Ive been trying for weeks now but my machine keeps ripping my threat while free motion quilting. I have no idea how to fix it, i tried adjusting the tension, different threads, different needles, and it keeps happening. I cannot go 15cms, it starts normal and then starts skipping stitches and ripping the threaf shortly after
I did have the same problem last April and it did last for like 2 months, it was also very frustrating. I almost gave up and was ready to buy a new machine but I decided to try a new needle 🪡 even if I already changed it many times. And somehow it worked and my machine is doing well after that. Skipped stitches could have many possible causes. It could be lint accumulation under the needle plate, around the bobbin area, dull needle, incompatible thread weight, and so on…I highly recommend cleaning up the bobbin area if you haven’t try it yet, change bobbin and see if there is a difference. Then change your needle many times and see which one works. I hope I’m helpful and let me know how goes. 🥰
@@jdreamquilts i was experimenting with it for two days now, i cleaned out everything, didnt help much, i changed the needle, didnt help much either. I then covered up the feed dogs because theyre quite sharp and that helped some! I also oiled EVERYTHING in the area, and that also helped! Now i still have some tears, LOT less often, but i can confirm its because my thread is apparently really shit xd so i think if i buy some good thread in the colour i need, i will be 100% good, thank you!
