you all are confused on thing. luffy didn’t run out of energy with gear 5. that side effect likely happens even when he turns G5 off. in the chance that he djd run out of energy, you all are under the misconception that he can’t do anything which is wrong. the first time he used G5 against kaido the same thing happened and he went right back into with will power. so if lucci was still in front of him luffy would still be in his his G5 form and say for the sake of the argument he wasnt, he would still be able to go back into it.

Yeah he leveled up and he’s strong but Luffy is in the same class as the emperors, meanwhile I doubt Lucci is stronger than Katakuri or Doflamingo. He’s slightly above the Tobiroppo at best since he was Who’s Who’s former rival. Also Lucci is a leopard not a cheetah.

This was a enjoyable fight but i think we all know luffy could’ve 1tap lucci, if he used advanced haki on his 1st punch. But oda doesn’t wast to disrespect 1 of his favorite villains.

Whenever Luffy turns in to the old man saggy face look, it’s not a draw back of his power. What it is, is how they’re depicting him that he’s tired. Kinda like how he goes full toon force(silly way of fighting) in gear 5, this is the silly way they show he’s tired. Never thought I'd say this but Robb actually the smart one in this and staying true to the characters of the show. Luffy really is that and probably doesn't want to kill Lucci for whatever reason, he was testing Lucci and respecting him sparring up with him so he made sure when he hit him that Lucci turns into rubber too. He literally could have put a whole in Lucci with that fist like Akainu did with Ace (maybe it was his own ptsd lol) if he didn't do that. Also the animation just keeps on getting crazier and crazier, Egghead will be forever remembered as one of the greatest Arcs and that after Wano Finale is insane. It looks like Jujutsu Kaisen or Chainsaw Man fights, literally Mappa style animation and choreography.

i like Lucci cause hes not a gimmick fighter dude is just strong. theres no having to figure out how his abilities work its kinda just straight up. He's probably about 1st commander level at this point based on this fight. Even in the manga hes pretty impressive hope he sticks around atleast until the final arcs. also I hate it tho because post time skip besides Hordy Jones a lot of Luffys fights for main villains and side fights have huge asterisks next to them
