The Mi Mix 2 sports a near bezelless design up front with a 5.99" Full HD IPS LCD display and a beautiful ceramic back, while the OnePlus 5T has anodized aluminium all over it with a 6.01" Optic AMOLED display up front.
The Mi Mix 2 sports a single 12 Megapixel camera with F2.0 aperture and 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization, while the OnePlus 5T has dual cameras to the back - a 16 Megapixel F1.7 primary camera and a 20 Megapixel F1.7 secondary camera, both with Electronic Image Stabilization.
Both phones are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chip. While the OnePlus 5T comes in two variants - 6GB RAM, 64GB Internal Storage & 8GB RAM, 128GB Internal Storage, the Mi Mix 2 comes in only one variant - with 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage.
The battery capacity of the OnePlus 5T stands at 3300 mAh, while that on the Mi Mix 2 is rated at 3400.
The OnePlus 5T runs on Oxygen OS 4.7, which is very much close to Stock Android, while the Mi Mix 2 runs on MIUI 9 - a heavy skin with tons of features. Both are based on Android 7 Nougat.

My opinion ( i used both phones for longer period of time ) : Design- op5t nothing special, seen last 3 years in iphones and not inovative , mi mix2 higher quality and premium materials feels much more premium in hand ( ceramic, aluminium and real gold around camera) Screen- IPS or Amoled , its thing of preferance ( i like mix2 since op5t uses shitty pentile matrix on 1080p if they used it like samsung with 2k it would look much better since pentile reduces actual ppi by 33%) Specs- same cpu ram storage , mix2 ceramic back doesnt get warm at all but op5t just slightly also not that noticable Battery-mi mix2 lasts little bit longer even without amoled maybe due to better software optimisation Camera- op5t is better , mix2 mid ranged Software- also thing of preferance , i like both miui and cyanogen os ( people shitting against miui and they have never used it..xiaomi became popular due to the ui in first place since its actually good and not shitty chinese copy of other ui-s ) Front camera- similar quality, Mix2 front camera is below but you can flip the phone for the normal use Fast charging- They both have it , minor speed differences Audio jack- op5t has it mix 2 doesnt but they give adapter for free Price - 499$ are both phones on most sites tho in some mix2 is 470$ maybe only for xmas, there are resellers in US and EU so you can always avoid import charges for both phones IF YOU LIKE THE DESIGN AND PREMIUM FEEL AND DONT TAKE MUCH PHOTOS OR CARE FOR THE 3.5MM JACK PICK MIX 2 . IF YOU LIKE THE CAMERA TO BE BETTER AND DONT MIND PENTILE MATRIX OF OP5T SCREEN AND USUAL METAL DESIGN PICK OP5T.

Now that's what I call a decent unbiased review. Great improvement from being a fan boy to becoming a trustworthy reviewer. Good job guys. BTW I would choose the 5T because of the UI. But if the Mi Mix 2 had a better camera (front) & the UI as of Oneplus then the Mi Mix 2 would have been the better choice with that Gorgeous design.

All though, it would be useful if you mentioned the network capabilities as the mix 2 offers a lot more than the one plus 5t, which could be more of a deciding factor than the portrait mode as you mentioned in the video. I have a recently purchased Redmi Note 4 Global and I am very disappointed with an unexpected GPS malfunction (it is very unaccurate ad sometimes cannot properly fix the signal). So regarding brand trustworthiness i go for the 5T.

I got the Mi Mix 2 a couple of weeks before the 5t was released.... I'm enjoying the Xiaomi and battery life has been great.. camera is not major important to me and the few pictures I've taken have been great.. I prefer an AMOLED display for sure but the Mi Mix Is perfectly fine...The 5t is a nice device and Oxygen OS is also nice..guess either device will be fine for most...

It's Oneplus 5t for me... I'm a Xiaomi user so it's kinda hard to admit it but to be honest OnePlus is really value for money at that price point and also a better device than Mi Mix 2.... but as you mentioned Mi Mix 2 has its own USP like unique design in this segment, MIUI experience with 835 under the hood.... these two companies are totally dominating the mid range and budget market & that too for a good reason unlike other big brands out there.... I would go Mi Mix 1 to be honest. Better battery, more wow factor and a headphone jack. Personally I'm not interested in face recognition nor does the call speaker bother me. Do you think that's still a good way to go since we're almost 2018?

Brendan Dijkstra You better buy some tier 1 branded phone at that price. galaxy s7 and lg g6 are available around that price. These phones can't be serviced.

Bhanu Prakash I have used an mi4c and a redmi pro however I have never had any problems with these devices. Mi Mix 1 with the really skin side and top bezels without any plastic between the ceramic and the screen might indeed break much quicker and give some issues. The phone does however look absolutely stunning and still have very decent internals, especially since the mi4c with its SD 808 and 3gb ram has performed good enough for my usage.

Presently mi mix 2 is of levels under 30000 one plus 5T is selling for 38000. Which one to go with? I'm planning to buy one of them but with each passing day I'm becoming more confused. And now there's lg v30+ too . Anywhere I don't want to spend that much on lg v30+ so I'd like to save some money and go for xiaomi Mi mix 2 or OnePlus 5T. Please select one for me.

Have been using 3T for quite a few months. No problems at all, absolutely butter smooth, a very good camera, great design, well done. But stock Android... It is boring! I previously had a Redmi 2 prime for almost 2 years and believe me, it was much more interesting due to MIUI. I hope the next Xiaomi flagship in India has a better camera or dual rear camera setup.

Dashcharge as quickcharge fucks with the battery by heating it up, dashcharge does not heat up the phone at all

In your photos comparison, have you used the same display for showing the photos of both models, or each photo is being showed on the display of its respective smartphone? Of course that, for an actual comparison of the photos quality, they must be shown in the same display (for exemple, on a desktop monitor) or both must be printed on the same type of photographic paper. Otherwise you will be mixing the quality of the photos with the performance of the displays, which is not valid for a correct photos quality comparison.

Mix 2 because brilliant OIS, batter battery and OnePlus has a lesser chance of not keeping promises. Meanwhile, Xiaomi just updated my friend's Redmi 4 (not the Note 4) to Nougat 7.1.2)

Sir, Actually iam using one plus 3 mobile. It is having curved edges. By this when ever i keep tempered glass, it is not covering the whole screen. Now iam planning to buy one plus 5t star wars edition. Is it having the same curved edges problem in it..? Kindly let me. Please

I have try both and if you want to have a better appearance and stylish phone you can go for mix 2 for sure. If you wanna have a better performance and camera , one plus 5t is suit for you, hope it can help:)

Disappointed. No one, literally none of the reviewers talk about the Phone Dialer at all!!!! If it was a comparison you should have also included the phone dialer functionality and difference. I want to know if Video Calling is supported in Oneplus 5T's inbuilt dialer.

well i will prefer 5T more because of build, dual cam setup, close to stock android and still different. and biggest + is screen super AMOLED. even if it has less battery size it will still perform the same as mi mix2 or could be better with black backgrounds or black theme.
