I have a 7T, same display proportion 1080p. What I love about the 7T's camera is that it leaves room for editing. Additionally, in Pro mode, you get some amazing 48 mp results even in low light. This 10 Pro processes well. It sharpens and is slightly less red so it doesn't really leave room for editing beyond colour...

I'm still rocking my OnePlus 6. Dash charge and oxygenOS were the best features, plus it had great specs for the price when 128GB storage and 8GB RAM were rare, and the headphone jack was nice even though I went to bluetooth headphones early. None of the reasons I chose that phone apply to their newer models, and with the Samsung OneUI looking nicer than ever and honestly even iOS making some steps in the right direction, there's more and more reason to go for one of the major players next time round

I'm in the exact same boat. I started with the OnePlus One, loved that phone for 4 years and then picked up a OP6 256GB right as the last few units were being sold here before they moved on to the 6T lineup. And I've loved the OP6 these last 3 years as well. The battery, the RAM, the massive storage, the headphone jack, oxygen OS. Even after 3 years this thing is still going strong. I'm so thankful I got it when i did as I think it's the last good OnePlus device. Unfortunately, the OnePlus brand has gone very downhill since then and I don't see myself ever getting another one of their phones. They had something special going and they ruined it. They Settled.

I remember wanting a Oneplus 5 so bad when I was younger, I had a Samsung note 2 at the time and not much money to buy a phone off plan. Finally bought the Oneplus 6 and felt in love with the brand. They became "something else" after 6/6T I think. Price remained under 550 until 6T (in their first Target market, India). After that, it kept jumping their prices and design had already became very "modern" by 6. It just became another flagship phone with that 749$ price tag on 7. I loved every second of my oneplus 8T, right up until yesterday when i updated it to oos12... Holy moly... My phone is 50% bricked. The change is so drastic going into the Oppo-Rebranded color OS, even the software engineers must have been surprised. Cuz' the phone somehow lost features with the update. Some notable issues: - The haptics have completely changed, vibrations feel like a 50€ phone now - The screen has gotten noticably dimmer - The fingerprint reader has changed, and fails to work around 1 in 4 times of use - They forgot to update the fonts/widgets, so using the Oneplus font, doesn't show the Oneplus font and widgets look like oneplus widgets, until dragged unto your background - Some system settings do nothing, because they are overwritten by new Color OS settings which you can find elsewhere in the menus - Gestures have gotten noticably less accurate, feeling more like a 100€ budget phone in terms of responsiveness - We've now got a combined 5 mental wellness modes?!?!: Zen mode, Bedtime mode, Work mode, Life mode & Focus mode ON TOP of the Vibrate/Silence slider -- Who needs that many modes?! - You can no longer remove certain google features like Discover Frankly, I am gutted. It honestly, truly - from the bottom of my heart - feels like my 550€ phone got turned into a 150€ budget device. Hopefully this is just my phone acting strange after the update, and no one else has to live with some of these issues.

If OnePlus released a new 7 Pro with updated battery and camera tech, I'd be all over it! The OnePlus 7 Pro was the peak. It was one of the best phones ever made. Since then, OnePlus hasn't been terrible, it's just been fairly generic. "Meh", compared with its competitors like Xiaomi.

Almost everyone in the comment section can agree that the OnePlus 7 Pro could be one of the best phones ever created or at the very least OnePlus best phone it ever made. The hidden camera and notch less/punch hole less display is amazing! Yes, the pop up camera is prone to last a short amount of time if used a lot, but honestly I am too old to take selfies that I have only used it a few times and it was only to show it off to people. This is the only phone that got me to buy an android instead of an apple after owning an iphone for years. I love this phone and will not get rid of it until a phone with a camera like the one one the 7 Pro comes out. Enough said!

Same, one thing that gets me with every single phone is that none is doing cutout-less screens, I've been holding onto my 7 pro still just cuz there are no front camera cutouts or notches, it bothers me so much and every phone now just doesn't catch my eye, it just brothers me how these big companies haven't solved this problem yet, and honestly the 7 pro did it so well but yet they ditched the one thing I loved about the phone, might get the red magic 7 pro now as the camera is under screen, but worried it won't work well on Verizon, that's another pet peeve that we can't use non US phones without sacrificing signal, honestly phones aren't as advanced as people think I see a lot of problems while most companies just fight for better cameras which isn't even that noticeable at this point cuz they are all really good cameras😒😩

One important detail to add is that the ultra wide camera on the 10 pro unfortunately uses a smaller sensor than last year's oneplus 9 pro. A few OEMs tried that but it did not go well for them. I assume that it increased production costs and that failure rate on the manufacturing line along with weak uptake in the market made it a loser for One+? These gimmicks come and go, but moveable parts is not a good idea with a phone used 24/7 that needs water resistance.

@@andyH_England exactly, I knew from the start that the “pop up camera” was a flashy gimmick. Just like foldable phones. The technology should be used for something else. Not a device, that like you said is used close to 24/7, being tossed in cars, bags. Dropped onto the floor in water and etc. any mechanical parts, and that small, is not a good combo

Why are the majority of tech reviewers so hard on OnePlus phones yet completley ignore Google Pixel's shortcomings? The Tensor chip is a real problem and gets ridiculously hot. That alone should be a deal breaker. I had to trade in my Pixel 6a after a couple of months because it would actually burn my hand using it to do basic things like browsing Gmail.

Pretty much, the One Plus seems to be a nice "starter phone" or "basic android" with everything you would want to get started with an Android phone. Has a lot of good pros and not too many cons which is great if your looking for an Android. Great video and awesome review Marques, keep it up !!!

I'm still using the OP7 pro, hands down the best phone I've ever owned, the display on it is beautiful and there simply hasn't been another phone to come out since that's been enough of an upgrade to convince me to switch. That's not to mention that I can't imagine having to go back to a hole punch display. Sure on paper newer phones and processors have better performance but in real world use I can still play any game maxed out also games and media look great on this notchless display, and as a bonus I don't have the excessive heat issues of newer more powerful chips. Plus the stereo speakers sound great. As for OnePlus themselves...I think they peaked with the OP7 pro and have been going downhill ever since. When I do finally part with this phone I know for certain that I won't be getting a OnePlus. I don't think my battery has degraded as much as some others have but I'm certainly considering having a new battery installed and continuing to use this for another couple of years. Hopefully by then someone will have developed a decent under display camera to allow me to not have to compromise on a hole punch display.

@@metalhead11t6 That sucks man, I have heard it to be an issue on some of them, I had an issue about 8 months in where the screen developed a dead 'purple' pixel which very quickly started spreading and appearing all over the screen but fortunately I was able to have the screen replaced under warranty and it's been great since(touch wood). I know for myself in your situation I would likely get the screen replaced but understandably bad screen burn in likely doesn't instill confidence. If you upgraded to a different phone what did you end up going with? Just out of curiosity.
