Thanks for watching - and that's just a RU-vid video ;-) The whole thing is just amazing: elevator up, pre-show and then the REAL thing. Definitely worth visiting at least once.
Thanks for that video, I made that trip last summer and it was such an amazing ride I've never been on any elevator anything quite like that. The ultra high definition floor-to-ceiling video screens allowed for some amazing cinematography. I was describing it to someone online and the trip up was easy enough to describe but the trip down, and I told this person I don't know if I can even describe what this thing did on the way down. I remember walking around on the roof of the south tower in 1975 when it was still new. That was an "I'm the king of the world!" moment.
Just visited yesterday after participating in the Tunnel to Towers 5k. It was very emotional for me. The elevator ride up was amazing, the initial view when the panels came up on the See Forever finale...choked me. I was in tears for almost the whole time I was there. And then the memorial pools in the towers footprints....and the façade of the museum - I only just realized that it was built to indicate one of the towers lying on its side. SO very emotional. Thank you for your video.
That was breathtaking thank you for sharing the experience and may god bless all of the victims and the 356 first responders that lost their life on that horrific day
I was there May 2016. Beautiful video. I've had the opportunity to be on the World Trade Center, Top of the Rock and Freedom Tower. Freedom Tower was so breath taking. Every one should have this experience.
This is awesome. Worth a trip to New York purely to see it all for myself. The tower was barely half built when I was there last - a massive and very emotional building site. It's wonderful to see it all completed. Thank you so much for posting this Pit xx
I went there before and I LOVED IT! The view up on the One World Trade Center was amazing! I saw everything of Brooklyn! I can't wait until next time I go there! 😊
July 2000 I was on top of the Twin Towers with my Dad on a holiday, It was amazing then! I never knew what real height was until you're stood that high up! This is amazing! I would love to be able to do this someday!
Thanks for watching. The old Twin Tower's platform was exterior and you really felt a difference in temperature between the street level and "up there". One World's Observation deck is only Inside unfortunately. But the elevator ride and city views are definitely worth a visit ;-)
No matter when you go the CGI is amazing. The company who did the CGI should put it in more elevators and riding the elevator would be a learning experience everywhere. Hopefully you go on a clear day because the view is great.
Awesome Pit. Wowed by just watching. Superb photography. Now I have to go there. Taking the lift taken to a new dimension. Will share for sure. Be well
You're very welcome. I'm glad you like the video. I had been warned that the elevator ride was a-ma-zing so I had the time to prepare, enjoy and still record. You should almost do it twice: once to just immerse and a second time to record ;-))
We just went to the observatory yesterday for the first time and it was PHENOMENAL! This video was fantastic until 4:49 when it panned toward the door of the elevator and it missed the entering back into the tower and going down section at the end. Otherwise this was a great video! Thanx for sharing.
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you liked (most of) it ;-). You're right, the last sequence is quite impressive as is the one when on the way to the top, the Twin Towers appear and disappear. Saw those when filming and immediately regretted that I had missed them but even f I had turned the camera in one erratic move, I wouldn't have saved the situation, so I just let it go.
I was there in Manhattan in the Summer of 2000 with the high school choir from my church Trinity Baptist on a mission trip. we were supposed to go tour the original towers but ran out of time. I saw them from a distance. This is on my bucket list.
Thanks for watching, Yes, One World Observatory is definitely a place to put on any bucket list. If you say video"s", I guess you've seen some others, too,; glad you like them.
Yes it is ;-). At 0:10, when arriving at the ground level info desk, it's even indicated that "visibility is zero". The entire top of the tower was completely wrapped in clouds that slowly dispersed when I arrived at the Observatory some 10-15min later. Thanks for watching.
Wow this is just a great video so I gave it a like! I can see why it has no dislikes! I made the 45 like though there should be many more for it being such a great video. I wish your channel to grow lots more as you deserve it Pit! And it's great how you replie to every comment!
Thanks for watching - and liking. Well my channel has been growing slowly but steadily over the last two years. Hope it will keep on - and even accelerate ; - )
I wil do it for sure if I'm going back to N-Y one of these days..last time I went at WTC,it was 3 days before planes crashed in towers..I made my way back by trains to come back in Montreal
One day I'll see this in person, and goddammit, I shall not know fear. I'm so afraid of heights, but seeing this vid, I know I will not be in there. This is too much to be afraid anymore.
I dunno...it kinda has a touristy Universal Studios feel to it. Looks really neat. But makes me sad. When the elevator goes down, I imagine the people who jumped.
Thanks for watching. I don't remember the price but I suggest you take a look at their site. It's also a good idea to pre-order tickets online so you won't have to say in line once you are there.
Yes, you should. I'm afraid of heights and I went recently and wasn't bothered at all. The elevator video helps, I think. If I had been looking out a glass elevator, I think it would have bothered me going up.
I think going up it takes about 46 seconds to get from ground to 102. I have taken the ride before and its amazing if you ever get the chance to go to One New WTC
