Hi I’ve copied what you have done planting in cells a couple of weeks ago late February, the roots seem to be doing ok the white onions look good the red onions have got a bit of mould near to the soil line what should I do please?
@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk
Try wiping the mould away and give them a few hours in direct sunlight to dry out if it is just surface mould it could be down to poor ventilation If it is White mould and the bulbs are soft then bin them as that can spread in your compost and live for up to 8 years

What about chillies do they need to be in a green house or a house, and do you think they are alright in March to grow thank you for your time to reply

@@Vay..1_1 Hi Nevaeh, I would recommend keeping chillis on a south facing windowsill indoors if you have one, otherwise any windowsill will do, but they grow straggly if they don't have much light. You can move them outdoors gradually, when the risk of frost is over, by leaving them out during the day and bringing them back indoors at night then you should be fine to leave them outdoors in a sunny spot once summer is underway. If you don't have much space in your garden there are all sorts of ways you can improvise a mini greenhouse. I screwed a frame together from scrap wood and covered it in perspex I found dumped behind an estate agents, it was the old display they used to put their house adverts in. If you have the inclination to look around there's an abundance of materials you can make use of in the garden. Good luck!

Oops I am so behind just got a plot at our local allotment. Is it to late to do this method or should I just plant them into the soil now? I will cover them over with fleece to stop birds lifting them. Thank you for taking the time uploading this video very helpful for a newbie.
