I'm sorry but 3:50 to 6:12 gotta be one of the BEST martial art sequence I've seen in any action movie. Amazingly choreographed, superbly shot and the fight itself relentless that you can't help but applaud the stunt team and Tony Jaa! Fucking awesome!!!
The pauses between combinations, and general hesitance of opponents to exploit opportunities to attack are obvious signs of choreography. At the level of skilled dancing, performed by martial artists, I can agree it is an enjoyable spectacle. It is by no stretch a martial arts sequence, but rather a sequence which includes martial arts.
I watch this movie when I was a 8 years ... Now I was 20 years nothing change my mind for this movie👍👌 still beautiful ever .....Tony Jaa greatest fighter actor
The fight scenes in this movie are unique. The combination of varied martial art forms is exciting to watch. Also, the fact that these techniques and weapons were the most intrinsic methods of combat in those times hits you like nothing and urges you to learn more about it. Thanks to Tony Jaa & team for giving us this stunning movie.
One thing that made this scene even better is the fact that the mercenaries were coming at him with all kinds of weapons from every corner of Asia: Katanas, tantos, Kamas, Kusarigamas, Ninja Claws, push daggers, tridents, spears, Chinese straight swords and broad swords, triple staffs, Guandaos, Indian Falchions, scimitars...and overgrown fingernails too lol
@@NoName-gp8il yeah I've seen probably hundreds at this point and you're absolutely right. The choreography is amazing and so fast and powerful-looking. Beautifully done
I've seen a lot of fight sequences in my day because you have the big 3 Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, and Jet Li even Donnie Yen but when I first seen this fight sequence I was blown away, I couldn't say nothing!
5:12 There's a fun little detail if you pay close attention to Tony's hands and movements. He makes more of a claw fighting the guy with the spike gauntlets to grab and restrain the movements of his arms to avoid the spikes and instead of trying to attack his padded armoring, he instead opts to go low and target his lesser protected legs. Meanwhile he transitions back to his more normal blunt style, closed fists again, and he is focused more on the torso of the guy with no armor at all. And he just casually switches it up in tandem of engaging the two guys. I love the little details like this. :p
Lol, he's just switching martial arts between kung fu(tiger fist) to Muay Thai, he is using the tiger fist when he fights the claw guy and then switch to Muay Thai when face the other guy and vice versa. Don't complicate things
@@richardrackley2430 Just impressive that he can do that simultaneously, fighting two people at once with two different styles without missing a beat. 😆
Different from his earlier movies, I found him already learnt Chinese martial art and incorporated some of the techniques into his Thai mma techniques. Quite impressive indeed.
No lie. Seriously. It's actually professionally voted by many critics, surveys, personnel etc as one of the best fight sequences ever and all time in a movie. Unfortunately, there are sooooo many other Thai movies that probably are 30x greater but never got international recognition
4:40 is so intense those Muai Thai positions, the Ba Ji Quan at 5:48 to Bagua at 5:53 using Tiger and Crane with the most powerful ending on Ba Ji Quan at 06:09 omg so sweet, God, I miss these type of movies. 6:39 is unbelievable, the damage. Now his weaponry mastery is fantastic, that's how you do it 7:14 is not just a weapon because, is an extension of his spirit, pure emotion, trichaku was masterful teasing the extensions, 8:22 Jian is so damn fluid, beautiful and elegant look at 09:40 this is how it should be used combined with agility, precission and speed 8:44 Taijijian as its purest combat form, every weapon teases another one, the Trichaku the Kusarigama which was fantastic and the Jian with the Daos. The elephant part is just super cool, the enemy that fights with that shitty crane style was awesome and the way he removes the protection by taking possesion of the elephant is incredible, this movie is gold.
This has got to be one of the best fighting sequence in a martial arts action film ever made. Tony Jaa demonstrates his fighting skill further. We were already blown away and amazed by his speed, agility, stamina and strength in the first Ong-Bak movie and his other movie Tom Yum Goong aka The Protector aka Warrior King. Now, we get to see him push it further in this film by demonstrating his usage of different weapons! He shows the skillful and masterful usage of a sword, three-section staff, rope dart, Muay Boran and some kung fu techniques. It's so satisfying to see him take down these ninjas who are also just as skilled if not more skillful than him. This film to me is legendary status in the martial arts and action cinema genre!
Man I almost lost my shit when he switched his style for a little before switching back. I love when fighters do that. Exercise all the styles they know.
Can we appreciate that there are like 5 final boss level villains in one fight scene... All cool with very different fighting styles.... Best fight scene of all time, beats Jet Li's Fist of Legend finale
My favorite martial arts heroes are Bruce Lee in Fist of Fury, Boyka in Undisputed 2, Tony Jaa in Ong Bak 2 , Iko Uwais in Raid 2 and Donnie Yen in IP Man 1. My most favorite are Bruce Lee since he can kill with one punch in Fist of Fury while Tony Jaa in Ong Bak have so many moves in his arsenal and can use different kind of weapons accurately.
You seen ong bak 1 it was awesome. If you haven't you should see the movies chocolate and bangcock knockout those movies have awesome mui Thai fight scenes as well
9:14.Rope dart is extremely difficult to learn and master, but this guy uses it like a pro. Tony is very talented. I learned about the art from scorpion MK and Jinfeng from Sifu. P.S. The rope dart sound effect 9:19 to 9:21 sounds just like scorpions classic MK2 get over here spear attack.
The 3-sectioned staff is even more difficult to master. When I first saw this scene with him using the weapon like that, I knew he must have mastered every weapon.
I have ONG-BAK 1 - 3! But from the fight scenes I love Part 2 mostly! How Tony Jaa use 2 STYLES vs his opponents...incredible skills! Muay Thai Boran,Hung Gar Gung Fu and WUSHU! That's the reason how he can fight with almost every kind of weapon! I love THIS FINAL SHOWDOWN!!!
My first time watching this film, I knew nothing about it. So imagine the levels of increasing appreciation and satisfaction experienced as the movie unfolded and expanded in scope while maintaining such compositional beauty and impeccable pacing throughout. All this carried by a beautifully layered story and an array of unique and fascinating characters. truly impressive film achievement! One of a few of the most intelligent martial arts films ever done, in my opinion. And I’ve seen…lots. All characters are attractive and interesting in their own way. I’m partial to Miss Fang and Stinky Tofu!
Say what you will about his directing, the choreography in this movie is ground breaking. Especially this fight, the masterful use of so many different weapons and styles in a single fight is absolutely insane. Gets me every time!
In this movie he was train to be a warrior since a child. He's adopted father is former assassin and it is the one who killed the real father of Tony Jaa
Wow I never realized I got this many likes on this cmnt. By the way just wanted to add that Tony jaa was a stunt performer before he got his big break. And one of his idols was Jackie Chan. The fight scenes in this movie are amazing. Some of his best work hands down. My favorite part is when he is fighting the two guys on the small bridge and as a huge fan of rope dart, his showmanship is great. There will never be another Tony Jaa..
That's also my fav SCENE! U have 2 watch- 4 opponent on the left side, he uses Hung Kuen Gung Fu! And 4 thee other guy he uses Muay Thai Boran! AMAZING FIGHT SCENE!
This martial arts ancient times in this film they have shown truely real one, hats of to actor who took this much effort to create a craz in audience 🔥🔥🔥🔥😘😍😍there is no words to explain, every martial arts and the weapons ability were showed well 🙏🙏🙏😘😍😍🔥
Intensity, excitement and out of this world energy in this breathtaking and cinematic masterpiece of a movie. The fight scenes, the transitions in and out, the scenery and camera work was absolutely incredible.
This action Sequence Revealed Tony Jaa. SUPREME talents & he directed this. Don't forget when he ran on top of a PACK 🐘. That was real not CGI. Critics hated on him because he went back in time⏳ 🎥 won in the long run💯💯💯💯💯
In my personal opinion I don’t know about any other movies or actors than tony jaa that made Muay Thai popular around the globe. I didn’t or never knew about Muay Thai before I watched his movie ong bak.
This fight scene has all the fighting techniques in any movie history in exception of Jet Li Fearless. The fight chorography was truly epic and this makes it one the best fights I have ever seen in entire movie history.
This particular fight scene pays so much homage and respect to the Shaw Brothers era classics like 5 Dreadly Venoms, Shaolin vs Wutang, 8 Diagram Pole fighter and The Avenging Eagle while outdoing the more modern Jet Li style Kung fu films that came after them.
Learn what the word and meaning of underrated okay? It's not underrated. It's one if not of the greatest Tai action films and key career film of Tony haa. It's highly rated and popular
2 this day, this is my best movie/martial art/animeesic/video gamey scene ever. You hav it all here, the build up, the cheorography, the sound track, the technic, the bloody brilliance of story telling and letting da hero bcome da hero & rise above. Yo Tony Jaa needs mo movies like this. Or even better new bloods need a chance to make a movie like this. This movie is my 2nd best movie of all time and I hope many many mo people get da chance 2 watch it ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
