I remember back in 2006, at Anime North (that's in Ontario, Canada FYI) I got to hear KOTOKO perform live...she sang a bunch of her songs many of which I could not even tell you what they were...but then she closed her concert with Shooting Star and yeah the crowd went wild when she announced it and started singing, it will be a memory I will forever treasure...and kinda wish 2006 me had some form of recording equipment back then to have recorded it...
@@Nocfairy now I had watched several anime before, but I think I can safely say it was the first anime I owned physically...admittedly my reasons for getting into Onegai teacher were...superficial, the main character was of course very attractive, then I read the synopsis of the series and went...really? THAT'S what it was about...still I managed to download it when Napster was still a thing...burned my own copy on CDs...then one day me and my friends went downtown, we went to a comic store we used to frequent, sadly it's not there anymore...but it was there I saw it, onegai Teacher part 1, 2 and 3...yeah back then they sold anime in separate disc sets, none of this complete collection was a thing yet...part 1 even came with a red cardboard holder so you could slide in part 2 and 3 in...(as you were meant to buy the whole thing separately) now I didn't have alot of money, didn't have a good paying job...but I knew if I let this opportunity slide or bought one but not all of the disks I had a feeling I was never going to see it again like this in a store...so I splurged more then I had to and bought all 3 parts in one shot...man that was not good on my wallet then but looking back I am glad I did, its still sitting on my shelf of my anime collection, a reminder of when I first started and where my collection has grown since then
@@Avalon64 Yeah, certainly. The story can be silly sometimes but I was a kiddo before, it's mostly for the unique nostalgic sensation, glad you bought it, this is priceless!
This song is what exposed I'VE SOUND to the whole world, and also made KOTOKO an international star. Despite released 17 years ago, it still sounds fresh!
This was my first real anime experience. I was at my friend's house, and his brand new internet connection. He was busy experiencing with Winamp video, and this was the result. We just keep watching a few episodes. And than: Where's the rest of it? 2 nerd in front of the screen, captivated by the cuteness of this anime, and dig up the internet, till we found a great FTP server to pirate the rest of this greatness. Next time I arrived to him with my PC strapped to my back, because he had a spare monitor I could use, and started to download the better part of the FTP server. Onegai twins, Excel saga, GITS, Bastard, EVA, and many many more.
