I can understand why they put these two together, but ultimately this must have been one of the most one-sided fights there is. Ace ultimately couldn't do anything
There are a few of those stomps or battles where a character just has no way of winning. Ryu vs Skorpion is the most popular since the conclusion is "actually Skorpion can't die unless you do something that Ryu can't do. So he wins"
actully not there is somthing called haki in op and ace masterd all forms of it and there are three 1: armement allows you to cover your self whith invicible armor 2: observation its kind of super senses but whith precogntion basicly he can predict his vow attacks . 3: conquores it allows you to knock out weaker enemis but not that much whith tougher ones . And ofcourse each one of them has an advanced form but no clue if ace has those but he has the basic tree confermid . That fight will be much longer and much tricky if they add those but natsu stil has abit of advantage .
Yeah, there was really NOTHING Ace could do. He's far too one note, and he has NO abilities that let him fight someone similar to himself, where Natsu is literally built to stomp fire DRAGONS, which are WAY stronger than regular fire magic mages. Natsu CAN be injured by fire magic, but it needs to be from a FIRE GOD SLAYER, yes that's a thing. That's like, a whole other level of fire magic, and Natsu still told that guy to suck his fire fist, cause yeah.... Natsu ate his fire anyway and beat him senseless. Dragons in Fairy tail are CRAZY powerful, and Natsu has the potential to actually kill them. They're not exactly around anymore, so he doesn't really do that, but his magic is built to give him their power to kill them. He's absolutely insane and not someone you wanna fight if your main weapon is fire.
- I know near to nothing of One Piece but this felt pretty one sided. There was literally nothing Ace had could take down Natsu. Heck Natsu could probably had eaten Ace with his flame body - Fire Dragon King Mode is the official translate
This death battle felt like a really bad match-up to me. They put a guy who eats fire against a guy who transforms into fire and only has fire attacks. Pretty obvious who's gunna win.
Pretty sure the fans have little to do with these matchups. I've seen every episode and never once heard "be sure to vote on who fights in the next episode."
Im not personally a fan of it but im glad you got this episode out of the way. Heres a quick explanation on The 3 devil fruit types: Zoans: Gives people the power to turn into animals or human-animal hybrids Logia: The rarest of the 3 gives the wielder the ability to conjour, manipulate and become a natural element, ie. Fire, Smoke and Sand. Aces fruit is a logia Paramecia: The most common of the 3, any other fruit that doesnt fall into the previous 2 catagories.The powers they give can be overpowered or complete garbage, its a complete dice rollLuffys rubber fruit is a paramecia. Devil Fruits are identified by their swirly patterns, and other than that, look like normal fruits. Sounds awesome right? kinda but there are some downsides to Devil Fruits. They taste awful, the power may be useless, consuming more than 1 will kill you and most importantly: you lose the ability to swim, as in, water just hates you now. If you step in like a small puddle youd be completely fine, going knee height will quickly suck all your energy away and getting submerged entirely basically means you cant move. Now imagine being in a setting where the world is mostly water and the main method of transport is boats. aka ONE PIECE Still they are one of the coolest shounen power ups ive ever seen

@@theduckgoesmoo there have been fishman and mermaids who got the fruit. and aquatic zoan animals. they are STILL weak to water. it gets weirder though, for example thanks to modern, as of yet unexplained technology, sword and guns can eat zoan fruits. this gives them some intelligence.

Also sorry if I come quite annoying but fi you gave both Sora vs Pit and Natsu vs Ace a chance why not give other Death battles you skip a chance too ( like Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter, Lara Croft vs Nethan Drake and Samurai Jack vs Afro samurai) sense these also don't have much spoilers if for chance if your gone paly or watch it, i well cut you some slack on Death Battles that involve The Legend of Zelda or Metal Gear series but still its something.

While the outcome was accurate they still downplayed Natsu's power. Natsu has FTL reactionary speeds and his durability and AP are multi-continental. Also Natsu could have hit Ace in his fire mod since Natsu has control over fire as well thus allowing him to hit and injure Ace directly.
That and as seen with gajeel, fire dragons flames destroy anything they touch if they are wanted to, by breaking the target down on a molecular level, dragonslayers are powerful, that and natsu also after completing a job with grey, fought him for 3 days straight without rest food or water, this fight could have gone on for days, ace didn't have a chance.
Not to mention, in Fire Dragon King mode, Natsu just passively generates enough heat to make an entire lake evaporate just by being thrown over it without even touching the water! And as he got closer to his target, the heat was so intense that it literally started to disintegrate said target's clothes! And Natsu wasn't even hitting said target with fire yet, that was all just from the heat that he was passively generating!
that cat following natsu is named happy. natsu found happy's egg (don't ask) and helped hatch it. they're best friends, and Happy can fly natsu around without triggering his motion sickness... somehow.
I've never understood why they decided to put someone who can only attack with fire and who can turn himself into fire, against someone who literally eat fire to get stronger, has a body heat hot enough to melt a stadium without even going into one of his modes (which he had 4 back then, they just didn't talked about the 4th one), and whose flame canonically get stronger with his emotions (an ancient magic called "Flames of Emotions"). Natsu also used his flames at one point to form a hand and pulled himself from a ravine as he was falling into it. In the second episode, his flames were also hot enough to melt an axe, which he used to refill his magic tank. Then there's the elephant in the room. Natsu uses Dragon Slayer magic, an ancient and lost magic art thought to humans by dragons to turns them into a human-dragon hybrid strong enough to kill evil dragons. Their nails act as claws to mold their element, their lungs are strengthen to breath their element, and their body act as scale to protect them against their element. Because of that, Dragon Slayers eat and are immune to the element they use. Basically, if someone's flames aren't stronger than the Fire Dragon King's flame itself, they can't hurt Natsu. Also, well, 2 of Natsu's strongest form at the time they made this were specifically said to be strong enough to kill an immortal : his Fire Dragon King Mode (which was the leftover of Igneel's magic and was used in this fight), and his true demon form/ E.N.D. form (specifically made by his brother to break his immortality curse). Like, Ace literally couldn't make a scratch on Natsu even if he wanted to. It was like a level 10 Fire Mage trying to take down a level 100 Fire Mage.
I don't think he got any magic back with that piece of metal he melted off from the axe, I think he caught it in the mouth just to spit as a projectile to distract the axe guy.
18:30 Actually Natsu CAN touch Ace in his fire form, in the beginning of the Fairy Tail series Happy said that Natsu's skin was able to grab fire as if it were a physical object. Natsu might as well have had Armorment Haki.

So many joke about One Piece having so many episodes... but there's an anime about a woman and her family that's been running since the 1970's called Sazae-san.... And it's STILL ongoing. It's THE longest running animated series to date.... even longer than heavyweights like THE SIMPSONS... Sazae-san has almost 3000 episodes...
Fun fact, both have English voices that you have heard before! Natsu has the same voice actor as Ling from Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ace, ironically, has Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist!

here is a little issue with their understanding of logias: most logia DF users don't need to be conscioussly aware of being attacked. if a user has enough experience, they don't need to be aware that they are being attacked and can just phase their bodies on instinct. like admiral kizaru. kizaru has the glint-glint fruit, making him a light man. in his introduction, while he was trying to contact his subordinate, a pirate took a shot at him with a rifle. the bullet passed through his head and kizaru didn't even realize he was being attacked. and ace had enough experience to do such a thing. also, when he died saving his brother, it's not he simply allowed himself to take the hit, but he had no choice. logia users can be countered if they meet someone with a element that counters his. the man who killed him, admiral akainu, was a magma logia user and thus, his heat burned at a much higher temp than ace's fire, thus allowing him to be hurt. also, their claim that ace had forgotten what pain was is flawed. ace has been hurt before as a DF user and the time between those instants wasn't long enough for him to forget what pain felt like. not disputing the result of the fight. just that the boys got a lot of things wrong about ace and his powers.
yeeeeah~ no 14:04 Jinbei is actually a Fishman, not a DF user. he is a merman like species that takes traits from fish like breathing underwater or swimming really fast and using fishmen karate, which manipulates the water around him. see, One Piece also has many different races. sure, there are still humans like Ace and Luffy, but there are also Giants, Mermaids and Fishmen and even extreme humans with long limbs like long necks or extra arm joints AKA Long Arm Tribe. yeah, it's weird but it honestly fleshes out the world.

it's not 100% confirmed how or where they came from, but pretty much Devil Fruits are mysterious...well, fruits that just appear. once you eat one, you gain either amazing abilities or ones that seem bad at first but can be pretty terrifying in the wrong hands. and if you die, they just kind of get reincarnated into whatever fruit is near by so another user can gain that power. they come in three categories: the first fruit group are Paramecia (pair-a-me-sea-a): this is just like the basic types of powers ranging from turning your entire body to rubber, being able to produce material like wax or turn things into other things like literal food or toys. sure, a lot of them are just what happens to the body like there's this one character name Buggy the Clown who has the Chop Chop Fruit which allows him to be unharmed by blades and able to make body parts float except he's feet. my personal favorite is one that allows the user to become a living castle. you look normal on the outside, but inside: you become a fortress where you can hide supplies, vehicles and your own crew and that's the less crazy part of the power. the second group is Logia (low-gi-a): they are the powers that grant the user elemental powers, allowing the user to produce, control and become the elements themselves. that's Ace's fruit and is one of the more powerful fruits since, unless you use specific weaknesses to them (like fire to ice, water to fire, etc.), they are pretty much unkillable...well~ except for Haki, which that's a whole other story for another day. and trust me: Ace's fire power is seen as strong, but seeing as there's ice, lava and lightning itself, he's is pretty simple. now the last group is Zoans (it sounds a bit like Zone): and they are the most straight forward: the user turns into either their normal human (or animal) form, a hybrid of the two and a full animal form. i say animal because humans aren't the only thing that can "eat" Zoan fruits (i mean, technically~ Anything in One Piece can eat a fruit, but Zoans seam to be the most used and i have theories why, but let's move on). pretty much weapons like swords, bazookas and even freaking balls of toxic sludge can become sentient once they "eat" a fruit and there's even human fruits like the one the Straw Hat's Doctor, Tony Tony Chopper the Reindeer, ate and became a Reindeer Human that gained the intelligence of a human as well as the strengths of a peak human. there's also sub species of zoans like different breeds of dogs, cats, birds, etc. as well as different rarities of Zoans like Ancient types, which grants the user extinct animals like freaking Dinosaurs, and Mythicals, which pretty much grant the user animals that aren't real like a Phoenix.

There's also Case Closed/Detective Conan. It's still in publication after 30-31 years, has more chapters and more episodes than One Piece, has 26 movies with a 27th on the way, yet I could probably count on my hands the number of time I've seen it being brought up.
Lets all be honest natsu is ace's natural enemy no matter how strong ac'e fire power is he would of still lost cause natsu can eat a endless amount of fire and all the extra amount of magic will give natsu the power to go into dragon force give him more strength if ace used more fire and ace wouldnt be able to rely on his transformation to save himself
When it comes to one piece would you want an amazing show to end to soon or would you want it to keep going without a drop in quality that is why even with its length you should get into one piece even if you watch it at your own time or even 1 episode a year it is all worth it in the end that I can promise. (also the rap is FIRE!)
I'm currently caught up with One Piece. The newest episode so far is 996 and while it is a great show that I highly recommend, it takes a lot of commitment to start the show but if you do you won't regret it.

Fairy Tail Information. Centuries ago, there were dragons divided between good dragons that liked humans and evil dragons that wanted to destroy and/or devour humans. The problem was the evil dragons were stronger and more vicious (think barbarian). A solution came when Queen Irene of the Dragnof Kingdom asked the sage dragon Belserion to teach her dragon magic, becoming the First Dragon Slayer. The dragon slayers turned the tide but they learned that Dragon Slayer magic had a price. Eventually a Dragon Slayer becomes a Dragons. One of these dragon slayers, a former doctor to the arcane dragon, became the Black Dragon of Apocalypse Acnologia (the other main villain of Fairy Tail with Zeref). As the Arcane Dragon he did not possess a fixed element like say Fire or Lightning, instead he could absorb all forms of magic. Arcologia went on to slaughter ALL Dragons - Good, Evil, and Slayers - becoming the Dragon King. Igneel and his friends worrying about there children asked Zeref for help. Zeref is a cursed immortal who is obssessed with either killing himself (which is why he created increasingly dangerous demons - The Etherious) or changing the past (time travel). The Eclipse Gate was one of those failed attempts, but with the help of a Celestial Spirit Mage (someone who can summons the animals of Zodiac using golden keys) Anna Heartfilia, it acted as a time capsule. In the future, Layla Heartfilia opened the Gate, but she lacked all of the Keys, so she was drained and the children of Dragons (the child dragonslayers including Natsu) were scattered. He can idk why he didn’t eat ace in the start but anyways his lighting powers came from Laxus a lightning dragon slayer and he is able to use his lighting based abilities with dragon slayer magic(fire) and now Natsu has way better feats than eating fire he flames hotter than any other flames and he can burn souls and time
This episode is one my personal favorites. By the time it aired, they were pretty even in stats... But, Natsu's fire resistance/absorption made it his win. Right now it's clearly in Natsu's favor BTW it's a lot easier to get up to date by reading One Piece instead of watching the anime with all the filler/padding
About the Karate Fish Man because I can: In One Piece there is a couple other humanoid races, one of which is the Fishfolk (technically Fishmen but I prefer calling them this). They're more or less humans physically but with various traits based off various types of sea life, mostly fish, but with some occasional cephalopods. The Type of sea life they have traits from varies from family to family even if they're still the same species regardless, kinda like Breeds in Domestic Dogs. The Fish Man Ace was fighting is called Jinbe, a Whale Shark Fish Man and one of the more important/prominent Fishfolk characters. Jinbe is a master of a martial art called "Fish Man Karate", silly name aside it's designed to take advantage of Fish Folk physiology regardless of Type, and the manipulation of natural water, even water in the air, which certainly helped even the playing field in their fight. Why were they fighting? Short answer, Ace (for certain reasons) wanted to fight a guy named Edward Newgate who was protecting Fish-Man Island, the home of Jinbe and most Fishfolk and Merfolk (yes Merfolk are a thing too and they're seperate things) in general. Jinbe out of respect for Newgate fought Ace in the man's place.
Ace can Low Key beat Natsu because Ace became a Notorious Pirate way before he gain a devil fruit so it wouldn't be surprising if fire doesn't work Ace would beat him down physically and Lightning attacks hurting Ace is bullshit because Lightning can't hit Fire and Fire can't touch Lightning so it would be like a Smoker situation where neither can touch the other. And yes Natsu is more brawler like in fighting style but Ace trained with a Brawler being Luffy. The only way Natsu can actually beat Ace is to throw him into the sea because unlike how Death Battle thinks Logia works, Logia can only be harmed by there natural opposites in Ace's case being water or Ice, another by a more superior element Magma which is molten rock so fire can't hurt it or Haki which can be countered if the other guy's Haki is stronger.
Ngl I don’t think Ace even has a chance to beat Natsu, He has gotten way stronger than before and your right about lightning not being able to affect Ace because it would go through him due to his logia defenses but Natsu has done some pretty insane feats his flames aren’t any ordinary flames because he was able to burn TIME with his flames and his Flames are hotter than normal flames meaning that he would be able to burn Ace Akainu said that Magma burns hotter than flames and he was able to damage Ace due to that fact and Ace wouldn’t even be able to damage Natsu any flame based attacks Ace throws at Natsu wouldn’t matter because Natsu could simply just eat his attacks and even if his attacks were to land on Natsu it wouldn’t even damage him(it would make him stronger) and once again Natsus flames are capable of burning souls so his logia advantages wouldn’t matter because spiritual attacks are able to damage any logia users because it doesn’t aim for the physical body it aims for the SOUL and Natsu also has better combat skills than Ace Ik that Ace trained with Garp as a kid but Natsu uses most of his flame attacks in a combat style and despite Ace having conquerors haki we’ve never really seen him use it crazily and happy states that Natsu can hold fire as a object and weapons

One of the only things I know about Fairy Tail that doesn't come from Death Battle is that there's a character named Elfman Strauss, who somehow, despite being named after two iconic composers, is *not* musically themed. I feel like they wasted that name. One Piece is full of absolutely ridiculous feats of sheer willpower. Like, almost anything is possible through willpower. ...almost.
Ngl Sabo gets obliterated currently because any fire based attack Sabo throws at Natsu wouldn’t damage him and Natsu has gotten wayyyy stronger too, haki wouldn’t even be able to save Sabo because Natsu is able to burn TIME and souls with his flames and his flames are hotter than normal flames and he has the lightning of Laxus

That dragon wasn't made OF fire, it was just cloaked in it. There was at least a skeleton in there. Atlas Flame is kind of a weird dragon, and it's a FIRE DRAGON fighting a FIRE DRAGON SLAYER so presumably that has some special interaction. It's not like Natsu could hurt him at the level he was at anyway. Ace would presumably still be able to avoid his regular attacks by turning into fire. Ace's fire form is more like regular fire, where Atlas Flame's body is certainly not.

As you so stupidly put it, fire is fire is completely WRONG. Fire is most certainly NOT just fire when it's FUCKING HELLFIRE. You can't just look at a SUPREMELY magical world and go "Eh, everything's super simple and straightforward". Doing that is the key to egotistical idiocy. Atlas Flame's body is magically generated and probably shaped largely by his soul. It's very fucking impressive you managed to contradict yourself so fast by the way. Dragon slayer magic, attacks a dragon's soul. Dragon slayer magic, can't attack a dragon's soul. Are you really this daft? lastly, Atlas Flame, walks on the ground. If his body was not more solid than just regular fire, that would be impossible. FUCKING MAGIC, how does that work?

This one was so obvious, even to me. And I hadn't seen either series when this one came out. Still don't agree with the Erza vs Zoro death battle, which again, I didn't agree with even before I watched both series, but I know I'm in a minority there so I don't bother arguing about it.

The karate fishman doesn't have a devil fruit he's just a fishman who knows karate because they exist in one piece because they are fish and are also men
Honestly, if this battle were done today, it'd be a lot closer. We've seen Logia users reform their entire body from a mere scrap, and have seen the incredible level of power of certain foes that Ace matched in combat or was shown to be on the same level as. Even taking new Fairy Tail feats into account, one really good hit would probably be enough to kill Natsu. That being said, Natsu's inherent advantages with his fire-eating that increases his own power with no real limit, plus his lightning attacks that would guarantee hits no matter where Ace was on the battlefield or what his form was, it's generally agreed that he still takes the win. Watching every One Piece episode isn't as crazy as it sounds once you get into the show. I've known people who have caught up to the show while working full-time jobs in just a matter of months. And it's super-worth-it. One of the best shows ever released, and it only gets better as it goes on. On a side note, you're the only person I've ever seen actively avoid that spoiler. It's funny, but also appreciated.
No, he ate pure crystallized chunks of magic as well as lightning magic. Natsu can really just eat MAGIC, fire is just the element he's purpose built to eat, while other elements are quite difficult to handle.
One Piece is fantastic, i totally recommend you read the manga, or if you prefer, watch the anime (although it has terrible pacing the anime is still quite good, although i personally always recommend the manga, as it has none of the anime's pacing issues, and i think the manga is just the best way to experience One Piece). It has over 1000 chapters right now, and is closing it at around 1000 episodes very soon, but the experience is totally worth the time you have to commit to it. It is the most popular comic/manga at the moment, outselling even Batman, Superman and Spiderman in weekly sales, and it already surpassed both Batman and Spiderman in lifetime sales. Also, since you enjoy My Hero Academia so much, you will be plesed to know, that the mangaka (aka. the author and illustrator) of My Hero Academia is also a huge One Piece fan, and his first published drawing was fanart he did of One Piece, which was published in the official One Piece fanart section of the manga, which was long before he even started My Hero Academia.
the one thing I disagree with in this fight is Natsu using Lightning magic. It is stated he needs to "eat" lightning before he can cast it, so i find it kinda bullshit that he just uses it without that prerequisite in this fight
@@simvleusen Don't know why is says that cause lightning was the only other element he's eaten. Once he did that he just permanently had Lightning Flame Dragon Mode. Not gonna pretend it makes sense cause it really doesn't.
@@simvleusen It's not an exception. He ate lightning from Laxus, a lightning dragon slayer, and after that point he developed the ability to enter lighting fire dragon mode when he needs to. He couldn't enter like, shadow fire dragon mode unless he ate Rogue's shadow. He hasn't, so he doesn't enter that mode. Gajeel however, HAS done exactly that, and due to that he gained the ability to enter shadow iron dragon mode at will.
I had to make a separate comment. Yah the Devil Fruits are rare, you can only eat one, if you already ate one and try to eat another one you'll explode. There is a book about the Devil Fruit but it has little information on them. There are Tree types Logia that the one ace had (Mera Mera no Mi or Flame Flame Fruit) allow the holder to turn in to a element or substrings Zoan that the guy who was a giraffe allow them to turn in to animal even mythical animals like a phoenix. The moss common one is Paramecia and it hard for me to explain it, but the person can do usual thing like starching or removing limbs/body parts. My two favorite are the Chiri Chiri no Mi (Dust Dust) because I live in the desert and the Goro Goro no Mi (Lighting Lighting) because SPEED
@@donniehamilton7797 I was thinking of that too, because of Duck liking speed, but I think lighting is more useable like charging my phone, or if a blackout I can keep my ice cream cold in the fridge
