Lots of world building in this episode, and that was one of the most satisfying punches in the show for sure. Btw Luffy didn't even use a "Gomu-Gomu ..." attack, it was a simple punch, that's how ahead of Bellamy he was.

I’ve forgotten how epic was this episode. Besides Bellamy’s punch, we still get presented to some Warlords, to Sengoku, Whitebeard and even Blackbeard’s crew.

The Helmsman is the person responsible for piloting the ship, for the literal moment to moment directing of the ship through waves and weather. The other half to a ship's navigator, the Navigator plots the course and makes the plan, and the helmsman executes and adapts to present conditions to ensure maximum time and safety of the ship. Jesus Burgess is notable for being the first dedicated helmsman we see in the series. As for Roger, he was executed 20 years before the present day of the story, in what seems to have been the prime of his life. You will learn more about the circumstances and specifics of that later, but for now, it's fair to call Roger and Whitebeard contemporaries.

Btw…When a pirate becomes a warlord their bounty freezes to what it was at that time… so if warlords bounties were to never freeze crocodile bounty would be much higher…so don’t really underestimate crocodile, by no means is he weak

The thing with warlord, you can’t compare them just by the bounties. It depends on when they were offered to become a warlord. Some were offered at the time when their bounty is still low but showed potential; some were offered at a much later time after their bounty had increased by much. After becoming a warlord, their bounty is frozen. So yeah, crocodile is cocky because he is strong. despite the bounties of other warlords, he is on par with them

This was quite a good discussion you guys have. This is one of the epic episodes of One piece. It introduced & showed so many Legendary characters that if any 2 of them appear now in the chapter that chapter is considers 10/10 chapter

here to explain a bit of the marine ranks, idk if anyone has done this yet but to help you guys know how important sengoku is; from highest going down: Fleet Admiral - the very top of the ranks, only 1 person, its sengoku Admirals - 3 strongest marine officials, works directly under the world government too Vice Admirals Rear Admirals Commodores Captains Commanders Lieutenant Commander and a few more lower this was explained by oda early in the SBS and i dont think the anime has ever rly explained it so yeah! i personally was a bit confused whenever they show marines w ranks and it wasnt until much later in the arcs that i realized theyre actually important lol

Luffy pretty much always uses his devil fruit even against nameless cannon fodder so the fact that he took down Bellamy with a single mundane punch was the ultimate flex

Whitebeard is super strong. His blow nearly destroyed the Navy Headquarters. The three generals under Sengoku are also super strong. One of the generals and the Straw Hat Pirates fought, but Luffy and his friends were unable to win.

the way i see it most of the warlords are about the same threat level so even though crocodile is weaker than doflamingo and some other warlords his intelligence makes up for it im sure u guys remember how insane crocodile was with his backup plans to backup plans to backup plans

I think you missed an information Blackbeards actual name is Marshal D. Teach. He is from the D. family.

Its dangerous for those two to make contact because they consider all possibilities like what if those two will come up with some crazy sht like ally themselves and start a war against the navy or some sht and they can't afford to let that happen because they can't handle 2 emperors at the same time.

Man some one first clear their concept of bounties , it's pissing me off.

It's what they say "Be scared when Zoro is smiling and Luffy is not". One shot on Bellamy without even using his Gum-Gum powers. That was just a normal punch from Luffy and it shows how far their differences in strength is. I must say, this is one of Luffy's most satisfying punch in the whole series. I have another favorite. It involves a dragon in an archipelago 🤣🤣🤣

I imagine Oda left out Mihawks bounty as there would be no benefit for him to give him a bounty at this point in the series when Mihawk isn't even that relevant. All the possible options would have just limited Oda from writing wise for no reason. Too big bounty would have forced him to artificially rise the bounties and powers of the future characters, instead of letting them form naturally in his mind. Too small bounty would have limited himself in situations where the bounties and "powerlevels" would have naturally increased due to where the story was going. A small former bounty from years ago would have been the least damaging thing for Oda, but I can see him not wanting to give any details for such important character this early in the story, when that might then restrict him from writing certain things due to time line issues in the story etc. Also a too high bounty for too many characters this early might make audience care less about other new characters whose bounties aren't as big as the warlords. Essentially there was no benefit in doing it. You couldn't even scale anything since the bounties are frozen. Every warlord could potentially have much higher bounties if they were given updated ones.

That's the only thing about Oda's writing that drives me crazy. The existence of "Good Pirates" vs. "Bad Pirates". What is a good pirate in real life? What is a good criminal in real life vs a bad criminal? What is a good bank robber vs. a bad bank robber? What is a good rapist vs. a bad rapist? I don't think Oda really knows what a "pirate" even is.. Even until the latest episodes, Luffy has been the goody-too shoes that has committed no crime other than maybe dine and dash - he's not a pirate, he's pretty much just a sailor who conveniently became a "pirate" out of title
