I absolutely love the fact that your so positive about your body and wanting others to feel the same way. I love my stretch marks I gave birth to my daughter on 12-11-19. Please keep making videos like these. They have been helpful to me as a first time mom.
What country are you from because in the uk it says the baby was born November but i know in us the month goes first so itd be December if im right? Congrats on your new bundle of joy!
It’s great watching how lovingly you speak to yourself, more people should be like that. You’ve got such a great personality, you’re so easy to watch. Congrats on the new baby!
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this video. Here you are, just having had a baby a week ago and you took the time to walk us through lots of helpful information for other mamas going through the same thing. Thank you so much!
@@brandivictoria4665 Wow, what the actual f? Why would you have to have multiple children before being allowed the tubes tied procedure. So if a woman only wanted one child period, she would have to use a birth control method until menopause? That's just wrong 😠
Jennifer McGraw yup pretty much and if you’re married they won’t let you tie your tubes without your husband’s consent. I’m 33 weeks wanted to get mine tied but that’s obviously out the equation
Kayla - you are amazing !! Talking about vaginas, boobs, stretch marks, and postpartum bellies is a conversation women should be having. You give us a peek into the real life of being a woman. You show you care about your own body & encourage other women to be proud of their body, take care of it & being healthy physically as well as mentally is important. Thank you for showing me how grand it is to be a girl !!
Thank you so much for your realness! Love your self love- I’m going to need that. Already fearful. So this helps me that I’m not alone. 11 weeks pregnant here!
Thank you! I really love how real and applicable your advise is, none of that super-mommy stuff where you have to give birth, save the world and look like a superstar a week after birth having said that your form is amazing a week after! You're doing such a great job!
I needed this!!! I’m due in March and the thought of it all freaks me out. So the fact that it’s manageable and you’re still fine makes me feel better. Thank you!!!
Very interested in seeing a postpartum care routine. First time mom, and wanting to learn some new tips and get some advice (especially from my favorite momma RU-vidr 😍♥️)
Love your videos I’m currently 30 weeks and due in March I’m a first time mom and your videos are very helpful and love your kind words and body positivity it really helps ❤️
This was a good reminder to me of postpartum since I can’t remember the first go around hardly! Lol You seem like you’re doing amazing! Thanks for all the tips!
You look amazing and you are handling the chaos of postpartum life SO WELL. These tips are amazing and I wish I had seen this after number 1. I had such bad postpartum anxiety and depression that even taking 5 minutes for myself seemed impossible. Now with number 2 I know that I'm going to need meds right from the start (and I'm okay with that this time!) and that I CAN and SHOULD take time for myself, for the sake of my family too. Thanks for sharing!
Jasmine Torres yeah so that’s obviously a really personal decision to talk about with your doctor, but I can share more about my experience of course! I went on Zoloft, which is a really safe drug to take, even during pregnancy. I’m on a really tiny dose of it now and pregnant with #2 actually. My OB, my psychologist, and my psychiatrist all told me that baby would be fine and that it would be safe in my breastmilk with no ill effects on baby. And my daughter is a super smart, active, happy, sassy almost 2 year old now. Riley reminds me of my daughter a lot actually. And for me, the benefit of feeling normal, not anxious, and no thoughts of self harm greatly outweighed the benefits of not going on meds. So I’d say it depends on the medication, what your doctors say, and your own pros and cons. First time around I went as long as I could without going on meds, because I was nervous too. But it just came down to the fact that I needed help. And I’m so much better now mentally, which helps me be a better mother and wife. :)
N Robinson thank you for sharing your experiences, I stopped taking my medications that I wasn’t completely on a set schedule of anyways because I had just started them, they were helping tremendously when I was still taking them but after stopping about 2 months ago (I’m 29 weeks now) my thoughts have been getting worse and my depression is as bad as ever. I know taking the medicine would make me feel better but I’m still so nervous about taking all three medicines I was prescribed with as Zoloft wasn’t enough for me and didn’t work.
Jasmine Torres getting help for you is very important. Self care as a mother is a necessity for the benefit of our kiddos. If your doctors all say the meds are safe during pregnancy, then I would trust them. Your doctors have your interest and your baby’s well being at heart. There are also homeopathic options to look into, like essential oils and natural mood boosters like exercise. But mama, sometimes your body needs help producing the right balance of chemicals. I encourage you to talk with your doctors about where you are at mentally. Antenatal depression is real and these hormones have us going on crazy mood roller coasters. Don’t forget to take care of you too!
N Robinson I’m a first time mom so it’s more of the intrusive thoughts of am I gonna be a good mom and extreme anxiety of not doing/being enough for my baby it’s a lot to deal with especially with a diagnosis of major depression and PTSD since I was 12, it’s hard not to be in a permanent state of fear and anxiety I literally feel myself holding my breath/belly in, not on purpose but just from tensing my body. Thank you for the advice, I think I will just go ahead and start taking them again, my doctors have looked at the pros and cons and decided I should stay on them and my ob-gyn especially has looked at the research and told me it’s ok.
My doctor said during pregnancy you can use a belly band to help the weight of the baby pressure on your bladder and after labor it helps to put it on immediately and wear it as it helps the swelling to go down faster.
Side note: I had a c section with my son and got a pair of high waisted compression underwear on amazon that had silicone right over where your scar would be to keep from irritating it. And it was amazing for any c section moms who might be reading the comments!
You're doing amazing mamma, definitely as a first time mom myself I will make lots of changes if we get to have a second little one. I neglected myself horribly postpartum and I was so overwhelmed. Your tips are great and I am sure I will take some of those into my own postpartum routine if I get to be a mamma again. Thanks for being true to what recovery is like.
Hi from Virginia! I hope you guys love it here. I'm from Richmond, almost 24 weeks with my first and I've been enjoying watching your videos. Thanks for sharing :)
Just had baby girl yesterday, i also got a couple of stitches and I’m scared to have a vowel movement 😱😳. I know on your past video you said it went well for you so I’m hoping it’s not bad for me too.. lol Thanks for this video I don’t know how you could vlog. And do stuff. I just want to be with baby and rest.
Blessed Mommy stool softeners are your friend, the medication stays in your gi tract and does not cross into your bloodstream, so you don’t have to worry about nursing while taking them.
hello.. im 35 weeks pregnant.. and I love ur videos.. most of them helps me a lot.. I have a question, can you tell me why we need belly band.. what it is for??
Spark 118 I’m 35 weeks too! With my 3rd. Your an muscles separate to make room for your growing baby. It takes a few weeks for them to come together again and to regain some strength. The belly band helps give you some support and help with back pain since your abs are so stretched out and sore.
Regular watcher from northern Ireland! I love your videos, keep up the good work and thanks for all the super honest info!! I'm due to be induced with my first baby in 5 days :) xx
Grace Rodgers they give you the bare minimum. I think they give you a handful of pads, mesh panties (maybe 1-2). And a peri bottle. But it does not look like the one she has. It looks like an old fashion ketchup bottle. I’m 6 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and had no idea that peri bottle she had existed lol I’m going to be purchasing it this time around. Trust me you will need it.
I'm not even close to being a Mom but do the corsets help with compressing your back? I've had a few surgeries and I do a lot of physical work. Would you recommend them for anything like that?
Although you just had sweet baby boy, are y’all planning on more kids?? Btw they are absolutely beautiful, and videos like this mean so much. I’m due in September with my first 😍
I was due jan 12. I was induced jan 3rd and had my boy jan 5th so that was not fun cramping before i started to contract... i also had a episiotomy & they used the vacuum on him. Not fun at all.
So like why can't you just be my neighbor lol you are so helpful from trying to conceive through everything. My friends all have kids who are school age for the most part so all these details are great.
I’m almost 37 weeks and I have one stretch mark so far. Did you notice that you got more stretch marks while you were pregnant or after you gave birth? I’m trying to get to the point where I’m okay with my body and how it will be afterwards but I’m only 22 and theres LOTS of pressure to look a certain way at that age. We also live on a military base because my husband is active duty so there’s even more pressure to look like a “normal” 22 year old.
Ally Carlson I had twins and I didn’t notice my stretch marks until I lost weight but thankfully they are only under my belly button Android can’t even see them when I where a bikini! I did get into weight lifting during my postpartum weight loss and it DEFINITELY made a big difference in my body!
Kayla, thank you for sharing with us! I love how real you are, we love your videos! I know your little one will love to listen to Progressongs, where we create songs and videos promoting diversity and inclusion. Channel featured on Pix 11 news in New York. #progressongs
I've been loving all of your baby videos! I've found them really informative and like "real life" (as opposed to some of those other videos on RU-vid). I'm not having a baby yet, but I've been binge watching them in preparation, since my husband and I are starting fertility treatments soon in hopes of getting pregnant and having a little one of our own!
Thank you for being so honest and open about the realities of postpartum. There are so many expectations of what our bodies should look like weeks after having given birth that are so unrealistic. Thank you.
Thanks for making all us expectant moms feel somewhat more ready and at ease about post partum.. I feel like it’s the least talked about time and just knowing what to expect is so helpful.
I LOVED this. I have a 2 year old daughter and I'm expecting a boy at the end of march. There's so much I forgot about postpartum...thanks for the reminder :)
You are such a blessing! This is so great, especially for first time moms who have no clue about what to expect in the first days postpartum. I wish I could have watched this video before having my son (he’s 8 weeks now). Thank you for sharing!
i'm currently 34 weeks, first time pregnant, and i'm SO ready for baby to come. i've watched a few of your videos now, and i found this particular video really really helpful in understanding postpartum care. i know everyone's different, especially depending on how delivery goes, but it's good to see specifics of how it went for you. thank you for all of this!
They look so cute in the matching PJs. Jackson's huge yawn was so funny because it ended with one of those scowls that makes babies look like little old men. How much screen time does Riley get in a day? Is she eating better? It may be tiny, but with a tub and shower it is not a half bath. It is pertinent that you have shared with people that you can put the kids in the tub with no water to let them play. Also important is that you recommended sitz baths, which some people do not know about and they do help. It's more for the labia and things hidden by it and not internal for the vagina. So good that you mentioned multi-tasking, so that people will think to put on a mask while they are doing the sitz bath and not try to schedule them separately. You know you will feel better as time progresses. You don't need to apologize to us for your living situation, which is the best it can be presently. If you have the offer to live with family in a tolerable space for a few months and pay them room & board instead of exorbitant rent to a stranger, why would you choose anything else? You look pretty organized to my eyes.
I personally don’t feel stretch marks are genetic. I think it’s all about how you care for your body-skin in the years leading up to getting pregnant. Because my mom is the same size as I am, small & petite. But my dad said with both her pregnancies that they were together for, her stretch marks were deep, purple & blue, and looked “like a bear attacked her” (his words). I am on my 2nd pregnancy (9 months pregnant currently) and have zero stretch marks - from either pregnancy. But I’ve always lotioned up my entire body since I was about 15 (I’m 28) every few days. And I have beautiful belly-skin. But who knows, who am I? Lol I’m just giving my opinion and experience 🤷🏻♀️
I am 1 week post as well. I am so suprised at how fast ive lost weight. Ive already lost 26 lbs in 1 damn week! Talk about water weight. The cramps during feeding time were so bad. Now they are but a memory. I am just so tired all the time. And ive been having crying fits. My other children are older and they have been so misbhaved ! Ugh. Mom life. My husband just went back to work . The only real problem is my baby wont latch so ive been forced to pump. Cant keep up with doing it so often. Any tips?
With my second pregnancy I only gained 22 pounds and I was back in my regular clothes a week after he was born... I guess between not gaining much and breast feeding it came off fast... My first pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and gained 45 pounds and had so much swelling that it took forever to lose it.
I’m due any day now and have a 20 month old. Your videos have helped me imagine what it might be like with a toddler and newborn. Never heard of a sitzs bath but totally going to look into it this time around . Good luck on your move! Sounds stressful but it seems like you are handling it well. Keep it up! 👍
My belly looked like bark on a tree after my second pregnancy. Pregnant with number 3 now, 4 days past my due date and i wonder what my strech marks are going to look like soon. I'm not ashamed of them in the least, i like my stripy belly 😉
You look amazing! Especially after only a week! Gives me hope about my body and going back to my normal weight. I know we aren't suppossed to care about our weight but unfortunately we live in a society that has taught us the skinnier, the better. I think it's great you have such an amazing attitude.
Hi I’m from the UK and didn’t recognise what you made yourself for breakfast but it looked really interesting- can you tell me what you had? Is that a traditional breakfast there? Thanks! Xx
Question: do you need a postpartum band in order to get back to your previous shape? I was 110 lbs before so I am wondering whats the best way to get back to it without spending much. Thanks.
Sidney Boo they don’t help you get back in shape. Eating healthy is what does it 👍. Belly bands mostly just give your ab muscles support after they were stretched out during pregnancy.
You definitely don’t need it. I didn’t know about belly bands when I had my first child. I got back to size 0 without it. After my second child I used post parting bands and it made no difference in how long it took to “bounce back.” They offer a nice feeling of support but don’t shape or change your body.
I’ve had 3 kids and 2 of my 3 would scream bloody murder every time I put them in the bouncer... now I completely get you that women that say they can’t bath something must be wrong because I took the babies 10 minute nap or wait till dad got home to hold baby so I could at least shower...
How do you look so amazing first thing in the morning with two little ones? I’ve got a 7 yr old and 2 yr old with one on the way and I look like a swamp creature for at least the first 4 hours of the day 😂 You look great 🙂💕
Hi, thanks for this video. Can I request you to review the frida mom peri bottle over the one that hospital provides? Would be a great help... Thanks again!!
