A few news stations took them to be tested. Each were found to only need 2.5. You should do more research!

@@Tvstuffreviews The point is that eye doctors have machines to check the magnification (to offer fact, not "opinion"). These are ONLY 2.5 magnification. A bit more research before posting--whether from your optometrist or many other online reviews--might help you not become part of a scam. From what I have seen, these are good if you want a 2.5X reader. However, their false advertising of correcting from .5 to 2.5 should be brought to the attention of the Federal Trade Commission.

Thank you! Great advice! But did you consider that they are not the typical Dollar Tree reading glasses? How do you feel about the Flex Focus Optic science? They claim: "The secret is Flex Focus Optic science. The technology designs each lens with a range of corrections from .5 to 2.5. Your eye automatically looks through the lens and finds the right spot where the correction is right for you, so you can focus and read clearly."

Well, like I said, they'd be good for arts and craft uses ( short term use ) for long term use it's best to use prescribed glasses. I have a magnified jewelers visor that I use for working on small devices and such I have and use over 20 different kinds of magnifiers , I work with crystals , tiny motors , fossils and other things.@@Tvstuffreviews

Wow that's really neat! You must have to use the magnifiers for long periods of time, do they bother your eyes? (eye strain)

I never use them for more than 10 minutes at a time. they're just for the tiniest of details !@@Tvstuffreviews

Makes sense 😃 I would think that at times it could get hard to pull yourself away if you are really into working on a complicated fine detail project. At least I know I'd find it difficult 😉

I've got that right *now* with a nearly $300 pair (after insurance coverage) of progressive (bifocal) _prescription_ lenses crafted and purchased from WVC (my eye doctor's optical wanted $600!! 🤯 for what they describe as a "complex" prescription). I have severe astigmatism combined with over-40+ presbyopic effects-which you think might help cancel each other out just a bit after all this time; but, whatever. :( I have to tilt my head up at an uncomfortable, awkward angle (to look down and out of the bottom third or so) of the lens to see computer monitors or anything at a medium distance anything near the clarity they should be. And side vision? Forget it!! It's like everything's blurry except that one tiny "sweet spot" in the middle. I also have "floaters" from PVD (posterior vitreous detachment) since a few years ago. it's like a vertical "windshield wiper" effect (more pronounced in my right eye) when blinking that never fully goes away; and this has also negatively affected my vision. "You're cutting your eyes!..." they told me at the optical shop. The same "experts" who told me to "take them home and give yourself time to get used to them..." Yeah, riiiiight. I've never had to "point my nose" and/or look down (like a damn grey-headed librarian with specs on a chain) at everything I look at before; and I sure as heck don't plan to start now. I find myself constantly taking them off, swapping them out with older pairs (that don't correct as well for distance, but seem to do better overall mid-range and close-up); and it's just a doggone nuisance. And why is it so difficult to get larger frames and lenses these days? The only thing I really like about these is the "transitions" effect when outside in sunlight; which could be darker and more like true shades, but they're a lot better than nothing. I had a feeling that these "flex focus" things were too good to be true; but just thought I'd check anyway, since I've got another two to three weeks to decide on this current scrip. They've already remade them once; and my eye doctors' office checked the first pair and they were _way_ off on the PD centers. I've just about had it.

You're right! They are making print smaller and smaller these days. If normal reading glasses magnify the writing, these glasses will too, up to 2.5. The nice thing about these glasses is they offer .5 to 2.5 Strength Custom Correction in 1 Pair of glasses.

@barbbooks Excellent point about having Grandma review them. Lena's Grandma actually did go out and buy a pair; she loves them! 😃

You could also try on a cheap pair of readers at the Dollar Tree to see if they would work. The one power readers are much higher quality and appear to give a more crisp look though. 😃
