I live in Canada and have this hot tent we was out in the field a mild storm blew in well mild by Canadian standards hahahahaha Nice design leaked like a sive the hook dripped all night steady but was able to tie some para cord to give the water a different path to travel have tried to contact Onewind several different ways and still no reply not looking to complain looking for a solution. Great video BTW.

Trick I learned a long time ago about those tents. Set them up and then build the frame on the inside while the stove is heating up. That way the ground can get softer and help you clear out more of the ground when you put the frame up. Otherwise, as the frame is digging into the ground and the ground heats up the frame will sink down and everything will be sagging, and you will be trying to fix it throughout the night. Or, you can go out hunting and come back and the tent will be collapse in on itself.

@@james_lessick892 you want to build a frame to those tents because the guidelines will not hold up to snow or freezing rain.

@jem6205 I've never once had a problem with my guy lines in any weather. Why would you build a frame for a tarp? Sounds like a huge waste of time and energy and good wood you could be burning to stay warm. Build a frame under a camping tarp? Wtf? 🤦🤦

The thought of Hot Tent Hammock Camping never even crossed my mind. It sounds so extravagant it reminds me of the time I cooked a steak and played games on a portable Play Station during a 4-5 hour power outage with actually more ambient light than normal... and forgot to close the blinds.

Hey Blackie- that is quite the tent you have there and looks plenty roomy. Looks like it could be configured in a few different ways as well and would make a great sitting area for whittling or whatever. You could probably put 2 cots in there on each side too. Look forward to see that stove get fired up and see how warm it stays inside- use a thermometer on the inside and outside when you do to capture the temp difference. Thanks for the info- You and Mrs Blackie be safe out there-

I'm impressed... that's a very well thought-out and executed design. Perhaps future versions might offer an option of side "windows" of mosquito netting with roll-up covers like for the hot pipe opening. $199 seems quite reasonable. Time & use will tell. I still have the 11ft extra wide hammock and accessories in my cart. I hope OneWind continues with good products, QC, and keeps its prices affordable as they are now !

they offer a screen house which is a huge mosquito net that would work with this

@blackoracle69 For me, a more convenient option with these affordable lightweight hot tents would be a built-in zippered bug net behind at least one of the door openings.

Blackie, for a tent and even a tarp fly I prefer to support the item using and external ridge line, with the main reason being to stop the ridge line chaffing the inner material and encouraging leaking. Of course best if there is a centre or other intermediate support loops to help prevent sagging.

I'm quite sure BLACKIE would be more concerned about in-coming fire, than we need to be! Yeah that big a TARP for $199. would be a fair deal, but a pipe-jack equipped wall tent, that roomy? Waiting with interest for your after action report, with the stove. Thinking I would cobble a stove together, out of a gas bottle, but the system looks good. Now to test it!

If you rolled up the flap over the stove jack so the roll was on the top, it would act as a gutter and let the water go to the left and right of the opening and stop water going into the hole.......perhaps.

Blackie. Wouldn’t it be unwise to cook food inside your tent in predator country ? Boil water yes ok but actual food wouldn’t that be inviting unwanted guest during the night ? 😊
