It never fails to astound me how quickly Ding Dong can go from a serious tone to an over the top goofy tone. Chris is always kind of out of it, Julian is pretty neutral, but Dingus has like a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on.

The concept of Slam City isn't terrible, the real issue here is a clear lack of direction, lack of explanation of how things work and the game lacking context on what you're supposed to do. When you really get down to it, this is like a weird version of Dragon's Lair. The game is expecting you to do specific things but isn't providing any context on what it wants. If they had maybe made the controls and mechanics more clear and obvious it wouldn't have been so bad. Of course, thinking about it, the lack of direction and context is probably what the developer wanted, maybe to make it "harder". Weaponized incompetence is a terrible thing.

I swear when I saw the video I thought it said "Oney Plays Sim City" I looked at the thumbnail and I was so confused. please play SimCity

The respect meter is part of the game. Its how much respect the makers of the game have for the people who forced them to work on this.

Trust me even at the time this game came out no one was saying "this is amazing" we knew it was a crappy gimmick
