vhs feedback loops shot through a prism mirror, mixed with 8mm home movie footage from Israel circa 1975 and a high school astronomy film, Our Star the Sun.
I’ve listened to this track every night to help me sleep for the last 5 years. Literally every night for the last five years. This track broke the game. I get heavy visions of blue mist, water, and ice with this track… If heaven has a song… ❤ 🔥 🛌 goodnight everyone
this is song is opn:s masterpiece. there is just so much force in this. its like the swan song of every being that has ever lived on earth, every civilisation that has come and passed, every mountain and every ruin that slowy is blown to dust, history of terran life that one day will come to an end
I honestly think this is one of the greatest pieces of music recorded this century. So much is done with so little - it's like one beautiful chord change stretched out by time dilation.
@@thesprawl2361 its irrational to come to the conclusion that this is the best simply because you found it therefore it must be. it may be the best feeling youve found which is great we all have different opinions i remember when i first heard "boring angel" its surreal but i found other tracks from aphex twin and recently rediscovered right where it belongs by nin theres a lot of great music and feelings but be aware how complex life is
Early 2011, when it was still cold out, I had an afternoon in NYC to wander around and I was obsessed with this track. I jammed my noise canceling in-ear headphones in, put this on repeat and walked around Midtown and Times Square with this blasting over and over. Seriously I doubt my feet touched the ground for a good hour or more.
Wow. Incredible. This is the kind of stuff I see when I sit down, put on the big headphones and have a spiritual session with myself. It's almost like my inner eye is being projected on RU-vid. Great job!
I smoked dmt while listening to this song and it was one of the most overwhelming experiences of my life. It felt like I was dissolved and expanded across a huge distance and time, then very slowly reintegrated back into my consciousness. It was like a wave spreading across a flat beach and then being pulled back to the ocean. It scared the shit out of me tbh, but this song is still incredible
it evokes those images through which other dimensions can be seen, the feeling that stands behind it, stands on the periphery of vision, noticed, draws in, into the wonderful beauty of re-remembering everything and recognizing that which has never been forgotten...melting, merging
I wish Oneohtrix would go back to his new age ambient and drone. I don't know if he thought it was a dead end or his interests moved on from Replica onward, but there is much more to be explored.
my favorite song ever made and one of the best songs ever recorded, unreal on new levels and broke the rules for what i considered music could be - shaped me...
The melody only really emerges about five minutes in - up until then it's just hints of it. But you need to rechannel your melodic expectations with this: the melody is just as beautiful as, say, Perfect Day, or A Day In The Life, it's just enormously more subtle and stretched out.
@@thesprawl2361 I actually like the first 5 minutes more than I do the rest of the song, i only find it hard to process if i skip to points in it. >it's just enormously more subtle and stretched out. yeah, i agree. it's like, to fully appreciate it, you have to listen to it in its full context, its arc is only detectable if you invest yourself into it.
myself.shoot=function(object){this.killWith(object,this.items.find(item=>item.type==firearm));}; try{myself.shoot(myself);}catch(e){e=String(e);myself.say("I can't because "+e[0].toLowerCase()+e.substr(1)+".");}
Hi Steven, I am a young filmmaker working on my first project, actually entitled Physical Memory. It's the story of a computer that suddenly starts having flash backs to organic memory, and fleeting instances of human feeling. I was wondering if I could use the animation in your video for the film? You will receive credit of course.
Is that the Microsoft Windows NT startup sound? Also on my channel it says "An error occurred. Please try again." and I have 0 subscribers. RU-vid scares me.
I heard this on some shitty magazine free CD compilation and I've been haunted by it ever since. I've listened to some of his other stuff and none of it has struck me as half as interesting or beautiful or elegant.
