I always love to see people progress in skateboarding. It’s a really mental sport/hobby that most people give up real fast. I hope you can continue to improve.
Fr though man, I quit just after 2 weeks of skating, but I just got back into it Luke 1 or 2 months ago and I've learned how to ollie and I almost landed a shuv. But I'm proud of myself. I usually just ride around and having fun and riding off curbs getting good at the basic stuff yk. Today I was trying to ollie off a curb and it's definitely a mental challenge, I can ollie while moving just fine but when I get to the curb it's like I forget how to ollie.
@@kyroyuhyuh cool skate story. You don’t have to do this at all and you probably don’t want to, but if you want I can make a tutorial video for you (how every many and whatever you want) and it would help my small channel. Something I learned from skating is that it is really hard to learn tricks by your self. So maybe with some help you can progress in skating.
I got a skateboard for Christmas last year, and I’d just seen tricks like kickflips and Ollie’s at the time, so when I couldn’t do them, I dropped skateboarding for about 2 months. I picked it back up and now I am so close to landing a heelflip
@@uncaiculated8437 dude I don't know how people do it. I've been practicing and I still can't do it man. I've watched many tutorials and none of them have worked. Help.
@@useruah5719 I can't ollie very well yet, but the tutorial vid that has an explanation that worked for me is by "biitzy" he has a couple of ollie tutorials on his channel with slomo and things so that should help you at least get off the ground lol
i started skating 2 years ago, got frustrated and gave up about 4 months ago, I still skate here and there but mostly just cruising along the road but this video... man you just inspired me to go back to it again. i miss feeling the satisfaction of finally landing a trick :)
this was the most real progression in 1 year that i've seen on yt because the others already learn to tre flip in 5 months kekw, keep it up don't be discouraged!
Are you saying those dudes are fake, or just not "realistic"? Because I progressed as fast as that and I met others who have, but it's not the norm so it would be bad if people thought that's how fast they should be progressing, and they might feel discouraged because of that.
Is true that "skate progression" has become a keyword and there is lots and lots of fake clickbait progressions. I 've seen kids that at the end of the video have beard and bodyhair and title is "one year progression", and I've seen too experimented skaters that acts like noobs only to record the video. Soo... YES, youtube is full of fake progressions and this at least is REAL. Really thank you Vici. Fake progression videos damage the faith of the begginers, we need the force and motivation that thoose videos bring to us to continue, but we cannot take it because we dont know if is a fucking fake.
Its not fake its just that ppl learn faster, i only skate for 6 months and i have an above average flip, all the basics down, and is working to master my tre flips
Actually I can see your point, but with kick flips, it’s better to catch with your back foot, but you can do what you want at least you know kick flips
I understand where you are coming from, but it is way better to catch your kickflips with your back foot, in fact its almost impossible to catch them with your front foot.
really love seeing people like any other people you can see anywhere, at your school, mall whatever, doesnt have to be some famous stunt-star, just a person like you or me really showing their progress and showing its ok to mess up, because every thing is like that, practice practice practice, and as someone who is just getting into skateboarding, and being scared of being called a "poser" and all that other stuff just because im just trying and getting into it, this really helps understand that messing up, falling, taking weeks, months, even a year to get the hang of it is ok. not faking to look cool, it just natural.
Your kickflip is seriously there! You have great commitment and flick/flip. I can tell you've heard to lean forward because you are doing that, but you also have to jump forward too. Although it might mess up your current flicking, front foot closer to bolts will help re-shift your weight forward in the air.
man... you make it look so easy :[ i did my first shuv it the other day and i was so proud,,, i did it on grass BUT STILL GOOD YEAH? my parents are scared for me to do it on hard ground cause im top heavy, so still awaiting my helmet. Watching this vid was so good and so cool, keep it up gal!!!!
I loved seeing your progression! I do have a question though: how often have you gone and practiced? I try to do it every day but sometimes I’m just not motivated enough.
This edit hits different, I dont know I think its the vibes that make it feel a lot more romantic and freeing. It's really cool to watch someone fall in love with the sport. I have cruiser when I can't surf and snowboard and this is the type shit i feel when im in the flow
Trust that with consistency f you really love skate you will be as good as your heart desires the hardest part is landing the trick so if you know your feet are capable just imagine yourself landing on the board and when you see the grip tape you stomp
Just a tip: it might be easier to learn a trick while rolling than not rolling. Since tricks can be harder while rolling, its better to learn them that way so you can easily do them while being still. Also, love the progression. :)
beautiful video, this makes me document my progression as well which I'll be starting soon as I'm starting a new chapter by switching country for my uni.
Loved this whole video I've been skating since April so about 3 months on and off not everyday and I've learned ollie, ollie onto curb, nose blunt to fakie, shuv it, first pop shuv last night, underflip, and a 180 spin/ turn not flip
I just started skate 3 days ago and my ankle feel shit...maybe because i use cheap kinda skateboard...i dunno because i found it at a dumpster...but overall...i very enjoy the progress... can't wait for my first Ollie...(rate my grammar please...i dunno to speak English like a native speaker)
I recently met such a sweet girl and she asked me to go skate with her. I cant wait to see her beautiful smile when she lands her first ollies. Personally have a big problem not feeling like trash around girls bec of my low selfesteem. But this girl instantly showed me her wholesome personality and introduced me to her thoughts and fears. I felt like in a dream lying head to head on the kitchen floor. With a girl i just met. I felt like all of our thoughts went from one head to the others. I ve never felt that much of a connection towards a person i ve barely knew. Im 21 at the moment and i ve never felt like attracted towards the looks of a person and therefore only had like my life time best friend as my only real girlfriend but she broke up with me. I lived in depression for 2 years straight losing weight and hope to myself bec i way not able to think of a bright fututre. But in that moment of us lying on that kitchen floor she flicked a switch in me. Not that i just want to lose myself in her but that im allowed to love myself again. Its sounds so crazy and even rly stupid to myself that a person that i know such little could do such great thing to me without even knowing or trying. At some point i just smiled at her and had to give her like a 5 min hug. It didnt even felt weird instead i felt like luckiest dude alive again. She smiled back at me and we had 5 hours of further conversation. I think at some point she tried to hit on me but im bad a reading signs and i loved the aspect of 2 ppl feeling such a bond without ending up having sex. Ok last thing didnt happen bec i didnt realized at that moment. But all of her words spoken with that beatiful smile she has and her eyes proving me her honesty i already felt like in heaven.... Emmi if u read this i hope you feel the same and i hope you know what a beaty of personality u got. I rly dont know why i had to post this under your vid. But im happy i did it made me cry thinkin about a happy future with self acceptence and knowledge that there are such eonderful ppl out there to live for. I hope u already gained that knowledge and that u keep skating its the best way to not lose social activity and connection. Ty for real
She's really good but like damn how many shoes r u going through I saw so many different shoes I have one shoe that I'm using duck tape to still use cuz I got no money but anyways she's really good
and that's perfectly fine, you're making use of what you have and that's better for the environment. also that just shows the fact that effort matters more than the materials that u have available (materials isn't te right word but English is not my first language and I forgot the actual word fck)
@@summ4r264 they can help make your tricks easier and they can get in the way of you being able to do some tricks but if you don't really have money to buy shoes and you have to stick to one or two pairs you'll get used to skating in them so it's not gonna be much of a deal
@@morningbreeze3390 i just want to buy an skate shoes but idk what to pick like i want to buy low converses but someone said vans are better which one i should buy?
I swear i see all these beginners with new decks and shoes like every 3 months | like when I started I had and amazon then after 3 months got a ccs complete and rode that for almost a year. Like when your a beginner you hardly damage it at all.
I’m about to quit. I’m a beginner and the first video I uploaded I had 8 comments only one positive. I wouldn’t usually let that stuff get to me until they took a jab at my weight. I shouldnt let it bother me (they had an among us pfp.) but I just couldn’t help it. I was just happy I could finally do an Ollie after hours of practice. And all they had to say was that I was fat. ☹️
don’t give up, you should be really proud of your progress, skating is hard!! i’m sorry to hear you’ve had a negative reaction online, try not to listen to the bullies, i bet they can’t ollie like you do
if you really love skating you shouldn't let people discourage you, especially when you don't know if they can even ollie. maybe that's why they bullied you based on your weight, because they knew they aren't better at ollies and you know what? you can lose weight faster than they are gonna be able to become a nicer person and that behavior is only gonna attract bad luck to them. don't mind them. everyone gets what they deserve including them.
I personally don't think skating is my thing yes its fun to cruise around on but tricks aren't my thing I have been trying to do tricks for months now can't even do a ollie I can't even get my board off the ground but I enjoy skating around I am probably going to give up ok tricks but never on cruising I also just don't think I was made to do tricks. I also have low self confidence so I don't feel confidence in skating 😕
