Biggest issues with the Grand Order adaptions is they assume you know (or at least have a general idea of) the basic story of FGO going in. But for the sake of a possible new viewer, I'll list them in chronological order. The First Order OVA is an adaption of the prologue, and it does a decent enough job at it considering what it was working with. The two Camelot movies are alright as a whole. First one is okay for the most part, but gets better right at the end. Second is actually pretty good right from the start (mainly because all the boring bits were already taken care of). Then we have the Babylonia anime, probably the best adaptation of the bunch. And finally we have the part one finale Solomon. I'll be honest and say I don't really know what the general consensus on this one is. I liked it well enough myself, for what that's worth 0:00 . And finally there's Moonlight Lostroom. Now this one exists purely for longtime players of the game, and consists entirely of abstract foreshadowing for part 2 and beyond. (Some of which is *still* unknown this many years later.) Skip this one entirely if you aren't extremely invested in the overarching story. Oh, and if you're looking for more reaction content in this vein a classic would be all Fate series openings. (VN, games, anime, etc.) You can find examples all over RU-vid. Another would be something like "all Grand Order Noble Phantasms." In other words, a limit break exhibition of all the characters from the game doing their super move.

So yeah the reason why it may seem like that Fate doesn’t care about its story is mainly because there is too much story in the original work I’m not sure which Fate Stay Night you watched since there is three of them but they are all AU that tell a single story

FGO is one of my favorite games ever. Truly peak fiction. There's a reason this game is one of the top performing gatcha games after almost ten years.

Fate summer event story are better than your one piece tbh

Saying Fate/Stay Night doesn't have a story and is just fighting is a wild take. It has way more than Zero, which is just a prequel that sets up story points in Stay Night. I'd recommend you watch Heaven's Feel instead of just Unlimited Blade Works.

It is odd how the list seems to include most anniversary movies, but not the most recent anniversary (with the best animation of all of Fate IMO and great visual storytelling). Also: this reactor seems to be allergic to summer for reasons I don't understand.

1:01:00 so far nothing has been out of order here (just a few TVCMs that were not shown (like Saber Wars). Up to Lostbelt 6 all the dates you have seen were those of the English language NA server (so what JP got in 2021 NA got in 2023 etc.). NA is 2 years behind in story to Japan. The dates after the Tunguska Even event are those of the JP server.

Fate story in itself is extremely linear and simple tbh if you watch it normally being UBW, Heaven Feel movies then fate Zero with UBW and Heaven Feel being the same story with different ending while Zero being the prequel by a different author it only get confusing once you try to get into the lore and even then it is not that bad because somehow it all make sense as for all the spin off like Grand Order just treat it as it own thing and it won't be confusing since it doesn't directly change or affect anything from the main series

Huh, interesting choice to react. Also, this game is crazy. Cause this game, have horible outdated gameplay, really really terible gacha system that no other gacha game have, and no multiplayer whatsoever. However, it still stand and have strong fanbase for almost a decade. Guess why? Cause the lore and ost are insane.

The Original Game the Japanese Version came out 2015 The n the Global Version came out 2017

7:42 its actually not that confusing. Its only confusing from the perspective of one who hasn't actually watched more than surface level stuff. Everything has a very clear explanation. Also, Stay Night may be framed under a tournament style thing, but it absolutely has a story, you were just plain wrong there. the fights are just the framing under which the story takes place.

27:24 while I'm not sure why you get all weird every time they advertise a summer event, as if its weird for them to be wearing swimsuits in the summer, but yes, every major holiday, and every summer, has its own event. Separate from the main story, and usually a lot less serious and more lighthearted in tone.

It's not that they don't have any story in the games itself. Just don't skip the cutscenes if you are planning on playing the game for context. Majority of these are based on Historical figures themselves. Or Historical events. Which is why if you read the titles they are usually either based on real events or some part of a real event with some twist. Other than a few which are created by Nasu himself as his own universe. You may want to read some of the in game cut scenes for context as the anime which everyone has watched is basically them skipping several arcs of story ahead. "Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia" basically skipped right into the 7th singularity/story arc. And the movie is on the 6th Arc and the 2nd movie is on the final arc. But it would become a rabbit hole if you do actually go into the Nasuverse.

Yeah, this was probably not the best playlist to recommend for someone with little interest in Fate. Including all of the recap videos that are really only interesting to long-time players, whilst skipping the openings for Cosmos in the Lostbelt which are probably the most hype and engaging promotional content for the game, was definitely... a choice. As far as the game itself goes, for what it's worth F/GO does actually have some fantastic storytelling. It takes a while to get good (basically everything before Camelot is trash) but when it gets good, it gets really freakin' good. All of Cosmos in the Lostbelt is great. Still, good job sticking with it! A lot of people would probably have given up on some of those story recaps.

FYI Only singularity x and Singularity 6,7 and final is animation, singularity 1 to 5 are skipped and not animated.

FGO is one of the weird gacha game where the rate and pity is the absolute worse but somehow as a f2p i was able to get around 210/336 character (as of now in NA) and beside the gacha currency itself there is nothing else in the game that require money when you ran out from farming the game feel really old because it is and a lot have not aged well but the story and character are still great which is how it still able to keep itself among the top gacha game in money i have play the game for around 6 years now and it is still my most played gacha game on a daily basis due to the story and character, that and the fact at this point farming in the game is a good way to kill time for me i find it fun now to farm

FGO Babylonia is definitely better, if you drop watching anime i won't suggest it, but as you already know Fate Zero, you should give fgo anime a try

you should check out all the noble phantasms maybe. zero is one of the weakest and shallowest parts of fate.

Imagine a game which has JPEG images talking to each other, no animation, no narration, old turn-based mechanics that is 8 years old. FGO’s lores carry the whole game and fandoms.

If you've never played any Japanese or Korean company made gacha game, there's almost always a summer event, xmas/new year event, an event to commemorate the game's anniversary, and a random one just so they keep the game from being stale and keep your bank accounts hostage while you go full on cheapskate, eating instant ramen to save up for your next binge roll and a chance to get that waifu.jpg or daddy.jpg they just released for that event. Basically, gambling but make it anime.
