Luffy and his Epic Chore boy behavior has roots with Oda's own life. Early on, Oda worked in a real restaurant named Baratie. He used to break plates, ate off dishes as well🥸🥹
I really liked Krieg as a villain. He is not complicated or someone you would feel sorry for but he has cool abilities and crafty. What happened to his crew was like a warning to the straw hats that even Krieg with his stength and his entire fleet was bested by one person.
It's more like 50 ships and 5 thousand crew members. Don't know why food reenergize people so quickly in anime. The food didn't have time to digest yet. It's a cannonzooka one of the weird type of weapons in One Piece.
Humans in One Piece's world are not like us. They can swing around 5 5-foot-diameter weights a few hundred times to break a light sweat, take massive amounts of damage, can grow to an average of over 8 feet tall, and can metabolize energy at incredible speeds.
I mean Oda has one piece world explanation for this. A technique called Life Return. It's taught in Cipher Pol, but obviously Luffy uses it as well. Maybe a lot of people are self taught in this technique and use it unconsciously.
I was a little disappointed (though understanding) when I saw how much was cut in the live action since Baratie is my favourite early One Piece arc. As funny as it was watching Krieg and his crew get absolutely annihilated by Mihawk, their involvement in this arc was crucial to Sanji's introduction imo. Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying this arc; even more cool and iconic scenes await!
Full-body does show up for a min in the live action when sanji is first introduced, breaking up the fight between him and another proud l pirate. Cool little mention.
12:25 yeah the live-action said okay he has to learn how to do dishes😂 Running gag aside he better NOT do this. Luffy is a whirlwind of Chaos in the anime. 28:52 in the manga they all just point guns at him I'm still waiting for Oda to dive into Wootz steel metal. How hard or well known is that metal.
given all the stuff that happens with Krieg during this arc, I suspect a big reason for cutting him was also to give them (OPLA) a lot more freedom and focus with the CGI budget in other places. As much as I enjoy a lot of the juxtaposition and character establishment for both Luffy and Sanji that gets lost with how the LA did it, it's also one of the places that certainly drags a bit.
you say drags, but I disagree completely. Don Kreig is a fun character, I like his battle with luffy, and the LA losing the themes and character in this arc is a travesty, and speaks to them not understanding the spirit of one piece, focusing instead on getting the aesthetic of things to look good. the whole fight is suppose to showcase luffy's sheer willpower. Zeff's words of luffy's unbendable will being a force equal to kreig's weapons and armor is a big part of luffy's character. Especially with what we learn later.
Mihawk in LA, saved us from the annoying Krieg. Though that also cut most of the conflict. They were like, we have four things to nail in Baratie. Sanji's kindness, even if one scene only. Mihawk vs Zoro, Zoro's promise, after waking up. Zeff-Sanji goodbye, after that perfect 1:1 backstory with the Manga.
Kreif is an important antagonist to put against Luffy’s way of life. Krieg chooses mass numbers of crew and fancy weapons where Luffy would rather a small intimate crew who have skills of their own. Plus Krieg wanted the shortcut of Zeff’s logbook where Luffy wants to make his own way
@@malcolmhodnett8874 yes, agreed..he actually pushes Luffy to limits against brute force..but in a time constrained LA setting, that fight with that many gadgets would eat up time...and the hero getting up n up again is not a thing that LA audience would have loved to see this soon. Cz its not at Captain America level, of I can do this all day..they still do not have that connection with Luffy.
Hi Omn1Media! LOL! I hope you're upstanding against this part of the show, considered by many, the most "boring" part of One Piece and the main arc where the "almost fans" drop the serie. And don't worry, it will get better. About the diferences to the Live Action I will talk about later to avoid give non intentional spoilers.
I see which arcs you meant..East Blue Saga being boring part of OP, when compared to later on..yeah..this was just training. Even LA watchers got it..they felt, not many shows dares to just setup the whole season.
@@malcolmhodnett8874 fair point but the tension and dread that is built up just from people talking about him in the anime is so much more effective. It would’ve been better and more of a shock to see him take out zoro as his first feat
@@stethespaniard2 I dunno how "effective" it was, considering the man does dirty tricks, has no honor or standards, and has a generic "don't defy me" personality... then later, his entire fleet is disposed of offscreen by Mihawk, completely undermining the entire buildup. And that's not getting into how Arlong has a higher bounty than him, which undermines Krieg's reputation even more. ^All in all, I think it's fitting that he was pointless in the LA, because that's exactly what he ultimately is in the grand scheme of OP. Least imho
@@Omegafire17 I meant Mihawks effectiveness. Rather than see him take down a high bounty that really isn’t that high in the grand scheme of of things. Taking out one of the good guys easily without seeing him fight Krieg would’ve been better
@@stethespaniard2 I feel like Mihawk's entrance in the LA is way better than that ever could've been tbh, because someone coming out of nowhere and/or with offscreen feats, is just comparatively lacking to seeing their feats firsthand (before the defeat of a hero, I mean). But eh, that's just my opinion
