Factory VL Turbo manual, purchased by its current owner from its original owner at 97 years of age. This is truly a rare find in 2023 and its got a full factory spec restoration in line. STAY TUNED!

Great cars boys. I’ve seen plenty of these back in the 80’s. And that rear window louvre is an Aunger brand. There were plenty of these getting about on cars back in the day. Pronounced ‘ornjer’ I would like a VL. not fussed if just a stock 6 cyl or 8. I especially like the Calais models. Fully sik 🤘

I used to own 2 Calais turbos manual transmissions . One was midnight blue over silver the second was ice blue over silver.

A friend of mine has 2 (yes x 2) Absinth Yellow VL Turbo (plated 1D008-D) - ex Vic Pol cars untouched sitting in his garage unmolested. You can see the previous holes for the hand held mics that were sitting on the windscreen pillar. He's had it for years. Talking about the VL holy grail!

These would well and truly be up there with the best of them in terms of the holy grail. It goes to show that these rare and untouched cars are still out there and at least now people appreciate them more so its more likely they will stay that way or be improved on like our one

Brett realised after filming that the build plate is Mx7 not Mk7... must be dyslexic... Can paint though!

This one is a customer build as mentioned in the video the current owner used to see the car driving around the area and eventually purchased from the original owner who was 97 years of age when the car was sold. Purchased from Beasley and Bruce Holden in Canberra, been in Canberra ever since.

Correct it’s MX7 for the turbo

LW5 is the Turbo/ MX7 is the manual “turbo” gearbox. Engine block should start with a8 for genuine turbo engine

The current owner prefers to give it a birthday before the condition deteriorates any further, based on the rust we found in the front screen its not a moment too soon! More on that to come!

Yes, fair point. Presents as purchased from its original owner so although yes not technically a "one owner" any more as it stands the condition is identical.

The current, 2nd owner commissioned the restoration but hasn't touched it since recently buying it. As the vehicle presents in the video its in its "one owner" condition but I guess if it still needs to be owned by that owner to be called a "one owner" then truly sorry to disappoint...
