I'm one of the two production managers on this episode, Thank you so much for speaking so kindly about all the hard work the team put into this piece🙏🏼🌄 If Joyboy brings you joy, then he has fulfilled his purpose
I've never thought that when Luffy goes out of gear 5 that he is aging into an old man. I think it's more like rubber that has been over stretched and it takes his rubber body time to go back to normal.
Yeah, she's 100% right when she says manga readers were expecting more in the last episode, because they forgot what happened in each chapter. Mr. Morj was upset that Nami and everyone's eyes didn't pop out during the Gear 5 intro episode. But then the chat yelled at him saying he was thinking of the wring chapter and it would be in this episode 😂
Broo, Luffy is so op in that form. Not only does it affect the ground and his environment it also affected Kaido’s entire body.. bro and Kaido has been hitting him with Haki and his only reaction is “ouch” literally no damage.
Indeed, the way I perceipt this episode is really showing us that, this transformation is close to perfect defense as well. We see how doffy kick to gear 4th back then, but at that time doffy not even coating haoshoku to his attack. While Kaido is absolutely beast as he is one of the best fighter in the world, but luffy taking those hits in gear 5 when he have option to dodge it with future sight if it actually harm him.
Nami screaming, NOOOOO in japanese takes me back to pre timeskip. When Luffy fought Enel and he inflated his head and said, "Gomu Gomu no Tako!" And she was like, "YAAAAAAA!"
Everything we wanted it to be from reading the manga perfect can't wait for the fight with lucci 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I was waiting for y'all reaction to these fights always genuine reactions from you guy's
One of my favorite things about Gear 5 is that despite the power up, Luffy doesn't just instantly beat Kaido. They still get to have an awesome fairly equal battle. Luffy and Kaido both take a beating in this episode
Wow this was an experience from all the more intense goofy things Luffy did to abuse and use Kaido like he did lmao then the eye gag with the folks down below was awesome plus that one part where the animation and art style changed was sick af
Even after reading the manga and getting drive by spoiled on FB with some frames shared, it was such a thrill to see in motion. I think if you can’t appreciate gear 5 I don’t know how you are a fan of animation in general. This really is peak on so many levels!
The Directors and Animators in this Episode gave all out WOW .When i watch this Episode I'm really Speechless OMG they give justice really really well and I'm not complain every Scenes and it's very hilarious because of Luffy's GOOFINESS in this Fight 😂🔥
Yeah anime's only haven't seen nothing yet. They thought Gear 5 is crazier, wait until the next arc comes Because it is even more crazier. I can't wait to see it animated Anyways, they really went all out with this episode. I'm expecting the next episode should be weaker but Gear 5 is just ridiculous but fun to watch. Kaido, it's game over my man!!
I appreciate the discussion about only Yamato and Momo witnessing what was happening up there because they were the ones tortured by Kaido in many ways
So glad with the point that you guys made here about "lazy" and "insulting". Otherwise, I keep seeing so many people tryhard to talk shit about eps 1071 &1072, but the problem is they are have no idea about animation in general like at all. Even more funny people who insulting Toei and acting like they can do better than Toei, the studio who already starting to make animation way before their parents even born yet! To me, they feels like those people who come to NASA and preach about how to flight a rocket just because they know a tiny bit of rocket science. These kind of people not even doing critics but straight up insulting!
They reused same scene 3* times last week… First time Gorosei were narrating while luffy was bouncing around, Second time was before Time Card Luffy was talking during scene of him bouncing around, Then third time after Time Card they redid scene for third time while OST was playing, And it wasnt just bouncing around it was like a 20 second clip… I can understand having a redo after Time Card as sort of a brief recap of events before Intermission but 3 times was bit much… Episode was good, I loved it, But if you remove 2/3 scenes replayed and all the flashbacks it wouldve felt better paced Imo, Hiyori bit was in manga so guess they Had to drop it in but of course 100% that didnt help either, It was a Very poor send off for how Hiyori bit ended bc no one cared, Everyone was just anxious to skip it n get back to G5… That said given it being an introduction to G5, They had to incorporate Hiyori conclusion, Flashbacks for brief recaps it wasnt bad, G5 was more than great enough to trump any downsides to the episode, And with this weeks episode we get full view of G5 in all its glory with little to no moments to breathe before things pop off again, I praise the team for putting this episode together!! Lastly Ota on that “Beat Loudly, Heartbeat!”? Man imagine a full scale beginning to end episode animated by Ota? Not rushed course either just give Ota an entire episode a month or 2 ahead of schedule to give em time to put their all into the animation, Talk bout one of best One Piece episode potentially ever? Great Reaction Yall!! G5 Is Hype!! 🔥
Gonna watch the episode now for the 2e time it was amazing the heartbeat start again was super good like best for one piece so far but even so i do think i like last episode more it looked more freaky it really fits g5 more last week i feel like
He's not actually passing through his eyes. If he did that, kaido would have no eyes and he would be blind. He's turning the Cornea's of kaido eyes into rubber. Look at it closely and you will see.
I don't know if anyone caught this but the way the episode closed out in transition (to the "To be continued" shot) also felt like a toon closing, kinda enforcing the idea that this ability is loony toon-like. I might be reaching.. If anyone seen this style of closing before then disregard 😅
I wonder why this video got age-restricted. Haven't watched yet, but I assume it must be Josh talking about how the ep made him feel carnally like he ususally does lol.
I was really looking forward to the heart beat scene after reading the manga over a year ago and to say that it didn’t disappoint was an understatement! From the manga the stark contrast between Luffy asking his heart to continue all the while thinking of his friends and the scene of the lonely CP0 agent resigning himself to die for his mission was really amazing to me. The will to live and resignation to death are big themes I love to see in fiction and Oda does it pretty much perfectly. Yeah the animation was spectacular as Luffy regained the beat!
I'm still no fan of Gear 5 and the sound effects still rub me the wrong way. In addition I generally find Luffy to be more annoying in this form, but I'm happy to see these moments getting so much incredible animation and people enjoying it where I cannot. Megumi's style always shines through in the moments she got to direct in this one.
