Derek Boateng was untouchable in that u20 squad that lost to Argentina in the final. He was a real baller. But in the senior team I didn't see him like the play maker I saw during the youth stage. Such a great talent
I’ve watched a lot of the interviews. I must say this is my best so far. Gyan’s comes second. Derek is affable. The interview was interesting because he made Dan comfortable. I now understand why he is so popular among his teammates.

Junior mayele was his name in the 90's at Accra central specifically korle worko. The first time I saw him play football was in 1988 when we were both less than 10 years old at Richard Akwei Memorial school park and i said wow so i ain't surprised he eventually made it.
Everything he is saying true went to the Same Osomako primary school at timber market 2 years ahead of him by then and properly known as junior Mayele he was blessed with football for sure. Madele blessed up
The most talented player in the early 2000s. Maradona tipped him to go far. Like Odartey Lamptey, he did well but never reached his full potentials as we all wished him to reach.
I know him from Korle Woko. Wisdom Preporatory produced plenty of the national players that came from the Accra Central area. They were very football oriented
I was in Philly when Ghana played with Chile and there was an English guy sitting beside me and he was like with Derrick in Ghana's midfield Ghana can win the world cup. He had a fantastic game that day
I thought he was Baffour Gyan so i was bragging to my wife he is Asamoah Gyan's elder brother oh Dan K totally deviated koraaa. @@kuntaabeiku3536 oh nice...I am also a Sarbah Picot boy officially but for some reason took residence at Bartels lol. For what I heard about Derrick was basically more like his interest being in football over his lukewarm attitude towards his books lol...that's pretty much what Mr Simpson gossiped and complained about.. his poor performance... He taught him Math ..He taught Math as well. He liked Sports and talked a lot and would always divert to such topics when teaching lol..football and boxing mostly. He used to hit on Derrick but well we all thought that after the guy became a household name and earned more than most of his mates and doing pretty well for himself lol.
