Such a beautiful song with a huge difference. It reminds me of who am I because everyone has different stories to represent their cultural identities to embrace their inspiration throughout across around the world.
I'm a Christian but I find this song empowering .....I mean what if everyone did forget our differences and joined together ........the world would be so much better
I'm also a Christian, and I gotta say... that's not exactly an un-Christian vision. All people are God's children. Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount that we should treat others the way we would want them to treat us, and nowhere did He say that those who believe differently were exceptions. Then, in the Intercessory Prayer, He asked "that they may be one, as we are one." In other words, the message of this song is a very Christian message indeed.
I am also Christian, too, and I agree that if we were all friends with one another and the animals of God and treated everyone and everything equally with fairness and kindness the whole world would be a better place for us all and the animals and plants included.
Actually, 'old eyes' in this song is referred to the young boy has gone though a lot and has gained experience. The kind you get as you grow up and get older. He's young, but he's mature.
I love this song so much. Interpretations can range from all the world's religions and cultures, to biological differences (autism and other things), to appearance differences (Emos, Goths, Punks, etc), to the smallest argument. ~
@patrishidye "He doesn't? then i have no one to turn to anymore..Where'd my uncle go? my grandpas go? My great Grandma? I'm 11 and i don't have anyone." That could be a reaction of someone. It's okay if you don't believe in him, But i do. and i'm in a depression, everyone i love is gone and things are taking a down pour for me. I have comfort knowing that the lord is leading me through, watching and knowing what happens the next day. That he plans my life for me. THat i don't need to worry.
whatever it's gold or old, i think it both fits in the song, gold eyes like the child is very important and beautiful and deserves help, old like the child is exhausted and sad and scared. so, whatever they sing, you can believe both, don't you think? gold and old, i like them both in the song. very very very nice song, i really love their voices! it's very soothing..
I don't care if anyone is a Jew or an atheist. I am a Catholic christian and truly, I don't really care what religion you guys are, but I appreciate if you guys didn't bash each other online about their belief and God.
ya know its sad that this stuff is real...i watched a movie not so long ago its called "Cyberbully" it made me cry and im usually good at hiding my tears....i highly reccomend it
It's "old eyes" *as in a child that has seen things the should have been spared from seeing and seeing those things has caused him to grow up in those areas and he's been removed from the covering if childhood naivety, regarding those things... and it's evident in his eyes.
I honestly don't get how people can come up with all these comments that are all controversial and such. What happened to saying "Wow, that's a cool song," or "I don't like this video, sorry"?
thank you for putting him in his place.... btw im sorry if i offended you i didnt mean to be rude to the other atheists i was just trying to tell him he doesnt need to be so rude about his beliefs... and thank you for showing respect to other faiths and christians...
@hilletehnoob you call THIS song "political"? ....are you high on reefer? "I hate it when musicians mix their work with their political ideas." It's music. People are free to put whatever they want in their music. That's what a huge part of music is-- freedom. And you can feel "hate" towards it all you want. But the song is about love. You can call it "politics" all you want. But feeling hate upon hearing this song is about as ironic-- not to mention cold-- as you can get.
I do not believe in God,but anyone who does don't shove it down my throut,I already deal woth it at home I don't need it from you.anyway I may not believe in god but I am not atheist I belive in a godess
@patrishidye Going around telling people that God doesn't exist is just pathetic. I'm an atheist, but I don't go around bashing people's beliefs. And adding "no offense" to the end of something doesn't make it less offensive.
oh so your an atheist.... well its a good thing youll be protected by faith and hope.... oh yah thats right, you dont have that do you? See thats the good thing about having faith and hope... when were going through hard times we have our faith and trust to help us... so were covered... and the atheists ehh..well...good luck... (no offense)
actually sorry-- I meant trying to convince people that believe there IS a god that there is NO god isn't cool. If you are pushy, anyway. Not necessarily just "saying" there isn't a god. Nothing wrong with that.
Exist... It's exist. Besides, who knows whether there's a god or not? Who are you to say what's real and what isn't? People should choose for themselves what to believe in. This is why there can't be peace in the world, because people like you try and force their beliefs onto others. Why can't we just all get along?
It´s ok for christians telling people there is a god but it´s not ok for atheists telling there isn´t? I'm an atheists and I tell people there is no god, they can do with it what they want. If you're not offended when christians tell you there is a god and you should believe than you're not an atheist.
