CHECK OUT DAPPERS upcoming tour for 2024! www.laughsmerch.com/tour-date...
Menace II Sobriety Live brings the up & coming podcast to the live stage; hosted by Daniel O'Reilly and a special guest, no topic is off-limits. Combining humour with stories and issues which both Daniel and the audience will have experienced, whether first hand or through someone they know. Offering an environment for people to openly discuss their struggles was Daniel's main focus behind starting the podcast, as well as his M.A.T.E group; so now he also brings it to the stage and to the public.
What can people expect at the live podcast:
Join Daniel at Menace II Sobriety Live, as he discusses all things sobriety, ADHD, mental health and more. The podcastwill be recorded live with a special guest, including audience interaction and finishing with an open Q&A.
Daniel will not only be discussing sobriety, but everything life throws at us, and he would love for you to join him. Bring your tissues and your sense of humour, because we have no idea what topics will be discussed, but whatever the conversation, it'll be a supportive environment and may contain some dad jokes.
Story behind the podcast:
The Menace II Sobriety podcast was set up after Daniel faced his own battles with sobriety, ADHD, mental health and certain life scenarios. He set up a M.A.T.E group on Facebook, so that men could support men in an accessible, open and friendly environment. Upon seeing the responses from men around the world to some of the posts on the group, Daniel was blown away by the kindness and support of strangers. This led him to create the podcast, inviting a range of guests from different backgrounds, sharing his own personal experiences & struggles; and now, opening up to the public in a live environment, where people can come along and watch in-person, or get involved in the audience interaction.

I've listened to every podcast since the beginning and also Sober Dave's. I know your target audience is predominantly men, however, there's women also struggling to open up and handle addiction (such as myself) and wanted to say thanks and what a privilege it's been to follow you on your journey.

Hand on heart, recently you have helped me through the hardest time in my life. I can relate to you so much.. Losing my Dad to addiction and struggling with long term addictions and mental health problems that I have been battling with since I was a kid. Whenever the bastard gremlin has chirped up, I have put one of the podcasts on and now me and the Mrs listen every week. I can see how much you have put in and how much more you are getting out and thanks to you guys, I am doing the same. Hats off to you on one year. And Thank you man

John. Would be great if you guys could get me and my twin brother on the show. Both struggling to keep sober but in our separate ways. I use for physical pain relief/not care about it and my brother because his personal situation that involves how his ex his uses his kids as weapons.. Absolute respect for Daniel and what you said at the start. A message from the future was a great question. Onlookers perspective is fresh and naive in a good way to actually ask the right questions in an honest way 👍🏻

amazing achievement. when people have an answer to the first question of what would you say to yourself a year ago ? and people answer "" don't be hard on yourself, or don't feel guilty"" etc etc...but I think....all if that is crucial....like that's part of the healing journey isn't it. I love that Dan's first answer was that he would say "" it's going to be ok"" I honestly love this podcast.i did a year and half clean of H and C .... then I moved house, and I can't even explain the stress it caused me, I'm bipolar, and have moved before, but this.....this move truly crippled me in every emotion, mental state possible for some reason....back at it again.....and need to make sure I don't do it again.... congratulations Dan 🎉🎉

@aloeblack8853 2 месяца назад
@@MsSheilaC well done. I’m doing ok. I have had two occasions where I have had two drinks since December 30th. One instance I caved and had two beers with a mate where I was actually trying to make him feel comfortable which was silly on my part. The second time I had two glasses of wine at dinner after a bit of a family crisis. Not proud of breaking my streak but it’s 4 standard drinks in 4 months. I am maintaining the goal to stay sober going forward and no intention to make it regular again (my real problem was cocaine and not touched it although I think about it regularly). How are you feeling so far?
@MsSheilaC
@MsSheilaC 2 месяца назад
@@aloeblack8853 I think youre doing great and that's a great way to look at it. Youre four months sober, minus four drinks! isnt it crazy what we do to make others feel comfortable? lol I was offered wine by a wine maker at his party, who knows my background w wine but didnt know I had stopped drinking, and he was so enthisiuastic to know my opinion that I took the smallest sip possible but still looking like I was tasting... It was hysterical to me but that the only time Ive dabbled w it in two months (I went into the garden and dumped the rest so not to be tempted or mindless w a glass in my hand). it hasnt been the glorious results that most ppl seem to report two months in, but Im in it for the long haul and will be patient. At some point things will get better. I honestly think the older one is and the more time regularly drinking, is relative to the time it takes to detox the brain and organs etc. I wasnt alcoholic but had a regular habit and at 60, thats some time put in. Im going to make my 60's one of my best decades.
