We are more than a week into NHL free agency so who is still out there that could interest the New York Islanders? Today, we look at both available free agents and players who are rumored to be available via trade. Could Lou Lamoriello still make a move?

The one time I had a chance to go see the rookie camp I walked into the rink at Syosset and to the left there was Charles Wang, Ted Nolan, and Neil Smith before he left because they just made Garth Snow co-GM all talking to each other. One reason I went, was they drafted Kyle Okposo. It was great to see this kid Okposo have a surprised look when he left the ice a kid went and asked him for his autograph. After he signed it, I told him he might as well get used to that a lot more. He had this big smile and said "Yeah, I guess so." And still had a look like he couldn't believe he was asked.

Good morning team. Gil, how are things going? You actually got me. I had no idea about the rookie camp, until you mentioned it. Maybe we'll get back on that program with Roy. I guess we'll have to wait and see. When you have very few prospects and rookies, does it make sense to have the camp? I believe it does make sense to have the camp. I don't get it at all, Tony. Even if you're prospects aren't highly regarded, getting a close look at them and exposing them to the NHL coaches can only help. I hope we see changes. Thanks for the comment and LGI.

Gil we need one more top 6 winger/sniper. Even a centre who can play wing. Yes the way the cap space is & Lou is it’s highly unlikely but I’m hoping & praying he pulls a rabbit out the hat 🤞🏻

My two pick is Tyler Johnson and Daniel sprong I think you can get either guy for about 2mills bucks for a yrs until you can free up some money

You could, but the Isles don't even have $2 million in cap space right now. They'd still need to free up a million or so. Both of those guys would be useful additions. We'll see what Lou does. Thanks for the comment, kaiyoung5458.

Given their current situation as they're almost assuredly not moving Lee or Pageau, Duclair was the best move they could've made. What's left in the free agent pool at this point isn't worth the effort IMO.

I think that's the most likely outcome. The only way they do anything is via trade and I'm not sure Lou is looking to move on from "his guys." Thanks for the comment, nomad2753.

Do you think Sorokin will bounce back what is he doing in the off season. I like the signing and I am not giving up on Wally if he stays it seems like he was becoming a great player until he got hurt 2 years ago. I like to see them make a trade.

I do think Sorokin will bounce back. I am not giving up on Wahlstrom, but I don't think there's a spot for him on the Isles this season and that he will benefit from a change of scenery. Thanks for the comment, Joshuakendra7468.

With 26 gone sign vrana to a cheap deal. Louzer can't do shit now except a cheap deal. Sprong has the most goals of the unsigned ufa's-17-and could be a bottom six upgrade good for 20 g. Maybe klingberg for bottom pair d depth. And i hear next years potential top pick hastings favorite team growing up was isles. Go for hastings next draft louzer. Louzer should just put his phone away for off-season. What the fk kind of trade can he make? 26 wont get isles much-maybe a low pick. And no one wants 44, 27 with 2 years left on their albatross deals.

There is no way the Ducks would trade Zegras; especially for Pageau (+package of pick(s) and players). Not even Garth Snow fleecing Peter Chiarelli could pull that one off.

Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? How can The Islanders benefit by signing a Free Agent, and who goes? If The Islanders trade JG Pageout, or Anders Lee, it will free 👆 some 💵, it's way too much to expect. If Lou Lamoriello's smart, they'll snap Zegras 👆, before The Flyers or especially The Rangers do. What is wrong with The Islanders no rookies or Draft Prospects They need to start 👆 the rookie camps again. Lamoriello's starting to make Scrooge look generous, I hope I'm wrong. Wouldn't trade Nelson for Pacioretty at this stage of his career. Not sure the Isles could get anyone to take Lee unless they retain salary or sweeten the pot with picks or a prospects. Thanks for the comment, Mercy-bf1yq.
