Here we see Smoker single-highhandedly become one of the most awesome marines in the entire show. The guy has a uprising amount of respect towards his enemy.
Ur right, but at this point in time he couldn't do anything to stop it. Fujitora on the other hand didn't only make sakazuki eat shit, he also made it impossible to cover up the incident by livestreaming it all over the world and saying the truth
@@Silver_meteor0418 at that time., Smoker is only a captain and not have Big authority in Marine HQ., you can't compare Smoker to Fujitora whom an Admiral (one of the most powerfull marine) & have High/Big authority power in Marine & World
Smoker is a favorite of mine because of this scene. The dude has so much honor and integrity. He did not accept a promotion he didn't earn. He's a legend.
Also, if Smoker had taken the promotion, it would have been a bribe. Also, Smoker would have been on the World Government's leash for the rest of his life. If Smoker tried to go against them, they would have blackmail him about his bribery or throw him under the bus and act like Smoker was corrupted not them. What Smoker did by rejecting promotion/bribery was a smart decision Smoker did!
@@AH-is5yg true. Even in Punk Hazard, he told everyone that “even the Marine isn’t immune from corruption” showing how realistic and honest he is. He knows his priorities.
@@devantemungin7060If you’re talking about the war the marines was for sure the victors. Whitebeard died, Ace died, entire fleets and crews disolved while not losing a single higher up marine. The only thing they lost was the HQ and that could be rebuilt. They’re plan was successful. Fire fist Ace was executed.
@@Retro4Bit The Marines might've won, but the Whitebeard Pirates did accomplish in protecting Luffy, the last remnants of Ace, and in a way help him become the super powerful Yonko he is now and a brand new headache for the Marines, not to mention that Whitebeard's last words made certain that the Great Pirate Era continued on and made more pirate determined to claim the one piece, so as long term effects go, you could say that the remaining remnants of the Whitebeard Fleet have the last laugh so to speak. The Marines ultimate goal during the war was to end the Great Pirate Era once Whitebeard died, but they failed in the end, so they may have won the "battle" (Marineford War), but not the "war" (Great Pirate Era).
Smoker is the one of the few top Marine soldiers who isn’t corrupt, but also has a huge sense of justice to not take credit of something he hasn’t done himself.

So in skypiea ussop nami and sanji were on enel ship now they were trying to escape and enel struck and nami and ussop but sanji jumped into the way to protect them but nami was worried about sanji so as a reassurance he said thanks for the light saying that enel 200million volt attack to him was like a cigarette light
When I first watched this episode I wasn't too fond of smoker I just thought he was a regular marine dude who is going after the straw hats, but after this scene my respect for him when is high as Zorro.... even though he's a Marine he doesn't take credit when he didn't earn it he's got honour and he's not afraid to tell his superiors to go to hell I really hope in the next episodes after chapter 1000 we see him rebel against the Marines a little bit especially the corruption .....SMOKER , YOU TELL EM
So you didn’t recall that little girl who smeared her ice cream on his pants and not only did he apologize, saying that his pants ate her ice cream but he gave her some money to replace the ice cream she lost?
@Dark 4715 the original commenter isn't talking about strength, but relation. Luffy is roger to smoker, as if smoker is garp to luffy. If you want to look at your way then luffy is also far from garp's level just yet.
Wow, never in a lifetime, that I thought, that Smoker would choose his honour as a marines, over his hate on the Pirates. I thought Smoker is an asshole, but I was wrong, he is a badass(good).
Smoker is more of jerk with a gold heart and tough love. He is only hard on Tashigi because she only she can handle being a marine and he trust her the most.
When the dressrossa incident concluded and the straw hats get the credit this time, smoker was pretty happy and said that he'll be feeling joy for a week.
Smokers scene here and the conversation he had with tashigi before about trusting her instincts is what makes smoker one of my favorites thus far in my 180 eps in. Most superiors would have reprimanded their subordinates for not delivering the desired task. He took the time to tell her that yes we didn’t achieve any of what we came here for but you trusted your instincts and did what was best in that moment. Please let smoker bet this good if not get better.
“Tell them I said go to hell.” The next time he’ll say that line will be after finding out what the world government’s been hiding then quite to be a real man of justice and 🤞join the straw hat fleet.
I prefer the Funimation dub over the sub, but damn, the ending of this scene was better in japanese. "TELL THEM TO EAT SHIT!" sounds much better than "Tell them I said go to hell."
To be fair Smoker was already a Captain prior to being promoted to Commodore, the only other ranks after that are rear, vice and plain admirals. Since the promotion was more of a cover up , it makes sense for why the 1 rank promotion as the government wouldn’t want to raise anyone too high up for what’s essentially a publicity stunt.
@@BlueBlazeKing I actually think a higher promotion (maybe Rear Admiral) would make it less suspicious. Taking down a Warlord is a pretty big deal and the magnitude of Crocodile's crimes was exposed to the public. But not too fussed about it either way haha.
Koby, Helmeppo, Tashigi and Smoker are the only ones who has a heart and a mind in the marines. They were the onlys ones in marineford knowing whole war was pointless and stupid. (There is that Jonathan but he’s a filler character)
After all his L's in the new world, smoker really need a bigtime upgrade... dude needs to learn advance armanent and observation if wants to catch up with luffy.
Tells the top brass to shove it for trying to give him “honor” he did not earn Gives money to a kid after his pants ate the poor kids ice cream even paid for an extra 2 scoops Worked under his lieutenant who was now captain just to save a bunch of kids returning them to the family’s all the while working with a rag tag crew that the navy rejected but he took in… Ladies gentleman and all other beautiful people we have one of the good ones on the “villain” side (I say villain because our “heros” are ment to be the villains due to being pirates)
Why does Smoker even care about this It's not like the Strawhats cared about this either, and everything turned out right in the end, Arabasta is safe, Vivi is home, all of Baroque works were defeated heck Even Crocodile was stripped of his position so why does it matter Edit: I mean why should it be a good thing they're actions in Dressrosa are out, Luffy wants to be a pirate not a hero
Wano is overly animated because people that are fans of Legend of Korra and One Piece seems to think having the best animation in the world is what makes the series enjoyable to watch whenever people that hate Legend of Korra like myself and Mysterious Mr.Enter points out that a good story can save bad animation, but good animation can’t save a terrible story.
Bro how is wano animated the whole one piece is poorely animated and poorely paced and when the one arc is animated like on piece deserves yall complaining😭
