and unfulfilled life and is having a second chance, while grey/Artur was a great king and warrior he abandoned every thing to get there: friend, family and love all for become the strongest and after he die he realize that that was a mistake and now he wants to enjoy a happy life.
There's zero consequences in TBATE, since MC's able to quickly adapt to his new environment, he's socially perfect, he's the most knowledgeable person, the only thing he needs to unlearn is his fighting habits.
@@kiattim2100 the concequences is go back to his former self and whiout realising be all alone again which is very sad. He is even say that he should be wary of not fall in his old habits
as someone who has been reading TBATEs light novel and mahwa i am worried that the productioon wont meet to what it should be but since turtle me is directly on the team it gives me lots of hope, turtle me has always cooked straight fire and i expect for him to keep that track record so i am not as worried
Elusive samurai & Wistoria aren’t that surprising since it’s been a Trent to brand the 2nd half of what’s essentially a split cour as season 2 because most studios currently can’t handle to air 23-25 episodes in one go
its more surprising to the fact we even got a tbate anime considering the original work isnt technically a manwha since its english, even if the anime isnt amazing its still just nice to see it get adapted
I am a fan of almost every Isekai anime. So tbh, I will absolutely watch it regardless of it's flaws. I love Death March to a Parallel World so much, that I am praying for a season 2... so no matter what I will probably enjoy it (It was my first Isekai that I watched so it gets a pass as one of the best of all time for me personally...). However, after watching Manhwa read throughs of this, I am excited to see it come to life in an anime.
I hope the tbate adaptation is successful enough to get a sequel. Maybe even future seasons receiving a studio change that can focus more on action animation. The more sought-after fights in the story happen later, and the most hype fights are later in the novel that haven’t been adapted into the manhwa. Getting tbate past these first seasons with studio A-Cat will hopefully lead to a great adaption later down the line.
I’m glad it’s getting an anime but that’s basically studio might sell and another top 5 manhwa like tbate is also getting one I can’t wait for omniscient readers viewpoint it is straight gas
IM WAY TO EXCITED, BATE is one of the dirst webnovels and webcomics ive ever read and keep up with like 8 years later. Ive dropped and came back so often its nuts
HELL YEAH! Let's goooooooo! 😃 I'll be honest tho, I really hope the studios can make it justice, especially in the fight scenes department and the ominous atmospheres when Arthur gets pissed off. Also, one of the main reasons, to me at least, for the series being enjoyable to read as far as I did, was the fact that the MC... omg, what a concept, is NOT AN IDIOT and does not lack common sense AND is not a "self insert" blank slate type of character. The show has several questionable things like many others but overall, it's a good series. Hey Sam, aren't we happy I kept nagging you a while back to give this one a read?
I've enjoyed a number of animes that studio has made, but they love using CGI...though at least they are consistent in their use of it. Wouldn't be my fist choice of studio for a popular title.
I've been caught up to the LN for a while, and holy does the story get good. The webcomic is already golden which only covers about 1/3rd of the LN, so plenty of potential
Dude you should do an isekai tier list you're the main reason i love isekai I only watched tensura before you introduced me to re:Zero and mushoku now im an isekai fanboy
When a manga is adapted into an anime, it often undergoes significant changes. Key scenes may be omitted, and the content can be condensed into roughly 12 episodes. Consequently, about 90% of the original material might not be covered, altered, or even included in the anime, possibly due to preferences in visuals or audio. This is why adaptations into anime sometimes fall short of expectations when derived from manga. While the production company's decisions play a role, this is a common outcome.
Its funny when i was watching this, i was thinking man this sounds like a book i read, look in my digital library and there it is. If they even do half a decent job with the story even if the animation is sub par it will be a fun watch.
The studio and Director made me set my expectations as low as possible. Its my second favorite isekai web novel after Musoku Tensei. So before i pop a blood vessel on my brain i shall go into it with the lowest of expectations
I'm definitely gonna look for it! Pretty happy with the Rurouni Kenshin reboot so far (still love the original, especially the VA, though). REALLY glad Freiren and TENSURA will continue as they are, too.
Damn, Solo leveling really is an anime now. Feels surreal considering I read that in my high school. And now I'm in uni. It really does feel surreal for some reason.
The problem with TBATE is... frankly till the school arc (which ends at book 4) is done, it's kinda mid... Pretty generic if I'm being honest. After that it's all peak fiction. Currently making my way through book 10, books 5-10 are AMAZING.
I am on ch 458 of TBATE and I'd say it's definitely up there in terms of best isekai stories. If I were to give a personal top 5 it would be Mushoku Tensei Supreme Magus Reincarnated as a Slime TBATE Overlord
is Mushoku Tensei (fuck i meant slime )rlly that good ? as an anime only watcher i despise most of season 2 and the whole season 3. the most boring shit i watched for a long time ( season 1 was peak)
@@SuperRot1234 mushoku tensei is a slow burner like freiren or rezero and it's interesting asf the animation and world building and all characters like wym boring? I think it's way better than every isekai except re zero
@@trapking2009 idk i thought season 2 was awful except the 2-3 episodes with the whole awakening and slaughter part. the end was meh, shion is always annoying and i need to say the anime is doing a great job to make every character not intresting except fucking diablo. this series needed a good villian and sofar clayman was just not it xD. but ye pacing is garbage. all the meetings are always way to long. the topics aren´t even complicated but they are streching it like shit. i can imagine all the explaining etc, is working way better in manga form. but now we have the biggest problem season 3. for me 0 good episodes, 0 intresting new characters or old ones who changed, the whole plot or goals they want to achieve are meh. i don´t get any treats. give me hints so i can ask my self questions etc. season 3 was just empty and the only "good" fight was boring and again fuck shion xD. 25 episodes only bulding alliance and contracts and peace and plans is not even close enough to be intresting. 0 hype and thats fucking sad because i loved season 1 and everyone is saying best isekai left and right but not now for sure . everything feels childish somehow and the comedy is just not it. Btw Movie: the worst anime movie i ever watched in cinema. 08/15. I am hoping season 4 will get hype again but for now i am just sad and dissapointed
Hmm... well, (regarding _Beginning of the End_) if the story's good and the original creator is involved and has at least some influence, then even though the animation will probably be mid, it still sounds like it should turn out all right. It might be disappointing for fans, but as someone who has been as yet unaware of the series, it still sounds like it might be an anime to look out for.
I think they'll do it justice. We've gotten flops with tower of god and god of highschool and now with solo leveling showing how properly handling the source material gives better results instead of messing up the pacing i think they'd know it wouldn't be a good idea to cover too much content with one season.
Just because studios havent had the best of track records, doesnt mean they cant change. Just look at 7th Prince's and what was pretty much their first actual series.
Love the vid, but just a thought: if views are what determines if a webtoon gets an anime, then we should be getting 'The Remarried Empress' made soon, it's at 463 million views!
damn it, i love tbate, read the webnovel weekly for a good bit before the newest volume and havent since it came out but im planning to catch up, and this is just heartbreaking
The demon lord’s best mage was a human is a decent anime. It’s no solo leveling, but the characters feel alive & the pace is good. I’m decently optimistic because of that.
Just hearing your description I'm pretty sure I will not like it at all. A story having a flawed character with room for growing up is way superior than a childish power-fantasy IMHO. I'm amazed "solo leveling" is so popular. I've tried several time but I cant stomach it.
Honestly a relatively unknown studio making _The Beginning_ could be good. They'd have more flexibility to bring on talent, like the director of frigging _Katanagatari_ and others mentioned. You wouldn't likely get this out of a major studio.
Maybe studio A Cat will surprise us all and give us a proper adaptation. Or maybe like you said, the animation will be subpar but the rest OST and all will be good enough to push it into a second season. And maybe they get a better studio then
I don't know anything about the source material, but season 3 of Slime really didn't feel like it was building up to anything. It was a whole bunch of meetings about how to set up a festival, and then the festival happened. At the end of it all, Tempest wasn't at war with any nations and it didn't really introduce any major villains with a grudge against Rimeru.
that's the point, this season is really has not any interesting part, the only one is rimuru vs hinata pt2. even in novel this just calm before endless mayhem. and tbh, i agree they fcked up s3.
Aka wrote one heck of a ride for us for sure, the final arc is giving me so much whiplash, and it's made even worse by the fact that chapter releases often got delayed by a week or two. I'm not ready for it to end on the 14th next month...
I thought it was supposed to be a joke show. Is it actually good? I watched half of season 1 and wasn't really impressed. Does it get better in season 2?
@@icebox1954 It was always a story about the dark side of the Japanese entertainment industry as a whole as its central theme, and the premise is built on revenge, so I don't know where you got the joke angle from? As with any story, what's "good" is quite subjective. If S1 didn't click with you, you probably won't enjoy S2 either beyond its oftentimes spectacular art and music direction. (I'm somewhat in the same boat with JJK after recently binging what was adapted so far in the anime)
@@icebox1954 same sentiment as @Mldy96, if you weren’t hooked after the long episode 1, this wasn’t a show for you. Myself I resisted that show but my discord group was like you gotta see it, it’s way more than just idols and otakus lol 😅 I cried by the end of episode 1, and when Aqua saved Akane and Mem-Cho lighting up that night after she was asked to join the group. My heart was like “doki doki”.
Looking into the Beginning and End story, looks like there are a lot of chapters I hope it is as good as you are saying, Frieren I am shocked they did not say it was getting a S02 half way though S01, as for The Slime, S03 was so slow and overall bad that it would not shock me if they lost 1/2 the people watching it as they just dont want to come back for S04 and overall forget it.
I love Mushoku Tensei, it's one of my favorites but my only problem with it is that it isn't quite tropey enough for my liking. There's too much tragedy for me and while I know most of you like that about it, tragedy just isn't something that I enjoy. I get enough of that irl, so I just skip those parts whenever I rewatch it. I'm hoping this new isekai is way more cliche and tropey. More than anything I'm unbelievably hyped for Tensura S4. It's my all time favorite, the perfect anime. I loved S3 and every other season, Rimuru is my god.
Let me get this straight. You don't like Mushoku Tensei, because it doesn't cling to established tropes. Mushoku Tensei, the series that is the progenitor of a lot of the isekai tropes. The Grandfather of Modern Isekai.
@@jukesdtj656 First off, you're wrong about Mushoku being the "progenitor for modern isekai tropes", that award goes to SAO. SAO is literally the blueprint for all modern isekai down to the character design of the MC. Yes there were Isekai before SAO but SAO is the inspiration for most modern isekai. Second, I love Mushoku. As I said, it's one of my favorites. My only criticism is that its too tragic. I don't particularly enjoy tragedy, and Mushoku can bring it a bit too close to home. I'm not saying it's bad writting, if anything it's good writing. It's just too much for me to handle at times, so it's more of a personal problem than an actual problem with the anime. Lastly, I enjoy tropey stories and characters. In fact, the tropier the better. I don't mind a bit of struggle here and there, but I want to know that the MC is going to wreck shit in the end. Rudy flounders a LOT, he's strong but he never quite reaches the heights of being a true isekai protagonist. Maybe that changes in the manga/LN at some point but I somehow doubt it. In fact if I had to guess I think a LOT more ppl are going to die and that's just not a good time for me. sorry for the wall of text.
@@mikedelgrande5296 You may believe that SAO is "the blueprint" for Modern Isekai but that was straight up not what I was talking about. Mushoku Tensei was the 1st to be identifiable as a Modern Isekai with all of its tropes, as in a shut-in japanese man being hit by a truck gets reincarnated into a world of swords and sorcery where he has a special talent and goes on to be extremely powerful and surrounded by several women who want him. Those are the tropes, those are exactly what defines a modern isekai, and while SAO does do a couple of them it is not the formula, it is distinctly an offshoot of that formula. Mushoku Tensei has all of the tropes, but they became tropes because they originated from Mushoku Tensei, a story that had these elements for a real purpose in the context of the story. I definitely shouldn't have said "You don't like Mushoku Tensei" but rather "You don't like that Mushoku Tensei isn't tropey." That being said though, your personal opinions aside Mushoku Tensei is not "too tragic" it is a story of ( as close as a fantastical fictional story can get to) real people experiencing their lives with real difficulties and triumphs. Those elements may be uncomfortable for you but I genuinely think you should try and experience the story as it was intended. There is a lot of value to be had in these things even if its not easy to digest and read through.
giving how the art is in original since the OG artist left last season, this is kinda funny...we can always just ignore and read instead if its bad, so lets not get too depressed that mid series like SL are taking resources from things that deserve it xDD
BATE is good at the beginning but the author constantly hinders story progression in the name of character building or world building makes it frustrating. The current Manhua arcs are so slow that it makes you drop the shit. I dropped because author didn't give us what he promised. Lots of revenges are still unclaimed while our main guy is doing dungeon quest and shit. Anyway it will be good for first 2 season that's a garrenty.
I didn’t think the trailer for TBATE was bad as long as there’s no 3D monsters I’ll be happy I don’t have high expectations though because of the studio
I'm gonna have to catch that Solo Leveling movie unfortunately. I hate how the industry is moving in that direction, but I know the art will be beautiful on the full screen.
