I'm in the US watching this story and it is so heartbreaking I don't know what is wrong with our people why we can't lift each other up and support each other especially when we doing good it's so disappointing that this man has taken his hard earned money to invest back into the community not just for farming but for also education and the people around him that probably that he has employed has turned their backs on him in Jamaica we call this "BADMIND" there is no rational explanation for the attack against this man He has done no wrong He's a farmer for God's sake what would cause the people in that village including the chiefs the kings and the queens to not support this man when all he's doing is good do you know how hard it is to earn 500,000 in the West and then to invested in Africa That's a high risk there's no guarantee to of an ROI where is the government the elected officials to support this man. This is not a good look on Ghana because those of us in the diaspora that's looking to invest in Ghana is looking at these types of actions we don't want to come and invest our money only to have a loss such as this The government needs the steps in because this is not a good look!!

Dear Fred, I'm really sorry about what you are going through at the moment. I appreciate the civilized manner you've handled the issue so far bur my advice to you is ro take the offer that one of your viewers offered. Move your goats to a temporary shelter and then start making a lot of noise. Don't hold back ask for help, if you don't know the people in power ask to be connected. Contact the minister of Agriculture, your senators or lawmakers and even the president. Use your channel, experience and education to turn things around in your favor. Traditions can be stopped if they are no longer relevant to today's realities. God will fight for you.

This is really sad and I share your pain cuz iv passed through your situation before and still healing from it. My poultry farm with over 5,000 birds were just destroyed without any prior notice all in the name of ‘building a real estate business on the land’. Still battling the case in court. This is ever so sad. Your government is not supportive. Surely there must be someone in Agri ministry who knows what should be done to prevent such acts of evil. It looks like everyone can lead and do whatever they want. We love our traditions but we need to know that we are living in society that has completely changed. I have looked at Fred’s equipment / implements for farming and other assets and buildings. It’s massive. There must be a compensation from the traditional leaders. You can’t just be expected to leave because dead people are supposed to have said so.

Fred my brother, please take care. These are the obstacles that we face in some of our African countries. This can't happen in Nigeria,all the farmers will mobilize themselves and stay there until the matter is solved but see how the Ghanian farmers are just allowing you suffer alone. You can sue them and claiming damages for allowing you to invest all these years. You can't find this in Nigeria. That region needs to review the tradition to the one that facilitates development.

Ted you have to be a savy politician to succeed in africa. Let me give you a free advice. Reach out to BBC africa and tell your story. Ask them to also reach out to the minister in charge of agriculture and see what will happen. You may get a call from the president. Something similar happen to a young ambitious senegalese like you with similar pedigree and who wanted to develop agriculture as well. He made noise. Once the president heard it, he told his people to go help him. That's how he succeed. Mild manner in africa will not get you anywhere 😊
This saddens me. I'm African-American and I have spoke with Fred about investing in farming in Ghana and other places in Africa. I understand tradition but this is not right and in some ways primitive.
It's not right to say it's primitive. Just as in the USA, every city has its bylaws. There are always two sides of a story. Most of towns created these laws to protect the farming communities. Goats are one of the destructive animals to farms, but in this case I think there should be some considerations. They are fenced in He is helping the community and should not be punished like that. My advice to you is not to be discouraged. Just make sure whatever town you choose, go to the palace and learn what is allowed. Remember these laws were there before we had the central government to protect the interest of the communities.
You may come to my country Suriname my bother and we will give you plenty of land and the funds to develop a world class goat farm. Wrong..so sad but don’t loose Be blessed.

Hi Fred, this is really very sad news. I think you should write officially to the Agric Minister with copies to the Chieftaincy Minister, Bono Regional House of Chiefs,The Otumfo (Asante Hene), The National Security and the Office of the President. Also get secuirty camaras at your farm. The Country cannot wish youth to be in Agric and with unflexible tranditions. Let the letter give details of your plans, investments, number of people employed directly and Indirectory etc. I believe the Traditional Council will have to be summoned for reconsideration in their decision.
My village has the same "no goat rearing" rule, i love to raise goat and i was stopped, i further enquired to know why since we have livestock raised in the village except goat, i was shown a shrine raise in a pyramid form with a lid at the summit,and twas told goats would climd up to the top kick the lid and desecrate the whole thing with urine and poop, i ask so why dont we fence the whole thing so we prevent entry, answer was something else, africa rise up from primitive slumber

Go to the Ghanian embassy in the US and demonstrate or write a petition to them for the unfair treatment of your brother because today it's him, tomorrow will be your turn if you do nothing. Make a public statement in form if noise at the embassy
This is sad to see and experience and it's going to be a huge loss to Mr Fred his family and team but yet again we should not forget and put sentiment aside,sorry to say this but he knows that goat's in the community is a taboo but went ahead to raise goat's, that was a mistake on is own side,and if we keep saying that we should forget about our cultures and go with the wind,the west that we look up to or follow, they have their own laws that you most follow and that is their culture and taboos and we accept it,Mr fred should move to another location i would say because there are places in Ghana that goat's are not taboos.
Some bookish Queen mothers and chiefs have studied in English for so long that they lose touch with the flexibility our traditional rituals and traditions are embedded with. But because they are royalty, other community members with deep traditional knowledge fear to oppose them. How sad! Will these people have harassed a white or Chinese farmer who made such an investment on their land the way they are doing to their own indigene? Shame on them. Someone out there who can help may have seen this but probably saying to him/herself, "They have not approached me". I hope some help gets his way...

Why are we turning our backs on African traditions? An example, East Asia has a Feng Shui tradition, should that also be considered outlived? How come Fred ran the farm for 5 years before any of such came up? If something is truly a taboo, he immediately he started bringing goats, many people would have flagged it.

If the 'gods' are making the community cry and be in pain,and make them lose their means of survival,what are their role for serving the community?What is the form of these 'gods',are they spiritual or in human form?
