I agree. I've been to a black church where the kid's choir sang mainstream rap music. I couldn't believe the members were applauding that nonsense. I think the ankh and other symbols like that are for people who aren't sure Jesus is the one, or they think they don't want some of his teachings so they mix his teachings with some other stuff that seems good. Years ago my sister told me about a revival in which Pastor Freddie Haynes spoke. She raved about his teaching and sent me several CDs of his preaching. The first 2 CDs were pretty sound. The third CD changed drastically in tone. It was very social gospel centered, and not Christ centered. I couldn't listen to the rest of the CDs. I was a new committed christian, but I recognized that something was off about his teaching.

They don't know how to properly put it in context. From the Roman viewpoint it was a "political" statement. Pilate was maintaining political power and authority. The Jewish leadership would have appealed to Rome if he didn't follow through. This would have made him look weak and he would have been in jeopardy of losing his political position. The Romans put " King of the Jews" over his head to mock the Jews and show them that all political power was in the hand of Rome. Those "pastors" just don't know how to put it in proper context. In addition, the "church's" support of the Black Lives Matter organization is a huge red flag. How can a Christian organization support a group that describes itself as Marxist? By definition, Marxism is Satanic and incompatible with Christianity. Why would a so-called Christian church partner with a self-described God-hating group?

I stood up, motioned to my Wife and children to do the same, and calmly walked out of his church while Pastor Haynes was speaking very negatively about another local Pastor who spoke out against homosexuality on one of the major cable news channels. Pastor Haynes is very much a civil activists and he always seems to tie politics into his sermons. My Wife was a member of his church and I joined later on after the two of us got married. We haven't been to Friendship West in over a year now thanks largely to Covid-19, but also due to the two of us wanting to find another church home. Thank you for putting this out there.
On the second clip there is an Egyptian ankh that's not a cross that's a nod to the Egyptian fertility God whose name I cannot recall right now. The bible says "3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables" (2 Tim. 4:3-4). Where do preachers go to learn how to talk like this , it drives me up a wall-- can’t hack it😖😖😖😖😖 Jesus said false teachers will come in his name and a boat load docks every day. I know about itchy ears and everything Jesus and the True apostles said is playing out.
