I have the OnePlus 5. I just love this phone. It's been with me for 3 years and I'm sure it would last another year easily. OnePlus quality is really impressive.
I'm looking forward to the 8t- as soon as it comes this oneplus 6 in my hand will be wiped and rooted for the newest security patches. She'll be round 'till it aggravates me.
@@enescalskan3985 the selfie camera seems to do very well, as for the main camera, im not impressed overall. If outside in great daylight it will take nice pics....otherwise not great
@@shivamkrishn nah, at night I'm not using the 65 watt charger. I'm just using a samsung normal usb c charger. I use the 65 watt just for like 15 min during the day as needed
Hello Michael I'm from India 🇮🇳 I just ordered the oneplus 8t after seeing your review! Probably it will be delivered by tomorrow. You made my confusion clear about its camera as the most of the RU-vidrs are actually criticizing its camera but I found your review to be more honest and reliable that helped me to take the decision. Thank you for your great work and the errort! Good luck for your career. ❤
Great video man. I've watched a lot of content for the 8T and this is easily my favourite. So good, in fact, that I'm about to order one. Keep up the great content!
I dipped my toes in the premium phone game when the xs max in 2018 and it's definitely something special but that could also just be my first ios device. Did well for the 2 years on and I recently switched to the OnePlus 7 pro just because at 445 new and no notch. It's a steal with a snap dragon 855, eight ram, 256 gig storage. I can't believe I spent 1,100 on a 64 gig device looking back on it. It's still a good back up phone.
Man when the video finished I looked to number of subscribers you have and, because seeing the quality of the video I was thinking it would be like 100.000 to 200.000 and now I'm so impressed. Well, now you have a new one, nice video
U earned a new subscriber.. I m really amazed at your details of reviewing U deserve more recognition Watching your review making me wanna buy a op 8t .
Cheers ✌️ no I don't use a teleprompter but I did think about it. and came to the conclusion that it would be better to practise the skill of talking to the camera without one. But still sometimes I dream haha
Great, quality video and review, a youtuber from shenzhen feels like a blessing- From a Beijinger myself. thanks for the vid I'm a 1+ 7 pro user, still fast and performing like new, gifting the 8T and this made the decision easy. Edit: God I miss shenzhen (fave city in the zhong) these photos !
Do not forget to tell something about many problems in many countries with 5g connection. Where other brands works 8T not or very often disconnect from 5g . We can read many reports in 1+ forum.
Cool video!! Very intresting and well made. I was wondering if the cellphone has ever overheated or if in general there has been excessive heating during your use. Does the phone dissipate heat well or it suffer of overheating? Thank you
Hey thanks Marco. I did have a few problems with overheating when charging the 8T when I first started using it. However OnePlus have been pushing some really nice updates every week which specifically addressed these problems. Apart from that I have had no problems although i'm not a heavy gamer!
So the resolution can play content in HDR? You mention that you miss the high resolution but then right after said Netflix and RU-vid plays crispy HDR+ content. 2:43 mark. For me, if I’m getting this screen size, I need decent quality. I know there are qhd phones but this one seems nice. And umm get new friends lol Your review was very timely because for 1 it’s recent vs weeks ago, and I’m looking to get this. Great review.
@@MichaelElsegood 👍 Great! I see that the 7T Pro Mclaren is available as well. Thanks for your response. I only wanted to make sure I heard you correctly so that is why I gave a time mark. 👍🙂
I'm planning to buy OnePlus 8T but I saw many reviews, actually they are confusing me from my decision.. you are the one who clearly clarified me.. now I'm ok.. great review bro.. keep it up.. subscribed
Yeah Why not ...then people should wait for October 2021 and at that time you will get more good specs for your 9t and may be will get chipset of 888 processor.....😂
Hey thanks, you can download the OS on the OnePlus website via the software updates page, just choose your phone and the latest update file. BTW new video coming soon about the 8T!
Camera is not that much when compared to iphone 11 if camera was your first choice choose iphone 11 bro if not one plus 8t is worth money for its display 65 watt charger 120hz display gaming experience etc
The only thing keeping this phone from being a THE BEST phone is the camera, under great lighting it's BEAUTIFUL, in not well lit areas it suffers. But honestly, I love this phone. Just switched from the 7t Pro to the 8t and I don't have any issues with it. I even own the iPhone 12 and I prefer my 8T
Great video! Really liked the opening shots, especially the one with the river! I have ordered my 8t a couple of days ago and i am just so hyped for it!
@@MichaelElsegood ohh man I wish I could have gotten that one. I never seen it in Europe but probably just missed it. Looks like I'll get the 8T after seeing your review. I'm a fan of the flat screen :)
Hello Michael the video was fantastic. I love it🔥... I have a question.. Is it still worth to buy one plus 8t now.. If the one plus 9 is waay expensive
@@MichaelElsegood hey man one plus is finally out now... Can you tell me.. Which is best to be considered.. One plus 8 pro vs one plus 9(by price and camer sensors)..... One plus 8t vs one plus 9R( specs and same sensor)... Can you telle which would be best?
Yeah fair enough, it has fallen behind a little bit obviously because of it's age but I still maintain it has good capabilities for the price. Thanks for watching!
Just wonder after few month using 8t did you guy hear about screen burn, motherboard burn, or any problem about this phone?? If not this is a good phone..right??
whats your opinion on the asus zenfone 7 pro? i was gonna get that for 2650 aed (600 euros) but decided to get the oneplus 8t (12-256) instead for 1800 aed (410 euros). The price differene was mainly because I live in the UAE and also beacuse both phones were discounted heavily on Black Friday. Do you think I made the right choice?
The Acer is ok, the flip cameras are not improtant for me personally. I think you made the smart financial choice getting the 8T at €410. I think it's the better phone of the two in terms of camera, pefromance and software.
Just a note, the charger is not for free, you paid for it and everything is in that box. Only Apple considers that you don't need a charger for those 1xxx $.
Yes you can download it from the OnePlus website, download on your computer . The file will be quite large. Then connect your one plus to your computer and drag across the file into the filing system on your phone. Disconnect from your computer. Go into your phone and do the software update. And then click on it. It will install and then you will have the global version. This method is not risk free. But the risk is low. I have done it five or six times on different one plus phones.
Both are good choices. In this case I think it will come down to which operating system you prefer. Apple has a strong eco system but it’s more closed off. Android is open and you are far more free to move around in it.
If your priority is the camera then go on iphone 11. But consider that the difference is more noticeable on videos than photos, and that iphone has a low screen resolution (only 720p) and ips display. I think you have to consider which os you prefer. Both phones are durables.
@@danielvargo4498 it’s true Apple are consistent with their eco system and android is more open, I like to have a mixture of both iOS and Android. So iPad and OnePlus for me
The 8T has been a pleasant surprise for me. I never considered it originally and was using an S20 FE, but I lucked into a free 8T and started using it for fun not intending for it to replace the FE. But replace it it did, as I've found the 8T to be superior in every way except camera zoom capabilities (regular and ultrawide are only a bit worse, but on par to the FE when using a GCam mod). While I worry about the future of the phone due to the direction Oneplus is going as a company, I will stay with it for the time being.
@@MichaelElsegood First things first cheers mate for replying and yes i can never forget what that place has done to me and lot of other people and kudos on the video mate, its really great.
samsung's ui just blows. that and the lack of development did it for me. t-mo was basically giving s20 fe away for free, so i looked into it, but still have nightmares from the note i had with touchwiz lol
I am lucky to own 8T @ 299$. Even after 2 years launch this works perfectly fine and I don't see any issue. Warp charge is amazing. Processor is super fast. Being a apple user it gives different feel in one plus. In terms of speed and functionality one plus had a edge over apple.
Yes I can't believe how quick it feels after 2 years. Faster than nearly every other flagship I've used. Incredible. Can't believe they've abandoned this approach. I will not be buying any of the newer models. Vivo are a much more interesting brand for me now.
There's a Gcam mod for sure, I have it on my OnePlus 8. It takes a little tinkering to get it working but not too much hassle to be fair. Although saying that, for general usage I don't feel like there's any real noticeable benefits from it for a casual user like myself. If that's your thing then yeh, sure you'll probably pick up on those subtle differences more than me.
I'm using Gcam on OnePlus 8t and it's absolutely fine and give the finest quality campair to others. OnePlus can do better in dynamic rang for photo quality later by software update patches.
@@kishorbhat I haven't found a GCam mod that properly works with Android 11. I mean the one I downloaded doesn't switch between lenses and crashes. The indoor pictures are way superior compared to the stock camera in most situations. I don't know what happened but after the OxygenOS 11 update the camera quality in indoor situations are terrible. It was terrific prior the update. Several bug fixes hasn't improved the camera quality. So, I need a working alternate. Talking about Oneplus 8 though.
