And if you do have a quiver, consider getting quiver killer or binding freedom blind ended threaded inserts, so the binding can be swopped over at will.

Hah! There is nothing more depressing in the fall suicide season than walking into a ski-shop and seeing the Wall Full O' Fats...like the wall behind you. The public are average and need something that Pivots and Skids! The companies have chopped up the market into an overgrowth of similar items. Use the right ski for the right job. I have as much fun on a groomer as knee-deep. A 'race SL' that is a bit less rabid than FIS: Your Curve or Nordica SLR for example; And a Master's GS that is not 30 meters; but 18-19-21-23 = Nord GSR or Fish RC4 RC. There ain't nuthin' like 66-68mm underfoot. There ain't nuthin' like an easy GS in shin-deep cold snow either!! BUT: this does look really dumb when the snow is wet n' heavy. The other Factor is a 40-45mm Side-cut for a real Arc. 'My fats carve' is nonsense; you don't know what yer missing. When I see a hunnerd underfoot and it hasn't snowed for ten days; I Know something's wrong. If I was gonna have a 1-ski; it would be my Fisher ProMtn 95. This ski has decent-really decent GS; but at its Limit on groomers; it starts to Porpoise. This is due to The Width. I got a dozen and sometimes I walk home in 5 minutes and swap... But Every morning we make the phone-call and discuss-argue about What Type to bring.

1 ski quiver is for Apres' skiers. If you take this sport seriously, get a quiver of 3+.

Very well done, great explanation on the differences as well as good insights as to choosing one or several skis. Most of my friends out here in the West have 2 pairs, a ~95mm waist all mountain and a ~108-112mm powder ski. Some of them also get a 86mm or less racing-type ski for those groomer days. Looks like a collection of all mountain skis on the wall behind you? I think I saw a Ranger 96 and an Enforcer 100?

Good eye @PaulBeiser, you nailed the Ranger 96. The Enforcers on the viewers right are Enforcer 94's.. so you were damn close. The 100's are a bit more red for the 23/24 season. theskimonster.com/products/nordica-enforcer-94/ theskimonster.com/products/nordica-enforcer-100/

Well said. For me in Icy condition days I would bring Fischer Curve DTX 72mm for a secured grip and avoid challenging moguls terrain. For most other days, I like to bring Blizzard Brahama 88mm with has camber and not too noodlely, the mountain condition changes a lot from top to bottom, some pockets can be powdery and some other spots are icy and tracked out. Even for the powder days I whip out Nordica Enforcer 100mm which has a backbone, floats well in a longer 186cm length for me, not the most fun skis to enjoy the powder though.

@ajtheguy, Have you been dreaming of a different set of powder skis? If so what has been high on your list?

Dream is a very accurate word used here. I skied 25+ days a season, definitely more than average , However I couldn’t justify to get myself a pair of fun dedicated powder skis . I have this mentality just get by with Enforcer 100 in the event of 2 or 3 powder days I can catch. I would like to try something has more fun factors, not heavy, otherwise it will just kill my quads. Bent chetler 110 or 120 is high in my book.

I mean the enforcer 100 is not a powder ski 😂
