One Piece is the Greatest Piece of Fiction Ever!!

Yea this happened to me too I always thought it's too long but then a friend of mine told me about how the one piece reveal would be the biggest thing in modern pop culture history so I thought I'd start before it was too late and wouldn't you know it, it quickly grew on me and after 2 months I just finished Fishman Island and I'm heading to punk hazard. It's definitely my favorite anime of all time now and starting it will forever be one of the best decisions I made lol.

Discovered anime in 2014 with "Initial D" and watched a bunch of short and fun shows until I got to "Bleach." Boy, I enjoyed it so much that I read the manga and novels daily until I finished them. People recommended that I watch "Naruto" and, most of all, "One Piece." At first, I hesitated, but as some friends in my cinema school recommended it, I jumped on "Naruto." I watched it all the way to the end and disliked it profoundly because of the careless writing of Kishimoto, taped with some philosophical stuff that was supposed to make it good? With a main character who was beyond detestable in his decision-making but still a great human being. The thing that upset me the most was the yuppie storytelling that got more and more sloppy as we watched the show, reaching the peak of nonsense at the end of the series. After that big disappointment, I decided to watch "One Piece" to see what it was really about. And boy, once I got to Alabasta, I watched the whole show in 4 months and read the scans. Oda never left anything aside; he wrote everything so it leads you to something. Alabasta was preparing for Water 7 and Enies Lobby; Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, and all the others all prepared us for Wano with big clues along the way, and even Wano was teasing for what we’re seeing now. Insane foreshadowing from the first tome. Oda truly put the greatest effort I have ever seen in any media, with passion, flawless writing, and unprecedented storytelling. The villains are human and do things for a reason, not just because their brother was a mean guy. Everything, down to the last detail, is done in perfect harmony with all the lore he built. Nothing can be reproached to Oda, nothing. He just wrote evrything with the sole purpose that only he knows.

I agree. I think OP is a wof art and maybe the greatest work of art of all time. It's certainly the greatest work of storytelling of all time.

I honestly thought one piece was not that good likes good but not all that you know peak fiction there really is to much drag in the show to say it’s peak fiction i still like one piece but glad people enjoy it like you and this video showed me some of the stuff I missed so thanks

Oda could be a good writer for coming up with character design, powers etc. But One Piece is definetely not "peak fiction". If you all read just (kids) mangas of course this seems peak fiction to you. One piece has nothing behind. There is no interesting message, philosophy and so on. In fact if you read or don't read One Piece, it's not like you miss something or change views. No dialogue is interesting they're the same from the beginning, there are some exception here and there, but they are very rare (Nico Robin's "I want to live", is one of them). Same goes for the characters. There isn't really a development, just power ups. Even the World Building is not that amazing as people think. Just try yourself to create a fantasy world, and you'll see how many ideas you'll have, especially if the worlds inside this world are disconnected like in One Piece. It's not like there is an intricate complexity and connection between each island. Every island is a separated world from each other, it's literally world building mode easy. To understand, imagine having to create a city compared to having to create a nation. As I said, Oda's power is definetely the ability to come up with so many and different charscters from a design pov.
