I like how Cooper was able to talk to Lucas as an uncle figure even though he wasn't Lucas's uncle just as Karen was able to talk to Nathan as a mother figure even though she wasn't his mother.
I think that the writers messed up with Cooper's character. I understand why he left after the drama with Rachel but being Deb's brother and Nathan's uncle, he should've come back to town when Deb tried to kill herself and Haley was hit by the car. He was a good a character with a lot of potential that the writers wasted and it still annoys me even though the show ended years ago.
Cooper tells this bit of advice to Lucas. My reaction: Thanks Uncle Coop. He may not have been Lucas’ uncle but Cooper was Lucas’ brother’s uncle which in my eyes is enough for me to claim a person as family. If you are important to someone I care about then by god your important to me too. With that said, Cooper was so right to say what he said.
