I got a question my phone doesn't even show anything no app or anything on my second user on the one plus 5 even tho there was already apps in there and I played them. Please let me know how to fix it.
mate you just saved my ass. Changed a screen on this fucker n it then decided to not turn on. Customer needed her data off the phone. the reboot option in this mode allowed the phone to boot into the os and then into my pc and got the data off. Thanks brother!

An update won't wipe out Recovery Mode. So even if you get stuck, you can still boot into Recovery Mode. Once you get stuck, press and hold the Power button for 5-15 seconds. As soon as you see the phone has rebooted, follow the steps in this tutorial
you don't lose any apps or data JUST by booting into or out of Recovery Mode. in order to lose your apps/data, you have to do a factory data reset FROM recovery mode
I used to unlock my oneplus 5 with fingerprint. I forgot the pin. I am not able to unlock my mobile now. If i use this recovery mode, what will happen to my data? Will it get booted without losing data?
Just booting into recovery mode will not make you lose your data. But it's not going to help you recover your pin/pattern/password either. You can, if you want, boot into recovery mode and do a factory reset. That will make you lose your data but then you can get back into your phone (assuming you know the Google account password).
Hi, for a few months I got the habit to unlock my OP5 with fingerprint. Came the day when I restarted my phone, and discovered that in this particular circumstance OP5 requested my digital password, which, stupidly enough, I completely forgot (it was rather long and complex...). Your interesting tutorial says that in such a case the solution would be to launch recovery mode. Unfortunately, the OP5 by now, on launching recovery (after pressing both Volume Down and Power buttons) displays a keyboard and to bypass the keyboard and go ahead you have to type your unlocking password... Under the keyboard is some "Forget password" option, I must say I dared not click on it for the time being... Any suggestions, advice ? Thanks.
I haven't experienced this password locked recovery before, but I don't see why there would be any reason to not trust a 'forgot password' option if it's the stock recovery.
hey man....my 5t is not accepting my pattern in recovery mode...please help. I always used to clear my cache in the recovery mode. And damn sure that my pattern is correct...even then the phone not accepting...PLEASE HELP

I've been facing a little bit of touch issues from the last update. Sometimes it lags, sometimes it will freeze for 5 mins and sometimes more than hours. But this time it just stopped working at all. it's been more than 48hours and my phone screen is just frozen. but the phone is working, showing calls, messages, and stuff. I've restarted my phone n number of times, still the same issue. Tried going to safe mode and check if i can clear cache files and all, But there also it asks for the pattern password, which obviously i can't put. And i can't even get factory rest done also because i've some really important stuff in my device. And have no backup. Really Disappointed! Whats the solution?
Sometimes OTA updates just go bad. I would boot the phone into recovery mode like the video shows, and then do a factory reset (you will lose all of your data this way, so backup as much of it as possible). That should fix the issue
no, recovery mode is not for "recovering data". it's more for recovering from a bad OS filesystem (as you can factory reset to get booted back into Android)
It happened to me a few days ago. My OnePlus said "initializing Device." And a few moments later, I added my google account that already existed, and it asked if I wanted to recover the stored applications. That's if your goggle account is backed up. I pressed yes, and I got everything back
this is not working for me..I'm getting Pattern/Forgot Password screen.. Please help as I want to bypass password/patter screen. I forgot pattern and now all I want is to unlock my phone without losing data
I can suggest but I don't know will it work or not so what you do is that before installing stock recovery remove your pin lock from your op5 which you used to open your phone, once you remove pin lock then you flash stock recovery as said in the video see if my solution works or not...

I had the same thing. I'm assuming you have figured it out now but if not, just type the password that you use to unlock the phone, even if its a pin, just put it the numbers.
I got the same problem, and it happens I intended to launch recovery mode precisely because I forgot my unlock password ! Entering the SIM Pin doesn't help. There is a "Forget password" option under the keyboard, but I am a bit affraid of what will happen I i click it. Any idea ?
The process of booting into and out of Recovery Mode will not touch your data at all. Now, if you do a factory reset while in Recovery Mode, then yea, your data will be gone. But simply booting into and out of Recovery Mode doesn't touch your personal data.
