The "little girl who can walk through walls" line is also a callback to Senator Kelly from the first film, who used the exact same girl as a symbol of fear.

"Little girl who walks through walls" is also a payoff to the first movie with the introduction and the concerns of what a mutant like that could do.

I think the little girl in question is a reference to one of the politicians speech (right before the first Xavier Magneto talk) from the begining of the first movie when a guy (maybe Trask? Can't remember) tells about a little girl who can walks into a bank vault in Illinois. Kurt laughs because it was him, Xavier wouldn't send kitty into danger at that age, but the line works in both contexs.

X2 is the best teamup xmen movie 'till this day. It's really awesome.

This is something that all DC movies and some from Marvel need to learn about ending in a good way a movie, abording a possible sequel in an coherent way.

X2 was such a formative film for 14-year-old me. I love this analysis!

One overlooked aspect of Dark Phoenix (well, the whole movie was overlooked) is how much of a jerk and an idiot Charles was for the first time in the franchise. In that timeline, Charles had a direct phone line with the President, and was pretty much his lapdog, while in this timeline, we see Charles telling the President, in a very polite way, "dont fuck with us". A shame we didnt go to see more of a flawed Charles, because in the comics he was shown in that light several times, while in the movies he was always shown as the perfect mentor, with the exception of Dark Phoenix (in DOFP, he eventually came to his senses and by the end of the movie he "saved the day"...in Dark Phoenix, he doesnt manage to save Jean, his school, his reputation, or anything, that is why he quits and leaves the school in Hank's hands).

"Little girl who can walk through walls" is a quote from the first movie during Xavier's senate testimony.

I want a similar scene in the MCU, but as an introduction to surprise people. Just imagine: “Good morning Agent Fury.”

I can only describe this as Xavier’s ultimate flex. Just appearing in the Oval Office with the full team, freezing the camera crew, making it a storm for some cool lighting, and even showing up with Nightcrawler, the guy that that just last week tried to kill the President. And nearly succeeded. I know he was under mind control, but still.

That politician dude from the first movie uses the idea of a little girl walking through walls to create fear mongering in his speech to congress. “Whos to stop her from walking into a bank vault or stealing nuclear codes” something like that

This channel, Lessen From The Screenplay, CinemaWins and Nerdsync along with other channel are all making videos analyzing a certain scene from a X-men movie. A lot of people are asking why are they doing that? The answer is simple because this year marks the 20th anniversary when the first X-men movie came out in theaters forever changing movies in the process because the success of the first X-men movie along with the success of the first Spider-Man movie established the superhero movie genre

As much as I like the cast, X2 as an adaptation of God Loves Man Kills is kinda weak... The whole religious philosophy would've worked really well with Nightcrawler's arc... But that is taken away... It would have added a different perspective to X-Men which would have been interesting... Still a great film tho!

This scene failed for me, it took me out of the film, as I don't think any US president would take that sort of threat like that.

This movie is just ok...I like this analysis, but the whole scene is just...ok. Just the bare minimum of a mid script

I dont understand. Is the 'One X-Cellent Scene' series glorifying the X-Men as an import piece of comic or video game (etc.) media. Or is it glorifying the directing of a child predator?! A bit confusing. And worrying.
