I love all the subtle bits of continuity like when Coco yanks Mymy's tie you can see her dark roots under the ginger hair, which is characteristic of people from Japsterdam
The attention to detail in these animations is top notch - for example, when Mymy misses her top pocket with her juice carton at 1:20, it's because Coco pops up in the middle and moves her towards the side of the frame. If you put your mouse over her pocket when she throws the carton, it was perfectly on course to land in it.
I know everyone is talking about how relatable the procrastination was, but for me that line about Maya getting suspicious and defensive about Coco wanting to help was what really stung to me. Pride is a powerful thing and makes things harder than they need to be. Love this series, by the way.
it isn't pride in the classical conception, it is the feeling that nobody could want to hang out with you, so she gets suspicious about alteriour motives.
@souvikrc4499 Spot on representation of the negatively focused overthinking and assumptions ADD makes you prone to. And if not a cause of the social anxiety, then certainly compounding it.
Glad to see another episode of Dutch Tomoko. Love it when they occasionally slip into English. "AHH DEE DEE." Also, Coco being helpful and understanding was cute as Hell. Based Coco.
God I love Coco. She is very patient with Maya but also tends to have moments of getting very done with Mymy’s crud. The concentration camp joke she makes and coco just gives her a look of,”Sis. I love you, but if ya don’t stop, no mercy.” 1:38
As a person who has both Autism and ADD, Maya's struggle with the homework is incredibly relatable. You spend the whole time trying to focus on one thing, then you get bored of that thing and do something else until you finally realize: "fuck, the assignment is due in like an hour."
You don't have ADD, school is just boring. The real mental illness would be fitting in perfectly in the hellhole that is modern society. They tried to diagnose me with this made up bs too but I saw right trough it.
Ah heerlijk weer zo'n lekkere aflevering hiervan, dit is zo'n goede series, de animatie is echt smooth as butter. Mymy is echt hilarisch in elke aflevering
Mijn leven is compleet.
@@gerbenvanessen Hard to get into my headspace 3 months ago, but I have a feeling I confused Coco and Mymy because I don't speak dutch and have to orient myself using english subtitles
@@yourfavouritepony ah understandable, coco is the blonde south african, mymy is the japanese with the voc mentality, and maya is the one from North brab... Belgium.
@@gerbenvanessen north was never specified. Since parts of Brabant are Belgian she could also just have a complex about being from a formerly Dutch territory that now belongs to Belgium.
Geweldige aflevering weer!
That was very well animated, and is it me or does the animation improve as the it goes on? Also, I love the bit with Mymy's hair, and I like the detail of her black roots being visible when she lets her hair fall backwards.
Maya immediately shooting down the idea that Coco genuinely wants to spend time with her is really sad. Coco punching Mymy’s hand was pretty funny though lol
You captured the difficulties of this issue really well with Maya. It is really difficult to manage these things, but hopefully her friends will help her come out of her shell a little!
Geweldig!
3:02 I’ve only just noticed that Coco winds up way too hard for the fist bump then in the next shot Mymy is nursing her hand. So many good jokes that fly under the radar
Coco: trying to be a good sister because: 1-She really cares. 2-she really cares. 3-She loves her sister. 4-Coco isn't just a parody of Disney Princess and really just a wholesome character. OR she's a devil in sheep's cloths.
fun fact: 2:53 proves that this is set in 2019, because it's the October the 14th only falls on a monday in 2013 and 2019, but episode 1 shows Maya using brave, which was released in 2019. So if the story gets picked up and animated from where it left off, we're 6 months away from the lockdown.
I love the animation and Mymy is so savage in this one I love it.
