Aw man I can't wait for next year with "One DCent Scene"

To this day, the moment when Colossus says, "I can help you," & Logan responds, "HELP THEM" gives me goosebumps. I LOVE THIS SCENE. (And this movie)

I love that I just got 5 different notifications that all started with “One X-cellent scene” BTW I would love a James Bond series similar to this & the one marvelous scene series.

X2 remains my favorite X-Men movie, especially for the X-mansion scene. X2 is the only movie in the franchise that doesn't feel like its only a Wolverine, Xavier, and Magneto movie and kind of captures the soul of the comics. The entire cast has a moment to shine and stand out.

I think they wrote Williams Striker as a military scientist because the movie may not have been received that well if he was a radical pastor during early 2000's.

That feeling when there should be a "One Fantastic Scene" series but there's nothing to say.

Watching this made me realize that Marvel will NEVER be able to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

8:30: The Colossus CGI might look kind of bad, but the Deadpool movies are the only times Colossus gets (shock, gasp) ACTUAL DIALOGUE. And, no, that's not petty.

The one thing I absolutely dislike about the xmen franchise is how they handled cyclops and how it was more wolverine and friends than x men as a team

The best part about this scene is that is the pay-off to the last sentence Charles says at the end of the previous movie; "I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul that comes to my school looking for trouble"

I can't be the only one to suggest "One DCent Scene", right? Decent pun, but adjusts expectations to fit DC movies' quality.

Great analysis! Totally agree about the X-Mansion, in a lot of the other films it just kinda feels like a backdrop but in X2 it feels so alive.

When you guys eventually get to "One Amazing Spider-Scene" how many of you are gonna fight for Uncle Ben's responsibility speech in the Raimi trilogy

"We love what you've done with your hair" is a funnier line than anything from the MCU.

My favorite part of this scene is the display of powers from the students that aren't named. If you don't know much about the xmen you might not recognize Shadowcat, or Siryn but as a lifelong fan I geek out hard every time there's a scene at the school where random kids use their powers.

The assault of the school is one of my favorite scenes in the movie precisely because you get to see all these kids use their powers, and I cannot get enough of it.

The 9/11 comparison really works when you consider that the X-Men being attacked at their own home is what encouraged them to fight back.

Bless you for creating this project. For me, X2 is my favourite superhero movie of all time. Part of it is nostalgia, part of it was the theatre audience experience (really hyped theatre but not OTT and everyone reacted in the right way during moments meaning ppl laughed and cheered when they needed to lol) and partly the set pieces are so well done. And also, the OST was actually incredible!!

That Colossus scene makes me giddy every time I see it. I totally geeked-out when I first saw X2 in the theater.

This scene is easily the pinnacle of the entire X-series, for me as well. And it is definitely the best glimpse of Colossus that we've ever had. I was really hyped for X3 after that scene, but, well... you know.

So X-Men is basically Harry Potter if Snape was the protagonist.

This scene holds a special place in my heart, I'm serious. Maybe for slightly different reasons that you listed here, but I love it. I know the X-mansion is rebuild in the comics every few years, but in the film it really sold the idea of safe place not being so safe anymore. That there is always a danger that foes want to get destroy a place you feel comfortable. That place, that idea of safety felt so important with mutants, with X-Men - characters portray as hated ouside the mansion. From this perspective attack scene always felt... real to me. For some reason. Thank you for this x-cellent collab! I can be happy now and watch all of it!

The first X-Men movie just barely beats this one out as my favorite. I talked about it so much my normally frugal parents willingly bought me the DVD for my birthday. Those movies have a lot of heart.

X2 was the first superhero movie I ever watched and I was obsessed with it - and the idea of the X-mansion - as a little kid. The attack on the X-mansion was easily my favorite moment from the whole film, and a lot of that was because it gave us that little glimpse at all these background characters and the world inside the X-mansion. Thanks for that nostalgia punch, dude, now I gotta go watch this movie again.

I remember watching this scene like a month ago and just wishing I could go there. I never wanted to be a mutant so badly than during and after this scene.

The attack at Xavier School is a great scene, HOWEVER, I feel the scene had much more potential that wasn't used. Firstly, I think it was a mistake showcase only Wolverine and Colossus fighting against Stryker's men. The scene could had other mutants (in particular Iceman and Rogue) joinning in the fight while trying to help the other students escape, showcasing that despite their inexperience, they are not fool, and are able to be resourceful with their powers defend themselves (making justifiable why they would become x-men in the third movie). Also, while I agree that the Xavier School been invade is a powerfull and tense moment, I think it could work better if, the previous movie had focus more on the school and the students, showcasing more about the place and the students, beside the main x-men, their personalities and how they view the school, how this place is basically a sanctuary for the young mutants, making Stryker's attack at the mansion be more impactfull, since he is attacking a place that was important for these character the public got to know. If the x-men end up adapting in MCU movie, I really hope the Xavier school end up getting a much stronger focus, given the movie a style similar to movies/series such as Harry Potter or My hero academy, showcasing the x-men as students who not only become friends and team but also accept the school as their home. Then, in the case the MCU decides to have their own " villains attack the mansion" (probably in the third or fourth movie), it could lead to much strong moment, with the x-men fighting to protect their new home.

This is why I love X-Men Evolution (yes they get educated at real high school and I don’t care) compared to the other animated series the institute feels real and has the perfect number of students who are shown on the grounds using their powers

My favorite scene is Magneto's escape from the Plastic Prison. It's just so effortless. He raises his hand, monologues a little, then crosses his arms, and flies out of there. That's Magneto, and how Sir Ian played it perfectly. I like Fassbender's impetuous youth with the jazz hands, but even the setup, with Mystique seducing Mr. Laurio to shoot him up was great. "Never trust a beautiful woman, Mr. Laurio. Especially one that's interested in you." It was just perfect, all the way around.

I've always liked the x2 mansion photography, it looks classy and truly depicts the heartwarming apart place where these mutant kids can be who they are. I don't know why, but the newer X-Men movies where you can see bits of the mansion, they look cheap, like some sort of generic studio, or CGI-ed which is worse...

I don't like most movin pictures but these first two I liked. All the subsequent I likedn't except that pisces girl that fell through the floor. Also I like your presentations. Jennifer Lawrence in a movin picture - no; in a live audience talkin show - yes; with her horse - yes. And I really apprecomate the playin list thank you.

This and the One Marvelous Scene are both great. I look forward to One Stellar Scene (Star Wars) and One Magical Scene (Harry Potter). Wink wink, nudge nudge...

I love the way you say this is one of the most excellent scenes ever yet you criticize it just as bad as everyone else does. “You don’t pay attention to how silly it is because you’re caught up in the action.” “ no it’s not the best superhero movie, probably not even the best of the series.” The only thing I will agree with is that colossus looked the best for those 10 seconds than any other time. That’s one of the main reasons I hate the X-Men movies. Because they don’t give Colossus the credit he deserves. They also never introduced Gambit, they also destroyed Rogue’s character altogether.

X2 was the best of the X-Men series. And it should have focused on one character per movie instead of Wolverine throughout the entire series. They shou ld have followed Magneto's line in referencing Logan when he said, "it's not always about you"

My favorite thing about this scene, that I wish you had talked about: The narrator of the nature documentary on the TV mirrors the events happening in the movie as the school is invaded and Wolverine picks up on their presence.

I have to agree whole heartedly. When I saw X2 with my aunt, I involuntarily stood up and said something like “it’s colossus!” Right as he was transforming. She had to pull me down. It was just the best.

The first two X-men movies were trail blazing, and laid the ground work for what the MCU was able to pull off.
