Without wishing to seem critical or pedantic ,the pipes were never banned under any of the Acts of proscription. Michael...a great talk...& a wee thought about pitch... I was actually glad to see Scotland having to deal with temps similar to ours here in Ontario for once. As you know, we struggle to keep our chanters "balanced" as they warm up & one of the reasons for this is that our chanters are made in Scotland...& not Ontario. It's going to be a while before coconut palms grow wild in Glasgow, but IMHO, warmer weather there, will likely help the development of chanters that are better suited to blast-furnace summers...without turning into dog-whistles.
