Stage V is a real technological advancement on which Visa SpA has been working for several years, dedicating a remarkable effort for its introduction on areas such as design and degrees of performance, cooperating with its partners to design a new generation of machines reflecting higher performance and efficiency than ever before.
Visa SpA has hardly tried to adopt the best solutions to implement the smoothest possible transition between StageIIIA and Stage V. it acted in advance by purchasing a quantity of Stage IIIAa engines from the 2018 and 2019 production to make the transition toward the adoption of the new standards as effective and convenient as possible, offering an effective pathway to Stage V adoption.
It has always been closely cooperated with engine manufacturers and suppliers on the new solutions for generating sets for several years to offer more productive and reliable machinery, with lower through-life costs, being fully aware that many aspects of Stage V technology have a relevant impact on the size, efficiency and costs of compliant machines.
In order to be able to accept the new Stage V compliant engines for non-road mobile machinery, Visa SpA carried out a restyling of the genset structure creating machines suitable to match customer demands for value and innovation to meet the implementation of the new standards: higher performance, different-sized canopies (bigger of more compact), lower noise levels, less fuel, better reliability. New machinery architecture has been developed and provided with a special layout to ensure an optimal air circulation inside the machine; fuel tanks have been restyled as well featuring new capacities and shapes; the space inside the machines has been organized to facilitate ordinary and extraordinary maintenance operations and, at the same time, it has been possible to add customized variants for both mechanical and electrical accessories.
We expect every Stage V project will be unique and developed in accordance with concrete client’s needs, featuring different degrees of complexity and adopting a broad range of options.
Various deliveries with the new emissions standards have already taken place mainly referring to earth moving, mining and mobile cranes sector featuring for example, compact size, high-capacity fuel tanks and significant reduction of noise levels through a high and accurate design.
Thanks to its team of engineers Visa completely supports clients providing information to enable them to select the right solutions and technology for a smooth transition to Stage V.
The new standards may appear complicated but Visa has the long expertise and suitable products to support customers in all the stages of the process and get the better performance and modern technologies on the route to stage V compliance.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STAGE V AND PREVIOUS EU EMISSIONS STANDARDS ?
It’s an evolution of previous standards and requires controls, e.g. diesel particulate filters, to be applied to new NRMM. Stage V will limit carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons, as well as the mass of particulate matter (diesel soot) and number of particles emitted to the atmosphere.
