This song was written as a tribute to Japanese youth that are entering adulthood. As great and emotional this performance is I really, really recommend you check out the 18Fest version for which the song was written. Around the band there are 1000 18 yr olds singing as a choir. They were all picked through auditions. I won’t go into what 18Fest is or represents, that is some homework for you. Be ready with some tissue though! 😊 But also in this could you imagine playing in front of a crowd this size and having them all singing your lyrics? Mind blowing!
not only this but almost every live and their song is amazing, i saw them live in sydney last year it was amazing. I recommend you some more of their songs like Cry Out and Mighty long fall of course the live version
Loved the reaction! I hope you will listen to more ONE OK ROCK, I can highly recommend Take What You Want (Ambitions JAPAN Dome Tour 2018 there is also a minute of silence for Chester in there), I Was King (Orchestra Japan Tour) or The Beginning ("EYE OF THE STORM" Japan Tour). If you want to listen to Taka's voice a bit more, I'd recommend checking out Good Goodbye or his Adele - Hello cover :) If you want to listen to a studio version of them, I'd say Renegades is a good listen (Ed Sheeran and Coldrain worked on the song too and there is also a behind the scene series for the song which is very cool ^^)
One of One Ok Rock’s idols is Linkin Park. They were supposed to be the opening act for Linkin Park in 2017 before Chester’s passing. I recommend listening to One Way Ticket as Mike Shinoda helped produce the song.
I saw them in April in their Japan Dome tour, and yes I confirmed they are best in live performances. Taka (vocals) is incredibly good, his energy, his vocal range, and stage presence are wow! Next recommendation is “the beginning” in eye of the storm tour.
For studio versions Stand Out Fit In is an amazing song of theirs and one of the first songs I listened to of their that made me love them, I hope to see them live in the future. Keep up the good work!
This was the last song they sang at the concert in which they sang 21 songs. They also venture into different genres and their live performances are better than the studio versions and they say that the album is just an invitation to their concerts.
"We are" at Ambitions Japan Dome Tour is probably one of the band's most reacted to videos so I've seen it many many times but man this performance never fails to give me goosebumps. It's so good. I was actually part of the crowd in this video and it was an incredible feeling singing along with everyone. This is such an uplifting and empowering track. If you would like to hear more of an English/Japanese mix in lyrics, check out "The Beginning" at Eye of the Storm Japan Tour or "Re:make" at Yokohama Stadium. The live arrangements of their songs are always better than the studio version btw so you should check out the live version when available. You could also do a comparison between the two. Those videos are always fun to watch. Welcome to the fandom and enjoy your journey discovering ONE OK ROCK!
I don't know if this will be seen but.. ALL of their live performances are amazing. One of my top favorites songs is Cry Out. It got me through some really rough times in my life. I've been listening to them since 2010. If I could recommend a non-One Ok Rock song that's still Japanese that you'd possibly consider down the line, I'd recommend Minami - Hollowness. She's insanely talented as a singer and it has English subs. Highly recommend. Great reactions as always ^_^
Respect to this band. I saw them live with Volumes in 2016 at a small venue in the US that had, at the absolute most 500 people. Even though I’m sure it was a smaller crowd then they were used to, they played like it was a stadium and the show was incredible
Thank you for having listened to the song by ONE OK ROCK. The song 'Be The Light' by ONE OK ROCK is a song that gives light to a heart that has fallen into sadness and darkness. This is another good live song. If it's a studio song, there is a video of a cover of the Adele song 'Hello' which is also great. There are many other good songs, so please listen to them.
I love them so much and it is my dream to see them live. I really enjoy all their songs but their older stuff will always be my favorites. You should check out One Ok Rock - Dreamer, it was the first song ive ever heard by them.
There are many one ok rock songs and LIVE videos, but to hear only the vocal taka's voice… l recommend ↓ Adele - Hello (Cover by Taka from ONE OK ROCK)
This band is great! The community and fans love supporting people that react to them, so please keep reacting to their live performances!!! Great video, keep up the good work!
Ah right one of my favourite j rock band. Taka has an amazing voice. A band that has collab with ed sheeran in making one of their songs in recent years. And also a band that has been inspired by linkin park and taka also was in chester tribute show years ago if i recall correctly. I first listen to ONE OK ROCK decade ago and started liking them through their album that has songs like "clock strikes", "be the light", "deeper deeper", "the beginning" and etc. People actually forget taka can actually do screams a tiny bit like for example in the song "juvenile" he did a little bit of it. Oh btw this performance in this venue i think its a special one i forgot for what but i know its a special one thats y you see them emotional about it and also yea the song is emotional as well but that event was a special one i just forget about or for what
So a couple of things to know about this song... Yes, it is extremely emotional and impactful to the youth of Japan. This song was originally written for the 18 fes. I would highly recommend watching that. The crowd singing along, is because during the 18 fes, OOR chose 1000 18 year olds to help sing this song. It was a turning point for the youth in japan, where the legal voting age had changed to 18, but there was still a lot of the old school thinking about getting jobs etc. So the song was written to inspire the younger generation. For me as an older man, this song found me at a very low point in my life and has helped me come back. Another thing to know about Taka... He was actually sick during this show. So if you think he has so much energy during this, imagine if he was full power. There is a long list of songs to check out from them, and you can't go wrong with anything they do. Like Band-Maid, they are just as good live as studio. Some of my person favorites: Take what you want - Ambitions Japan Dome Tour We Are - 18fes version Taka - Hello (Adele cover) Wherever you are - Ambitions Japan Dome Tour Stand Out Fit in - MV I was king - Orchestra Japan Tour
You have entered a rabbit hole you will never want to leave. I swear, everything they do is gold, so much thought and energy goes into every song. I can't wait until they are back in my area again, I NEED to be there!
Finally!! J-ROCK is the best🔥🔥🔥🔥 TAKA's vocal range is amazing♥️ More ONE OK ROCK plz. "The beginning, ONE by ONE(Live 2015 tour 35xxxv ), Renegades, Vandalize, Heartache(studio jam session), Neon, I was king (official video from orchestra japan tour), Save yourself, Heartache(studio jam session)" Please check this out?
This is the song that introduced me to this great band. This video and its message hits me in the feels every time, and I'm old enough to almost have grandkids that are 18.
It’s Great to see you having fun and smiling and being inspired, too many sad songs and bands out there. Please do a first reaction of the classic San Francisco band JOURNEY 🤘🏼 City of the Angels is a great first song, Amazing singer Steve Perry and the musicianship in the band is Pro Caliber! JOURNEY 🤘🏼
Enjoyed your reaction video. I discovered One OK Rock myself only in the last year and I am amazed they have not broken through in a bigger way in the US. This is NOT a pop music band, this is the real thing. I recommend you listen to the the live version from the Ambitions Tour at the Tokyo Dome of "Take What You," which is absolutely stunning. I KNOW you will love it.
The vocalist was sick during this concert that's why the concert was held for about 45 minutes due to his condition.... Please check One Ok Rock - Cry Out (Live ambitions dome tour) same concert as this we are concert
Hell yeah you reacted to my favourite band! Love their incredible musicality, their positiv and uplifting lyrics and just their whole vibe. Some songs to check out next: "Take what you want" (ballad-like with a tribute to linkin park), Stuck in the middle (great upbeat rock with some screams) Oh and please ALWAYS listen to their lives and not studio versions. Thats what every One Ok Rock fan will tell you. The live performances are just so much better as they can really show their crazy stage presence and incredible talent.
Got yourself a new subscriber! Definitely check out their live performance of "Take what you want" if you really want a tear jerker and "one by one" for something a little bit more heavy from them!
Well your in luck bc every OOR fan will tell you to do there lives first lol. I went to see them in Houston last year for the first time. Core memory of my life.
I’d like to see your reactions to his Adele covers so you can see more of his range. So gorgeous it touches your soul! Taka does adele’s hello and also easy on me. Both will make you tear up
Listen to all their songs. They don't have bad song😂 try to listen to hard to love, thats my personal fav, and that's a song taka made for his father. Very touching
what touches me the most in this song is to see how it becomes a cry of war and strength against depression, Japan is one of the countries with the highest suicide rate in the world and it is incredible to see a new generation happy and full of hope!
the funny thing is Taka (the lead singer) was sick during this and this was the encore performance and it was still this good, it almost feels like it was the recorded in studio version and he lipsynced it but when you listen to all of his other live performances they turn out to be better than the studio versions
I wish people would give out better songs from their catologue... Deeper Deeper is a good start. Taka's younger brother Hiro also sings in a band called My First Story,Accident is a good place to start. Can we get some Coldrain up in here too? Its time to hear Masato tear up the vocals. New Dawn is their latest. Envy,Revolution,Mayday.
They’re a type of band that sounds better live than studio, Taka was under the weather and puking they even started their show late, but man the delivered. You can see at the end how they felt they did a successful show, they gave their fans the full fulfillment of their wait time and money, they rocked out and showed the love of their fans and their music. This is what music is man, the passion for it. I discovered their music in 2012 and I don’t follow everything but I still search them up for new music man and I blown away each time. I wanna see them live. But glad they’re still doing it man!
Understand Aileen that you and so me others are our future. Our Asian brothers and sisters are true fans of their respective musical groups, be it rock, pop, their form of R&B. Just look at the K-Pop. Going back to you are our future, we battle in the U.S. over so many things right and wrong. I miss the fans of long ago. And long ago is 60's, 70's and 80's. Bring them back!
Nothing really hits like Heart of Gold at the End of Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning (2021) or even The song at the end of Rurouni Kenshin (2012) - The Beginning. One Ok Rock was a perfect blend for those movies imo.
great to see you enjoying this dip of your toe in the incredible pool of j-metal/j-rock. as next one I would recommend lovebites - holy war live tokyo 2020. have a great weekend.
