They need A10 Warthogs as well as Gripens. A10's are specifically designed to protect ground forces, destroy armor, and eliminate ground targets. A10's are Flying tanks and both are designed to be low level flying and utilize low quality airfields
A10’s are not meant for air to air combat with Russian fighters, that being said Ukraine has no aerial superiority at this point. Any unprotected gun ship would likely be shot down at this point

Anyone who looks at this and feels anything other than sorrow for a pointless war and the loss of so many innocent lives; especially if they try to deflect to complain about their current isolated political grievance, is a bad person. It is far past time to gain some perspective.

You'd have to be a pretty awful person to think that shelling innocent people is justified. I never heard from a Russian source that it would be easy. Remember that Ukraine was bombing the Donbas for eight years prior to the invasion. So it's not easy. However, US imperial power rests on the outcome of this military conflict, hence the vast amount of support and dragging others into it she has given, all while neglecting her own problems. In reality Zelenskyy is in a quite desperate position. Zelenskyy strategy is reduced to rounding up civilians often at gunpoint and throwing them into a meat grinder. It's obvious that these hapless and desperate people can even turn their guns against Zelenskyy instead of dying for him. Anyway you can't rely on them to hold the front that is in a very precarious state almost everywhere. Everybody understands that and gives Zelenskyy promises instead of weapons. Biden hopes to encourage Ukrainians by empty promises to hold the front for a couple of months and then probably think of something (the only realistic option is to send Poland to the slaughterhouse, but Poland so far is reluctant to sacrifice itself). Unconditional surrender is the only way out for Ukraine. Hitler's Germany also refused to admit defeat until Hitler killed himself. Then Keitel signed unconditional surrender.
