In the context of a newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways,farmers in the rural areas lacking access to clean drinking water, electricity etc,is it appropriate for Nkrumah to make investments in ghana airways a top priority over the need to provide farmers and their workers with the same clean drinking water Nkrumah was enjoying with his Egyptian wife at the flagstaff house? Nkrumah might be the greatest transformational leader in ghana,however his significant mistake that ended his presidency was when he arrogantly decided to use the limited resources of his fledgling newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to finance an unwarranted war against the well entrenched colonial masters for total liberation of Africa. If Nkrumah,upon ghana’s independence,adopted a peaceful approach of negotiations for total liberation of Africa and engaged his soldiers at home to help execute national and patriotic duty of new roads and highways construction across their newly independent country,they would have been so preoccupied by the task of building infrastructures in their new country and that there would be no motivation for them to remove Nkrumah from power. And Nkrumah would have had the necessary political stability to accomplish his goals for ghana. Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism but rather official corruption, which started from Nkrumah’s regime,bad governance also began from Nkrumah’s regime and absence of technology to extract and add value to our natural resources in Africa,if now fragmented africa in future becomes a single entity and the underlying problems,especially bad governance now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist the continent would still be an empty giant. For Africa to be truly independent it must strive to acquire high level management of international standards and capacity to be able to extract and add value to natural resources.

On his way to Vietnam his government,marked by suppression of opposition views and illegal arrests and detention of opponents was toppled,by the ghana army and police,the first and only coup in ghana that the police collaborated with the army,that should tell you how bad Nkrumah was. Today Singapore,because of lee kuan yew strong leadership,his government was not toppled and he had the opportunity to accomplish his goal of a modern and civilized Singapore. If Nkrumah had provided strong leadership in ghana,his government would not have been toppled and it would stand as a yardstick for other Africa countries to emulate. Because of Nkrumah’s bad governance,the difference between ghana and Singapore is like day and night. The 10million pounds,Nkrumah single handedly gifted to Guinea,as part of his unwarranted war against the colonial masters, who still control ghana with English as official language,could have been used to extend the railway network, the colonial masters concentrated only in the gold mining and cocoa producing areas to other parts of the country. Nkrumah leader of the first subsaharan Africa country to gain independence bad leadership is what has made africa to become a laughing stock.
