Fantastic role model. Well done. She is 100% right about advising school aged children about the different roles, so when they do think about a career, they have a broader knowledge of their options.
trying to persuade my daughter to learn a trade instead of going through the usual 6th form and uni route......she has looked at being a plumber or an electrician which would be a lot better than working in an office or fast food place
This "X job is better than Y job" isnt helpful. Let them figure out what they want to do instead of judging people based on their job title. office workers and fast food workers are as important as tradespeople, anyone who thiks otherwise has a bad superiority complex.
During the 1st and 2nd WWs, women weren't allowed to fight so they took over 80 percent of heavy industry jobs, just like that. My own Grandmother was a riveter at John Browns Shipyard Clydebank during the war and continued for another five years after the war was over. People can do whatever is necessary, I live out in the countryside and kids both male and female work the farms and then go to school, they don't suffer from depression like a lot of these townies because they don't have time to think about it. Go into the Alps and you'll see the farms being worked by both sexes. You probably think Manual Labour is Spaniard.
Cool for you. But woman choose to not want to work in these types of industries even if given the choice. You can say they do not see their moms doing this stuff but that is irrelevant. How many humans actually follow in their fathers footsteps? Not the majority. Women are not designed to like careers like this. Men are. In general. Thank you feminism.

@@MenRule-d3e I don't take anyone seriously that spells labor as labour. Also youtube is an american made app. This video is of american. I am american talking about americans cause i do not care about anywhere else. The statistics prove women when in 2024 have all the same equality as men Still choose to not work in the same industries as what men choose. They still dominate the teaching, human resources, service industry and healthcare fields just as they did back in ww2. Go do some research before spouting some nonsense.
For safety sake never talk about the mistakes you havent made yet, that will bite you in the ass every time😅 once youve gained enough experience you'll understand what im talking about. Good for you those crane jobs pay quite well.
@@ianhepburn6550 last crane I was on was a liebherr 340 ECB height 77 meters from the ground with a 75 meter jib length ,climb took me about 7-8 minutes and I was down in about 4-5 mins. I'm 46 years old and 80kgs weight and pretty fit. I would climb for 7am start, down at 10 for coffee, up for 10:30 down again around 1 pm and back up at 1:30pm down for 6pm unless there's concrete delays. I would normally climb without stopping off on a section
@@rneoman thanks for the info I think it’s great that you do that,I have been on sites where guys working in houses pee in bottles and leave them lying around, rather than going to the toilet.
@@ianhepburn6550 I've seen that on site here too. Last job had 4 toilet portacabins each with 5 toilets in and 4 urinals with three sinks and these were cleaned a few times per day and always had hot water soap and paper etc and yet assholes still pissed in corners inside the buildings under construction. Pure laziness.
Please go back to school. Do night school if you have to. Don't miss out. You have a bright future. You've proved you can do this so you can achieve so much more with school.
I have to give more praise to the owner of the company and or the crane forgiving somebody a chance to prove themselves that young so many times you're told no because you're too young I don't see what age has to do with anything you know put me in the seat get me experienced and we go from there
