One of the best bits of advice I've ever gotten from you has nothing to do with actives, brands, or anything. It's about enjoying the experience of the products you're using. That's how I went from someone who didn't even wash her face to someone who has a full routine, dramatically improved skin and real knowledge of products. Without the enjoyment factor this would have never become my favorite hobby and would have stayed a chore that I eventually slacked on doing. Its changed not only my physical skin quality and outward confidence but has changed how I feel on the inside too. It's my favorite self care. That was a little over 2 years ago. I owe a chunk of my mental health to this channel. I even do self care skin love stuff with my kiddo who's only 2.5. She loves lotions and pretends to use serums (water) and stuff with mom. Sending love from us to you.
Exactement!! That’s the best takeaway for me too!! Before I would always force myself to use a product just cuz of its ingredients & all but now it’s my personal experience and enjoyment that matters the most!! I love glow recipe for this reason
I love it! The first product you mention is my all time favourite cleansing balm... possibly favorite ever skin product! I look forward to using it. I switch out to try others sometimes (because I have to try all the new shiny things lol) but always come back to the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm. I also love the Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel. 😍🤩 I have the COSRX clarifying toner but haven't started in yet. Good to know you like it so!
I get so excited when I see you've posted a video 😊 it honestly means so much to have someone you can trust to tell you the truth when it comes to skincare 💗
James, are you planning on reviewing Scarlett Johansson's skin care line, The Outset, or are you not interested? I just would like an unbiased opinion of if it is worth the price, and I live for your reviews. 💜
R&R sun serum…I purchased it after you reviewed it and I love it!!! I’m very oily and most sunscreens just made it soo much worse including Krave Beauty. Others looked awful under makeup. I honestly used sunscreen because I knew I should but hates it. The R&R sun serum really is GREAT!! Doesn’t make me any more oily than my normal, wears really well under makeup and I can apply globs of it and it still looks great under makeup!!
Perfect routine, it’s so funny majority of these products I have been thinking about getting & I randomly watched this video and they were everything you used. Safe to say I will be going forward with my decision thanks to you boo! You could totally notice the difference with the eye patches, WOW! 😊
You can use it as a first step in a double cleanse, makeup or not, but you should be wearing SPF on your face every day that you can use the balm to remove :)
2 years ago, you changed my SKIN and CONFIDENCE. First time I watched you, via RU-vid. You were talking about GLOW RECIPE aka Your Top 4. 1st time I believed a RU-vid Review. I invested in Your Top Four. Watermelon Exfoliating Toner, Watermelon Spray, Watermelon Moisturizer and Watermelon Serum. I am 53. Your honest recommendation...2 years of Glow Recipe. I am so confident, all I've added if Glow Recipe Sunscreen (ROCKS!!) People think I'm younger and my skin beautiful. I go Nude Face, except for mascara and lip. That's 40 years of full makeup. One night, happened to come across you on RU-vid. Best part. Because of You...I have 6 other people who are addicted to Glow Recipe Watermelon Moisturizer, Spray and Lip Balm. Their skin has changed. You've helped 7 people know confidence and feel beautiful. I have to tell you, "THANK YOU!♡" You changed my life. I sincerely hope you realize I am not the only one. I know you've made a huge difference in other's lives...like me. I'm using my daily routine on my décolletage and neck. Do you have any suggestions? Peace and Grace, KFCutberth Coldwater, MS USA
@Robert Welsh enjoying this, as usual. I could probably splurge for 1-2 of these, several I have wanted, or now want to, try. But could you do more of a drugstore version if you weren’t loaded with all that RU-vid wealth 😉
I switched from the green Banila Co. balm to the Then I Met You balm and honestly? I will NEVER go back.... especially with the soft shiseido foam cleanser.. lol
Everyone's skin has an affinity for certain types of oil. Few of us need trendy oils like sea buckthorn in a cleanser. A mix of aloe and your ideal oils will give you a very frugal cleansing oil, to make it a balm, just use an oil that sets at a lower temp, like Shea (prob avoid coconut unless u know it's good for your skin) or add melted beeswax...I've accidentally made cleansing balm so many times, trying to make other products, lol, it's just a version of natural lip balm. It's a very easy and safe DIY.
Hey James, have you tried the Aromatica cleansing balm? It's so soft, smells amazing and washes great in my experience. Sounds similar in texture to the then I met you but much more affordable.
I need to stop watching your videos, I literally just spent like $200 on Stylevana buying skincare and now I want more😂 you are the enabler to my skincare addiction😂
Is the make cleanser in any way like the hyram cleanser? I love the hyram cleanser but the caps keep breaking off! I guess I’m too heavy handed and require a pump 🤣
Hey James seems someone is acting like you says they won a prize which is not true and it has been going around. Using influencers account names and photos.
I LOVE the Then I Met You balm. It's a GREAT cruelty-free (truly cruelty free) alternative option to a tired and true K-Beauty balm like Clean It Zero.
absolutely perfect timing! I've had so many friends/family asking about skincare advice for face/body the past few weeks and I've been trying to look up different products for different people's skin concerns! you're a lifesaver, and one of the only people I trust with this information! xo skin is the body's largest organ, let's be kind to it and take care of ourselves 💚
I used to be a st Ives scrub girl and scrubbed my skin to within an inch of its life (oof) but as I get older and my skin stayed oily and acne prone it finally clicked that I was going about it all wrong 🙃 I always love your recommendation videos!
Your skin has such a gorgeous glow!! I love seeing that your favorites are not just the usual celeb over priced products. Your routine feels real and honest. Thank you!!
I also love the cosrx essence. But I'm a ride or die tretinon user. But I'm almost 50 so age difference is huge and I didn't start skincare til after 40 so I have catching up to do!!!
You probably won't see this, but I have to say, THANK YOU! 🤗 I finally gave in and purchased the watermelon glow PHA toner because you use it so much and it absolutely changed my life. I am crazy acne prone, oily, sensitive skin, and I had recently gone through horrific breakouts from using a prescription acne cream. Healing that damage was going slow until I bought the glow recipe toner and it sped up like crazy! I also use the CosRx BHA and AHA toners too that helped me heal, but that glow recipe changed my life. Thank you so much for giving me such amazing suggestions, I finally feel confident enough to go places without a mask again ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for all of your videos, I'm 24 years old and nobody taught me how to care for my skin, much less how to make it a fun experience instead of a chore. I'm so excited to be taking small steps towards finding products that work for me and maybe even add in some actives eventually to meet skin goals, which I have now after learning what skincare can even do! I received a sample size of a Pistache brand eye cream and loved it, but when I went to the website I saw lots of misleading language (in my opinion) and now I feel like although the eye cream was nice, I don't really trust the brand especially at that price point for such small amounts of product. Would you ever consider doing a video or a series on breaking down advertising terminology from product listings/websites to demystify the buying process? I know you've talked a lot about how eye creams only produce temporary effects and any 'anti-aging' effect actually comes from filler and botox, but I feel like theres so many different ways a product listing can be misleading if you don't know what to look for! Thanks for reading hun ❤❤❤
Hi everyone, I snubbed my nose at the GLOW Recipe products for so long. Boy was I silly. I LOVE this line. If you want full size of each product it can be very pricey BUT I found on SEPHORA they have a mini's kit for around $47 Canadian, you get the Toner, Plum Plump, Glow drops, Avo eye cream and the moisturizer. I will be buying multiples of these kits. MY skin LOVES this line.
I started with the mini sized ones too because, after using several products from other brands that didn't work for me, they didn't feel like they would be a huge commitment. I currently use the Blueberry Bounce cleanser and either the Plum Plump or Pink Juice moisturizer depending on my hydration needs at the time.
My holy grails are Sukin hydrating mist , the oridnary retinol 0.5 in sqalane, Esmi eye delight reflection balm, raw kanvas the limelight perbiotic lotion, kora organics aha serum, qv cream and go to face hero facial oil, cleansers I tend to use anything oil based and creamy and a hularonic acid serum but I don’t have a holy grail one just use any
I can't thank you enough James, the difference to my skin from watching your videos is unreal. Would literally trust you with my life lol 😂 . Dying to try alot of these things but Yestlyle isn't shipping to Northern Ireland 😞 . Hope Robert is keeping well x Love your videos x
The only product I know I can use forever is the I’m From Mugwort Cream. I will pack it in my carryon when I fly because if I lose everything else at least I still have my moisturizer lol
Have you considered making a video about low waste skincare products? The Experiment mask and Dieux eye masks made me think of it....but I feel there are starting to be more options out there (like the Glow Recipe Plum Plump cream) and I feel like it would line up with your ethos.
i love when creators show products that they use and the bottle/container isn’t full so you can be 100% sure they actually use it - that glow recipe toner has clearly been used to death and that’s a big green flag for recommendations! definitely going to look into it 🥰
I love the glow recipe toner! My bottle is down to like a centimeter 😂 I have a second bottle for when the one I’m using now runs out, as well as a couple travel size - definitely my “holy grail”/“deserted island” product
Honestly I don't get the glow recipe hype. It's okay. The niacinamide dew drops are just okay. It's a little sticky and I can get the glow from other products. The avocado eye mask is so heavy it causes milia and that takes months to go away. Avocado oil is not something to use around your eyes unless it's super dry imo. Ipsy is carrying the deluxe size of the BHA PHA toner so I'm excited to try it out.
I bought the Glow recipe watermelon toner because of you and I absolutely LOVE it. It's only been a week, which isn't nearly long enough to see the full effect, but it is the only new product I have added to my routine in months and I can see the texture on my forehead smoothing out. My skin also really likes tea tree oil!! My first step in my routine is alcohol-free witch hazel that I added some TTO to (about 10 drops for a... idk it's a big bottle) and I find my skin is way less reactive after using it. I find I don't need another anti-redness specific product.
Can somebody recommend me one of his videos for real zero-beginners? I don't know anything about skin care and I've been watching him for a while but I just don't know where to start. Please feel free to comment if you are in the same situation.
would love to hear ur opinions on numbuzin!!! especially the no.3 super glowing toner and the no.3 softening serum since they’ve been said to use similar ingredients to the SKIII essence (and are Much cheaper :P)
Thumbs up for James for introducing us to GlowRecepie, my absolute favourite products ever, making skincare effective and enjoyable at the same time!!! Worth every penny of yours💗💗💗💗 also, sad that make beauty is not available in many contries tho, I would’ve been so happy to be able to try them but they’re not available in my contry (Romania). Loved this video 🫶🏼
I would really love a video that talks about K-beauty brands that are really really underrated. When I first got into Kbeauty, I used brands like Its Skin and Farm Stay and Esfolio, and I have never heard about them from a skincare influencer, I would love to hear you opinion on brands (that you dont usually mention)
Eeew omg the New cosrx sunscreen is sooo bad! Am I the only one that thinks this? It’s literally like ALL AMERICAN SUNSCREENS that I used to hate wearing so stopped wearing them entirely til I found Korean ones. Then a Korean brand uses all western filters and gets FDA approved so they can be exclusive to the US whyyyyy just the fda approved ruins it 😢I wish I had never tried it. Burns the eyes as all American ones do and pills and stinks
For moisturizer I switch them out depending on the season. Idk if aynone else does that? I have overall dry skin but especially in fall/winter it becomes extremely dry so I always have to switch to a heavy day and night moisturizer (at night paired with an overnight mask) because otherwise my face would be sooo dry. I also love the glow recipe moisturizers BUT I can only use them in spring and summer, they're just not hydrating enough for me in winter eventho I love them. (currently using the plump plum one which is a great comming out of winter / spring cream for me!)
Saturday Skin legit works! I have dry, tired skin and after my wife showed me how to use her stuff, I look better than my age. I like that the scents aren't too much and it doesn't feel like so much product sitting on my face.
I do like your videos, but your favourites are making you redder by each application, when you added the dew drops you were so red😳🥵 😊 it felt uncomfortable to watch. Must say puts me off using any of them on my reactive skin
I’m such shit at remembering to do skincare every day. I’m 44 so probably not the best choice. I don’t think I have a lot of issues though. Not a lot of wrinkles, rarely get acne, I’ve lucked out so far I guess. I do have some hyperpigmentation that I probably should do a better job at trying to diminish. My budget in no way can handle all the steps you use so when I do get around to it, it’s just cleanser or an exfoliating one twice a week, niacinamide serum and a moisturizer with SPF in the am and a thicker one at night. I have eye cream but I tend to skip it. I’m bad, I know.
I love the Glow Recipe Pink Juice, and it's definitely my go-to for a daytime moisturizer. I tried a similar product that's cheaper from YesTo that didn't play nice with my sensitive skin (darn tomato extract 😒); fortunately, my sister doesn't have the same sensitivity I do and it works beautifully for her.
I know you're probably going to hate these products, but I wish you would review the new Oil of Olay retinol products. I've used OoO for years and years and I'm 58 and think I've aged pretty well. Unfortunately, I've neglected it completely for the last 5 years and am just now getting back into my am/pm routine and I can see the results of that neglect 😔 I love you and Robert both 💞 and would just love if you would review OoO 😊🤗🥰
Ok so that was awesome and I’m asking for some of those for my birthday , esp the tinted sunscreen but hear me out : my affordable version would be… hada labo cleansing oil, literally any low ph cleanser like aveeno gentle or cera ve , any dimethicone based moisturizer , like the Walgreens off brand cera ve or the target off brand aveeno body moisturizer or I kid you not, Vaseline intensive care body moisturizer , my prescription tretinoin ( basically one of the two things in this routine that actually matter ) and any generic 5 dollar jojoba oil as a topper after all of that has sunk in . For the morning, literally nothing but Japanese sunscreen for the photostable chemical uva coverage and the ethereal glow and either neutrogena tinted lip spf because it doesn’t taste like crap, or the coola tinted lip spf if I feel fancy
Can U do a vid abt why olaplex works? And what ingredients should someone look for in similar products? I know it’s not skincare exactly… but it’s related, kind of- and I think you’d explain it super well! This is a secret that needs to be told!!
I almost grabbed the watermelon toner because you rave about it but I realized I still react to bha so stupid of me to think it was for me lmao. I have huge pores and lots of texture so I want it to work for me lol.
Urgh, I'm so glad you did this...I've been needing to up my skincare asap and just haven't been able to decide..I have the same skin concerns as you so I'm always watching your videos - Annoyingly you always give to much choice, so to see this it was perfecto! Not going to be buying them all...but I'll buy the main steps that I take 😃 thank you as always ✨️
Glow Recipe Pore Tight Toner has TRANSFORMED MY DEHYDRATED AND SENSITIVE SKIN!! First time I am actually enjoying exfoliating as it doesn't hurt my skin. Thank you for inspiring me to buy it. (btw you forgot to add it to the description box)
