This is already a series, it doesn't need to be "greenlit" because Glitch's "pilots" are usually just what they title the first episode, this is their fourth show and theyve done it every time. The same thing happened with Murder Drones, actually. The reason it took so long Between the Pilot and Episode 2 was because Glitch was already working on wrapping up the final season of their other show Meta Runner. So the only question is how long we'll have to wait before the next one! Glitch's whole goal was to create shows by people that usually would have to go to a big streaming service etc to make a show, only for it to not be exactly what they wanted from having to change too much, or possibly get cancelled because of how those corporations work, Glitch reached out to indie animator Gooseworx to ask them if they had a show they wanted to make, and they do everything themselves at Glitch Prod, so it's definitely gonna have more episodes. 1:04 Actually Gooseworx uploaded a video of the main theme for TADC on their own channel, and it starts similar to this, but right as the title is coming in, little bubbles with "play" "options" & "quit" pop up below it, a gloved hand clicks on play, and then it zooms into the tent. kinda wish they wouldve kept that in this version it adds to that 90s computer game aesthetic

“Oh Bubble, you always know how to make me say this exact sentence!” That line indicates a kind of Meta-Awareness, it’s literally only there for when the camera cuts to him, that’s the joke. I’m curious how aware he is.

In the computer room, when Pomni goes through all the exit doors, there were a total of 5 monitors. I don't know if I'm over analyzing things, but there are also currently 5 (semi) sane characters being held captive. 4 of which were already lit up, possibly representing Gangle, Zooble, Kinger, and Jax, and the final one which lights up at the end of the episode could parallel Pomni's recent addition.

Jax being such a Jackass (a Jaxass if you will) seems like an act to me. We see another side of him shine through every now and again when he enconunters signs of abstractions, his smile dissapears and his pupils get really small, he looks kinda worried like this. My theory is that someone close to him got abstracted (or he knows something the others dont) and he has developed this bugs bunny esque carmic trickster attitude as a sort of coping mechanism to not loose himself... But thats honestly just a guess on my part.

Kinger's door wasn't crossed off. He's a white chess king, the crossed off door had a picture of a black chess king.

i think the aesthetic they are going for is more early 2000s cgi graphics than horror specifically. this reminds me of in particular using early windows softwares as well as watching childrens shows like dibbo the gift dragon, magic roundabout and others. honestly really surreal nostalgic, and i have to admit this show feels like what it would feel like if you were stuck inside those dreamlike shows

Fun fact:"Pomni" means "Remember" in russian. Since there is an official russian dub and forgetting your past life and losing yourself are big themes in this Pilot i highly doubt thats a coincidence

I've been a fan of Gooseworx for a long time, so I've been looking forward to this since it was announced however long ago. Something about the juxtaposition of psychological dark comedy with bright cheerful colors and wacky characters appeals to me. There's a theory about the C&A logo that if the C is for Caine, there's no way the A isn't Abel. What relevance this could possibly have is unknown.

Interesting note for C&A. There's some religious figures known as Caine and Abel, two brothers. Considering that our ringmaster and head of the circus is named after one half of them, I presume there's definitely an Abel somewhere.

This is the VERY FIRST episode and Pomni looks ready to cry, scream, and laugh all at the same time. Our little jester is in for a rough time at this rate. XD

Ayyy Glitch is hitting gold once again with this pilot, Pomni is adorable and i'm so glad Lizzie is once again voicing one of my favorite female characters

On the one thought I suspect either Caine or a higher program knew Koufmo had "abstracted" based on the fact the newbie (Pomni) is a jester and we seem to only have one of each of a set of children's show character types, yet the crossed out doors have multiples of each type *multiple clowns, dolls, wackadoos, animals, chess, and theatricals*, so what if when one gets abstracted (or otherwise is gone) the program selects that the next person to end up there becomes their replacement. That said getting some Digimon Adventure 2 meets Don't Hug Me I'm scared vibes, like they enter through the screen to the digital world, but also that we are on an island/isolated area designed to look like a children's show and engage the individuals there as one but is fully synthetic and the "victims" are forced to play along; but at least these are more aware of themselves than Don't Hug Me I'm Scared's cast. I am also mulling over the potential based on a sneaky trailer that this could even be a case of neural clones (where the characters think they are the person who put on the headset but the program just copied their memories and personalities *for the most part*. So many theories just from this one episode with everything going on it.

I'd just like to point out that every single time we see Pomni grab onto the handle to open an 'Exit' door, she always does so with her non-glitching hand.

When the character are walking through the area where all the rooms are you can see there are many crossed out doors and the one you saw was actually a queen piece. Also fun fact Pomni means Remember

The chess piece that was crossed off on the door wasn't the King. It was the Queen, which is quite dark when you think about the implications.

Digital circus is basically digital hell where you lose your grip to reality and stuck in this colorful world well maybe this is all i got from watching the pilot

35:35 as he said before, when naming Pomni, one of the few things he doesn't have control over are their minds, they are utterly out of his control. I'm pretty sure the glitching is damage to their physical (digital?) forms, which Caine can easily tamper with to fix, but full-on abstraction is (or, well, seems to be) the mental breakdown of an individual to such a degree that they simply can't recover. Something permanent happens. I suspect they might vanish completely, leaving a VR avatar with no pilot. It goes on a rampage before, during, after its physical attributes degrade to such a degree that it becomes a glitchy black mass covered in multicolored eyes. At this point, there isn't even a mind to the body that could be saved, if Caine were to snap is fingers and make Kaufmo back into a Kaufmo shape, it'd probably have the same violent tendencies, and no ability to understand anything around it, and I bet it'd just degrade back into an abstraction again. And so it is safer to just take the mindless shell and stuff it into a closet with all the other proverbial skeletons.

Yeah there were two different doors with chess piece characters on them, the one that was crossed out was a queen and the non-crossed out one was Kinger. The other character was probably related to him somehow but we really don't know, at least not yet

it's like modern jumanji where, players get stuck in a game (or in this instance a show) and they take the form of the readily available characters. Which should explain why Pomni has a room of her own already. If it just manifested in the day she appeared then there would be no need to cross out the other rooms that have been left out after the denizens of those rooms abtstracted and keep it there, it should've just dissapeared after they got put in the cellar.

It seems like this show might be a big hit that I hope it get green light for a series 😄 also during the hallway scene. You ask about the doors. I heard that there being 28 characters and the ones with Cross out are dead either Turned into a monster. So if the series get green light, we might see more character coming in this show and being more story building

After doing some searching I found what kinger was referencing when asking zooble about the game show. It’s a reference to an old animation one of the animators did called little runmo

C & A???? I think C&A very well could stand for Caine and Abel! It is a slightly different spelling with the ‘e’ added to the end of Cain, but I wonder if this has any sort of parallel to the biblical story of Cain and Abel. According to Wikipedia, In the biblical Book of Genesis, Cain and Abel are the first two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain, the firstborn, was a farmer, and his brother Abel was a shepherd. The brothers made sacrifices to God, but God favored Abel's sacrifice instead of Cain's. Cain then murdered Abel, whereupon God punished Cain by condemning him to a life of wandering. Cain then dwelt in the land of Nod (or also known as the land of wandering) where he built a city and fathered the line of descendants beginning with Enoch. I’m possibly seeing a dark story of two brothers attempting to create the next big technology entertainment system, only for Abel to be somehow favored by the higher ups, resulting in jealousy with Caine. Caine then causes his brothers death, whether it was purposeful or not, before ending up in the land of wandering (AKA, the digital circus), becoming something seen as AI, and building his wacky city while trying to ignore the guilt he may feel for causing his brothers demise. However, if it is to be believed that Caine is fully an AI entity, then it’s possible to make the connection in thinking that two different AI’s were created. Caine and Abel were then tasked to create something for their creator, or ‘god’, only for the creator to favor Abel’s AI over Caines. Caine was then condemned to the land of wandering (AKA, the digital circus), after possibly causing Abel’s demise/corruption out of Jealousy. It could also be possible for the AI to be based off of real brothers within this universe. I only say that bc of the C&A logo. It would kind of make more sense for a company to be named after real people rather than AI. Idk, this show could go in so many directions, and I’m just excited to see if this Cain and Abel theory holds any weight as HOPEFULLY more episodes release 😁

This pilot sure was interesting. This is giving me Popee The Performer vibes. the new jester character kinda reminds me of Tac from The Princess And The Cobbler! The ragdoll character looks like something from the "Caroline" universe but instead only lost one eye instead of 2. The rabbit character reminds me of Max from Max and Daxter but purple and taller. And that whole eye monster kinda reminds me of the glitches from "Learning With Pibby'"!

I feel like a good analogy for how abstraction works is file corruption. If you’re making a comic and the file for one if the panels corrupts, you can just redo the panel. If all of the files in the folder corrupt, you kinda have to just throw out the whole folder.

people have most definitely commented on this, but jax having keys to everyone's room and saying "you've all been fine" is just implying (in my opinion) that he's been checking on everyone to make sure they are okay. Since there have obviously been those who lost it, so it's honestly sweet that since he has keys he checks on everyone. While still pranking them as well, he does care and worry for them. It also means that he is most likely looking for a way out as well, since he mentions that he has keys to everything/everywhere it wouldn't be surprising if he's been trying to find an exit, he just hasn't mentioned such since the others would assume he's starting to loose it

The best way i can describe this is, digital circus is psychological horror and murder drones is more gore and /horror/ horror

I've watched a lot of TADC reaction videos, and I've gotta hand it to you... other than MatPat, I feel like you've contributed the most. I enjoy seeing what different people's perspectives on the show are, there were even a couple videos I've seen where voice actors showed up in the youtuber's chat or were reacting themselves

Caine mentioned early in the episode that he can’t control their minds; so if it’s just some glitches on their bodies, he can fix that no problem. But in Kaufmo’s case, his mind had completely broken so there wasn’t anything Caine could do except put him somewhere where he couldn’t hurt the others. I also suspect glitching, specifically from being attacked by an abstracted creature, is the only possible way to die in this world; otherwise the cartoon physics protect them from any physical harm, as one would expect from a children’s game.

By the way, the reason why there was two Chess pieces is because apparently king are used to have a wife and they both got trapped in here together and then the queen which was named Queenie got abstracted and that’s pretty much why Kinger is so interesting

Wow, it's been a while since I watched one of your reactions, Zamber. Sorry I haven't commented in a long time. The beginning of the pilot, I think, is actually meant to be reminiscent of those prerendered CG computer games from the 90's, which I assume is what those horror games you're talking about are also based on; corrupting otherwise innocent stuff that always felt kind of odd and almost creepy when you were a kid. There's definitely a lot of that in the Amazing Digital Circus. Incidentally, the premise of this show takes inspiration from a book called "I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream", which is essentially about a sadistic rogue hyper-intelligent computer wiping out nearly the entire human except for five people and basically spends the rest of its time tormenting and torturing them, without allowing them to leave, even by dying. The humans in the book are basically stuck in a world of nothing but suffering and misery, at the whims of a crazy AI. Caine... isn't exactly as cruel or sadistic as the computer from the book, at least not intentionally, and the various other humans in the Digital Circus have different takes on their current predicament, with characters like Ragitha trying to be optimistic and kind while characters like Jax try to get their own enjoyment out it all, even at the expense of others. The idea that there is no escape from any of this and being unable to handle it is what causes the human characters to become "abstracted", at least that's what I understand to be what's going on here, and given how many abstracted creatures are in the Cellar, it seems to have happened to a lot of people besides the current six. By the way, that crossed off chess piece person was, in fact, a black queen, while Kinger is a white king. I understand the confusion, though, it's rather difficult to make out in passing the first time. I can't say enough good things about the animation, it's so unlike anything I've seen from 3D CG! You don't really see that many TV shows or movies this unabashedly cartoony and wacky-looking, I REALLY like it! The story definitely sets up the basic premise well, as well as sets up several mysterious that might get elaborated on should this become a series. It's also a good thing that the characters are also very well-rounded and likeable, otherwise the mystery wouldn't matter all that much. The ending shot of Pomni complete with that music still haunts me, though... I highly recommend watching Gooseworx's other works on her RU-vid channel. Star with Little Runmo and go from there, it's all great stuff!

I vaguely remember a tiktok behind the scenes and showing progress of this pilot, and all i remember is the comments telling them to make Pomni's puples bigger, and how to design the bubble assistant that gets popped offten

FYI it's not "obstructed." It's "Abstracted" as in they've become utterly abstract to the world around them and given up on living.

I have watched this a couple times and watched many people react to it at this point... surprised no one ever mentions the fact no one can swear but Zooble can say "Shut Up" and "Fuck Off" though her middle finger to the others is censored. and not her mouth which is how I can tell as well the "game" didn't censor "fuck" though it had censored the finger. just interesting

Imagine there’s an episode 2🗿 Episode 2 *Episode 2 begins right from where we left off. The whole time everyone is eating, Pomni stares off into space, trying to make sense of this reality, or rather, virtual reality. Jax nudges Pomni* Jax: Yo Pomni *Pomni gets a little caught off guard* Pomni: Huh? Jax: Are you gonna eat your food or can I have it? *Pomni sighs* Pomni: Sure, I’m not in the mood for food anyway *Pomni gets up from the table* Pomni: I’m just gonna head to bed… *As Pomni leaves, Jax opens his mouth really wide and finishes off everything on Pomni’s plate in one gulp. When Jax thinks she’s out of earshot, he finally speaks* Jax: So how much longer before she realizes she’s doomed to stay in this game for all eternity? Ragatha: Jax! *Ragatha throws a piece of virtual food at Jax* Jax: Well I’m right, aren’t I? *Jax turns his head towards Caine, and Caine darts his eyes nervously* Caine: Oh well uhh- would you look at the time? I have some- important matters to attend to. Good night everyone! Or- good morning, umm- bye! *Caine leaves* Jax: Well that was weird *Ragatha facepalms. We cut to Pomni walking up to her door. Her hand reaches towards the doorknob, but she pauses. By her face, we can see she is uneasy and nervous to walk into her room. After a moment, she shakes her head, takes a breath, and finally opens the door. We can see it’s a black void at first, with one white pixel in the center. But after a few seconds, pixel by pixel, it starts transforming into an actual room. Or at least, as actual as a room can get in a virtual reality. There are yellow walls, a bright blue bed with dark blue sheets, a fuzzy round yellow carpet placed underneath the bed, and two red nightstands on either side with a framed picture on one of them. All the colors clash, and we can see Pomni grimace a bit as she walks inside and lays down on the bed and goes to sleep. We then see her dream. A young adult is seen crying on the curb on a rainy night. She then sees a young man extend his hand* Man: You seem…overwhelmed. I can take you somewhere where you can get away from everything. What do you say? *The word “say” echoes as we see Pomni turn in her bed. We then cut to another part of her dream where the young man is handing her a headset* Young man: You remember the terms, right? *The young woman nods. Around her we see other people wearing VR headsets. Above each of them is a screen that shows a certain number of days. “Day 12” “Day 17” “Day 4”. A headset lowers above the woman’s head. The man looks at someone next to him on a computer* Man: Everything ready, Caine? *Caine answers solemnly* Caine: All set Aldrin… *Aldrin nods at the young woman, and she puts on the headset. As soon as she does, we can hear a few seconds of pained screaming and groaning. The girl tries to take off the headset but her whole body is paralyzed. She can barely move. Caine looks away; eyes full of guilt, and Aldrin smirks* Aldrin: Let the games begin… *Pomni suddenly shouts and bolts out of bed. Her eyes are wide open and her breath staggers. She looks at her hands; they’re shaking* Pomni: Caine and Aldrin. Caine and Aldrin. Caine and Aldrin *She repeats this multiple times before finally calming down a little. She takes a deep breath and lies back down. She stares at the ceiling and fidgets with her fingers* Pomni: He knows something… *Pomni balls her hands into fists* Pomni: He knows something…

Whats it with Glitch and immediatly destroying their main characters psyche, this can not be a coincidence at this point...

The exit scene just remind me so much to the backrooms or liminal space, and the story fits in a way of, the characters got trapped into this space, probably because the headset that Pomni (which ironically means remember in russian) talked about, if a headset like a game is connected to a PC, and being shown this old PC in the liminal space with the whole aesthethic of the series, it gaves me early 2000 games that the old computers use to have like Purble Place, so they are more likely trapped inside and old PC computer type of game, going outside of it, in the code of the PC (the void) there is nothing out there, out of the game. If the C&A company design the game or the liminal space where the PC originally is, then everything explains pretty much itself, i love this kind of ambiguous dreadful horror that makes no sense because its out of logical reasoning, which gives the spooky vibes

In the part where you say there was two chest pieces one of the pieces was the queen aka the one that was crossed out which means she was abstracted already the other one was the king aka kinger as you see him already hopefully this will clear up your confusion

I have the theory that the perfomers represent different personality disorders. Anxiety(pomni), fear(kingler), selfishness(jax), anger(kaufmo), etc. What if the headset was a technology that was supposed to help cure ppl of their debilitating personality disorders. Strap it on and instantly feel relief from your crippling issue. BUT what if the tech takes those negative aspects of your mind away and dumps them into the circus? That's why they have no memory. Also it would lend itself to making the existential horror even worse because even with a route back to the real world, they've nowhere to go. 😱🙂 Interesting things I've spotted. * Before the introduction song Caine mentioned "paraphernalia" that "we" would be seeing. That implies objects/items/things and yet what we end up watching is the trapped performers... * When Caines watch detected a player in the Void, he said "oh no, they'll be *spoiled*". That's a word used for perishable goods/food/products..... * When Jax said "she still thinks it's a dream", he was not talking to Ragatha. He was breaking the forth wall and talking to us.... * The adventures aren't dangerous, but Kaufmo's abstracted form was as Zoobuls fate barely bothered them but Kaufmo's was seen as a real danger. Re- Jax's reaction to the adventure compared to Kaufmo. *Caine isnt all-seeing because he had no idea what was going on to his circus or players, even abstraction, until Pomni entered the void. Then he still didnt know himself, his wacky watch alarm had to alert him. *Caine barely knows anything about the real world.... " *Drown* in the digital Lake,..... *ridery* at the digital fair" hint at that. If that's so how did he know what offices in the real world looks like? Maybe through the cameras in the place where the headset and computer are sitting? That also explains why the exit maze has "A" computer office room but is not "THE" computer office room. I dont think they are the same because Caine's had no windows or natural light but the one we come out of at the end has natural light streaming across the wall. * Other than the final corridor connected to the void the Exit Maze was totally stable, until Pomni's extreme reaction to the computer and headset started causing the lights to flicker on and off.... why then? 🤔 I also have a theory about Bubble. Bubble is one of the few things Caine can't control because whoever created Caine created Bubble as well. Why would I say that? Because if Bubble was just another of his creations, then Caine would have more control over him. Instead, Bubble constantly interrupts him, does stuff that pisses him off( I.E- eating the cake), and grosses him out (I.E- licking up the vomit).
