Cool Power Plant 🔥 I saw a og copy sell in an auction for four figures ouch I bought a reissue lol great album Humphrey sounds interesting new one for me Nice pickup on the Them album! Record show this weekend in my area Take care Brian ☮️
I’ve got the original of the Power Plant LP. One of my most expensive Discogs buy. It’s a very good LP. I have an album by a group called Lost and Found on the International Artist label. It’s a good LP too.
👋 Hi. I remember that sixties sound , having been alive then. The decade started with Rock 'n ' Roll then progressed into Soul and Funk, Motown then trippy Psychedelic music and commercial Bubblegum . I was young then and enjoyed all those genres. When you shop for records do you have a knowledge of different groups and singers ?. So that you are seeking to find what you want. Or do you buy artists that you don't know .
If it's a glossy cover, then Goof Off might remove the writing. However, since it's a promo, many have writing on them, like radio station call letters, so I'd probably leave it.
Hey man. I've been enjoying your Acid Archives videos. I haven't participated in RSD in years, not interested. Power Plant is incredible, I have a reissue myself, will probably never get to see an original. Humphrey I've never seen. Sounds right up my alley. Great pick up in Them In Reality. Post Van Them is killer. Early Soft Machine is no brainer. Faust definitely influential to many bands. Great pick ups, keep doing the Acid Archives. Peace.
The Golden Dawn album is a classic, just behind "Easter..." as my fave I.A. release. Have you seen the "Dirt Road To Psychedelia" doc? Really cool! Yankee Dollar were pretty cool too. I still need to find their 2nd 45 though!
@@PsycheDerek. Check out the "Dirt..." trailer on Y.T. It was released on DVD. Not too bad from what I remember. Interviews with people involved in the Austin, Texas music scene in the 60's, with a few old clips. Yep, the 2nd Dollar 45 was non-LP. The a-side is so-so, but the b-side "Reflections..." is pretty decent. Both on Y.T.
Greetings Derek, looks like you scored you some great vinyl at the show, Supply, demand & Curve I've never seen in the wild, Hell I haven't seen many that have ever shown it, nice pick-up, nothing wrong with naked pregnant chicks on covers lol, used to see them up in Montana at a truck stop named Fred's outside Missoula, great times 🤣🤣, Golden Dawn sure has gone up in price with the rest of them, speaking of Them, nice promo copy, even with the signature, every time I see one signed that wasn't in the band I say to myself, why, Just why??? Take care man ✌
@@PsycheDerek. ahh, that makes sense, super great grab then, yeah Fred's was like playing Russian Roulette, you were playing with your life most nights LOL!! 🤣🤣
As far as IA Records go, my fave LP at this time is Endle St. Cloud (In the Rain), "Thank You All Very Much" - this wacky, spaced-out (on LSD?) dude is a genius! Has a top-notch back-up group as well! (Have their non LP 45RPM 2-sider, also on IA). ...I'm lucky to also have a promo copy of that classic -2-sider from The Yankee Dollar - now I need the rest of the album! You got a fantastic price for that rare 45 @2.00!
I love the album THEM, “In Reality” other than how it sounds like it was recorded in somebody’s garage with a tape recorder. Did you recognize the riff on Let My Song Through? I’m pretty sure Lynyrd Skynyrd ripped that one off a few years later.
That's the only Them LP that I've never listened to. Is Jerry Cole on that one? That looks like Sharpie on the back of the cover. That will never come off. I have removed Sharpie from LP covers that were laminated. Wipe with some alcohol based hand sanitizer. My copy of The Golden Dawn is the 1988 UK press on Decal. It's a good pressing, sounds nice.
Yeah Dark Side of the Moon 50th year edition come on really we don't need another version of that you know what I'm sayingThanks for the video keeps me inspired
Hell, I'm sick of the original release! NOT in my collection anymore. I'm only interested in their early classic LPs on Tower Records. "Echoes" is OK though!
That looks like the same version of Power Plant that I recently picked up. Them In Reality is one that you don’t see often. Did you get Derek’s autograph?
Derek, I have an original of the Humphrey album and it’s a really good album. Not sure I would go as far as to say it compares to Forever Changes though.
