Boa Hancock's part is so darn clever. Just from looking at the op you can't guess if she is an ally or not, while you can easily guess that Margaret will be a friend to Luffy.

I like how the Boa and Luffy scene reflects their dynamic. Boa staring intensely and intimately while Luffy stares blankly /obliviously 😂😂

This is the most one piece opening one piece can ever have.

Hancock's part still gives me chills no matter how many times I watch it.

The visuals tell the story of this arc so well. Starting off with a lighthearted, fun, touristy vibe and slowly getting darker and more serious as more characters are introduced. Plus the song is a masterpiece.

anybody notice how sanji and zoro were fighting for the surf board and after luffy, chooper and brook get in trouble. sanji and zoro are crying cause they broke the board. 1:06 if you missed it.

たまに聞きたくなるこの曲

at least It is considered to be One Piece's peak era before Nika came out. This opening was something I heard and saw a lot when the animation was airing in 2010. I later found out that Korea's TVXQ sang this opening song. I was in the third year of middle school. Boa Hancock was very pretty and Rayleigh"s appearance was also very cool. The scene where Luffy hits the Celestial Dragon seems to well depict his desperation to rescue Ace.

this is the opening that basically says "sh!ts gettin real."

this opening makes me so happy. it feels like it was only yesterday i started one piece. best story ever written ❤

12 years later and this intro still gives me goosebumps, it's one of the only intros that has a serious tone from beginning to the end! but also now knowing pretty much Ace dies in the end, it only makes this intro even more sadder.

Brings back memories!

Starting from 2:02, that's an amazing sequence of animation frames; I like how you can kind of imagine the desperation in him to save his brother Ace; that coupled with the music goes together really well. This is a one piece peak opening in my opinion, no other opening songs as melodic, or has as much rain and rhythm as this one; plus this one is for more catchier than any of the other ones.

This is my all-time favorite One Piece opening. The music fits my taste, the animation is satisfying and makes me feel emotions. It makes me feel rlly sad actually, cuz I know luffy is literally 17 in this and this is getting really close to the nightmare that ended up being the paramount war. This felt so, like, hopeful and powerful, and it hurts cuz i know that all goes down the drain later on. LOVE IT!

This opening started out Soo stylish!!! The baby xylophone at the start was so touching and cute! And then how the skipping beat changed it!! At 0:15 the _Come on let's go baby baby oh we share the one dream! Come on let's go baby baby oh we share the One World!_ was really memorable!!

Still hits different to this day

Just the amount of characterization you get from this sequence blows me away 0:55 - 1:06 . Sanji and Zoro fighting over the surfboard as Luffy wipes out on his own. Then Chopper and Brook (only other straw hats to have devil fruit powers) jumping in the ocean to save Luffy only for Usopp and Franky to have to save the both of them since they cant swim either. We can also see that the surfboard Sanji and Zoro were fighting over is now broken in half along with both of their spirits.

Easily one of my top one piece OP's.

Its 4:09 am, can't sleep for shit, and decided to boot up this fucking classic. No ones gonna read this so ima use it as a weird diary of sorts real quick. I will never forget getting hyped up for high school football games/practice watching this opening, the We Are remix, and Opening 12 on my iPod nano 3rd gen fucking 2 inch screen haha. This was the first "new" opening I remember seeing back then and downloaded it so fast lol. I remember being absolutely mind blown I can watch one piece in the back of the car. Things were so different then. My biggest worries were asking out a crush, looking cool in front of friends, and getting through school. Always had these openings to hype me tf up though, and they never let me down. 12 years later and they somehow still make me feel the same way. One piece is so good man

My favorite One Piece OP, as this arc basically got me hooked into One Piece

2:15 just hit differently. Imagine if Ace wasn't Luffy's brother but was interested in him and they were rivals and at some point in the anime they fought it out. That would be lowkey baddest fight in anime history.

I started watching anime around when this opening came out and I swear. This song was EVERYWHERE back then. Now I finally am watching One Piece 11 years later and this song is so nostalgic. Thanks to being on the internets anime community back then I got all those spoilers as those episodes came out sadly. This song is bloody amazing

The one thing that i always liked about this opening is the text in the backround of every charater. I feel like this is oda's description of each of them if one piece were a novel.

I like when luffy falls off the surf board the only ones to jump in to save him are chopper and brook at least there willing to risk their lives to save luffy
