Thank you for the video, it's a really nice looking and simple light setup. I have been stuck shooting in apartments with white walls for a while. This video will come in handy.

Some scene ideas to shoot at home. -normal TV watching scene, or light it to support the action of watching a horror film or romance film etc. -back yard or balcony talking scene (could mask your talent in twice in the wide shot, talking to a clone of himself) -lighting for food shots? -lighting talent as silhouette in a dark room or dark hallway, horror style
@jamesandcamera
@jamesandcamera 4 года назад
-Talking on the phone in a high key infomercial style -Playing an instrument in a colourful stage light style, only to find out at the payoff that he's just in his living room once the house lights turn on -beauty lighting, get him to do a faux makeup ad

Excellent! Just goes to show you can get great results without a forest of c-stands, flags, diffusion, etc. The lack of kit also means you avoided that very "overlit" look there seems to be so much of these days. If I see one more show or film with an anamorphic-shot, haze-filled, daylight- shaft-filled interior with all the lights switched on (at midday?) but apparently using only a 1-watt bulb each, I may well scream.

This video is a good idea executed well. What about a shot-reverse-shot? For example, the subject gets up from a chair, walks down a hallway and into a room. The first shot pans as the subject walks down the hallway. The second shot is from inside the room when the subject enters. The lighting seems tricky.

For me its look way to orange everything. Maybe that was intend to but its look very weird. One small exception is the Orange Street Light from the Light tubes who get use from time to time on Eastern European Citys.

Nice set up and another great video. How about some more tiny spaces to light and shoot in? I record, mostly screencast but some live action, in a tiny 6x6 whisperroom booth and it's quite a challenge to light. Curious how you would light and shoot a scene in such a tiny space with all lights, camera and talent in the booth.

great stuff! Can i ask what the monitor mount is and also the matte box. Cheers
@flickcine
@flickcine 4 года назад
Matte box is the Tilta mini clamp on matte box. I have a video on my channel that's a little review of it. The monitor mount is a swivel mount I bought from SmallRig. It connects to a short NATO rail but you can get different versions of it to connect to other things.

I’m shocked that no cinema purist have complained about her using a BMPCC 6k. I’ve got the same camera and all the Armchair DoPs that I’ve met love crapping on the brand.

Great video! I would love if you could make one like this with just natural light (mostly because I don't really have yet a set of good lights). Also, would you mind telling me your opinion on vintage glass? Do you have any vintage lens that you recommend? I hope you are well. :)
@flickcine
@flickcine 4 года назад
Oh yeah! Could do a video or two on natural light. I'll pop it on the list. I love vintage glass when shooting with sharp cameras. They soften images nicely. I have an adapter for my Fuji for my Canon FD lenses. Only have a 50mm and a 100mm Working on getting some sort of adapter to fit to the FD lenses to change them to EF mount. FD lenses are easily found and fairly cheap. It's a good start!
@albertop.9695
@albertop.9695 4 года назад
@@flickcine Thank you so much for your response! I was interested in the Canon FD lenses, but I read that it was complicated to adapt them, so I stopped looking into it. But now that you mention it (and because I also have a fuji, an xt-3), I think I would buy one. Could you please tell me which adaptor you use for your fuji? Thanks again!
@flickcine
@flickcine 4 года назад
No problem! They have a mechanism inside the lens that needs to be activated by attaching to the camera. Bit of an odd one to explain without actually showing it. I got an adapter from a company called Gobe. Its a simple adapter and does the job 👍👍
