@@VaporTrailChannel Nahh, they had it for JS11 too. I think the "New" only stands for a new 2024 version in general. Dunno if there's any changes though... looks the same as before 🤷♂
I have a JS32 with Floyd Rose and mahogany body. Pickups are surprisingly good and the neck is very thin and comfortable. These are solid guitars in my opinion.
I just ordered the exact one. Can’t wait til it shows up on Thursday. I’ve got other guitars but I just love the neck profile of these Jackson guitars.
If you tap the bar really quick after a dive bomb it will sometimes go back in tune on the vintage style bridges and on those two point trems. This is not my trick, I started doing it after hearing evh talking about it in an interview. Amazingly it does work lots of the time.
I was looking at these after getting a JS22 last month that I really like. A really interesting thing I noticed is your mention of sting strings!!! My JS22 supposedly came with 9’s too but I thought they were way stiffer than the 9 gauge fenders I use. Glad to know I’m not crazy and someone else feels the same about the Jackson factory strings!
@@piercem26 Awesome! How you liking the JS12? I love that we can find such good guitars at such low cost these days! I've been dabbling in the "budget" guitars for review content on the channel...and just to see how good they are. And, well, because guitars are addictive 😜And I have to say, there are some really great brands / deals out there. Firefly has become a rabbit hole for me for sure. I've got 4 of them in the queue for production right now. An Explorer, a V, an LP, and a Wolfgang EVH striped "tribute". I've also recently bought some tools to do setups and fret work, so I'll be featuring them on here. Thank you again for watching.
I have JS22 Dinky and strings are definitely 9's but those can feel stiff too if no one do any stretch to those. Also locking tuners are maybe not needed if you use the way that some use and strings stay locked. Nut is maybe reason for tuning issues but not sure yet.
These trems were not designed to do huge dive bombs where you're slacking all the strings, they were meant for just some vibrato, not what you were doing.
yamaha pasifik 01 ile arasında kaldım sizce hangisini tercih etmeliyim yeni başlıyorum gitar çalmaya buradaki fiyatları tamamiyle aynı miktarda ve gğrünüşü için bir gitar almayı istemem
The neck looks pretty hefty. This is a very affordable guitar. The Tempest is louder/cleaner and the finish is nicer than the Jackson however it's a major brand name. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent assessment. Neck feel is good, but it’s a bit thick. I just ordered a Firefly guitar and have a Fesley on the way, so we’ll see how they fare. Thank you for watching!
I have one a few years old, it's the most well-built cheap guitar I have. My only gripe is that the strap button screws are really short and thin, so replacing them with straplocks required drilling.
I've heard a lot of people saying that it goes out of tune very easily with the tremolo bar... But I don't intend to use it, does the guitar maintain its tuning well?
It’s not the best tremolo out there, but that’s part of the $160 cost. If you don’t use the trem, it’s very good about staying in tune. If you’re a heavy tremolo user, it’s not the best at staying in tune. You could upgrade that bridge for around $60-100 if you later wanted a more robust tremolo / bridge. But if you have well stretched strings and all that, it’s not too terribly bad to use the trem. Like I said, though, if you’re not a heavy user of the tremolo, you should have no problem keeping that in tune. Thank you for watching!
@@Shooter_FPV there are some nice ones from Wilkinson, Musiclily, Gotoh, etc and most of them can be found on Amazon or even AliExpress for budget prices. Or you could grab a Jackson version that’s better. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻
@@VaporTrailChannel This guitar would be for my son who's just starting to learn, so it would be a future upgrade. I've been out of the music scene so long that I have no clue what's good anymore. I'll check those out. Thanks!
Sorry, I was traveling over the past week. My digital caliper needs a new battery, but measuring it, looks to be about 2 1/8 inches. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻
I was attracted to this video because I have one of the JS22s -- two steps up from your JS11. (There's also a JS12.) I got this guitar because it's Jackson's cheapest way into their Speed Neck profile with the "compound" radius fretboard. The lower two Jacksons don't have that neck. I was curious to see what the JS11 brought to the table. Too bad about the vibrato; that's the product of that Jackson hockey stick headstock. A slicker nut would help that, along with proper slot shaping to compensate for all the strings being pulled sideways instead of straight through.
@@jasujokelainen5073 I just looked up the JS12 on Jackson's website and it says the JS12 comes with a 12 inch radius fretboard. Maybe they once did ship with the "compound" radius board, but not while I've been checking.
@@edwinstovall3334 okay. I've checked thomann's website. There they say that it is compound radius. But of course you are right, Because You've checked straight up Jackson's site.
I thought it might be interesting if you reviewed one of those dh gate guitars that say whatever you want on the headstock ..a "chibson". I've seen and heard enough to peak my interest for at least wall hanging purposes.
After getting rid of all my gear due to financial reasons, I think I’m ready to get back into playing. This seems like a great cheap guitar to begin modding.
First thing I would do is replace the bridge then the pickups then the body along with the volume and tone knobs along with the pickup switch. Then I would replace the neck and frets and nut then I would replace the headstock , the tuners, the strap buttons, strings and then the color 👍🏼
I wish they made them with a hardtail. There's really no point in making metal-oriented guitars with a vintage trem. But well, I guess I can just deck the bridge.
Sorry to hear that. It’s the least expensive, even less than the budget China guitars, that I’ve seen that has quality, so at least it’s more obtainable. Maybe one day you’ll be able to afford one. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻
@@VaporTrailChannel *_Yeah I'm just a poor boy from the poor family. But just like you said one day, I'll have it and I'll work hard to make my dream come true._* 🤝😊👍
I haven't tried the Kramer, but they do make a good guitar. I think they're made in the same factory? Maybe not these two. The Kramer is more rounded and similar to the old Charvel I feel. The JS11 is more angular on all of the edges, has two hum bucker pups, more tonal control, and still has that edgy metal look to it. And the neck on the JS11 is super fast / thin. I can't tell from the images if the Kramer is. It really comes down to your personal preference, but from all of that listed, it sounds link the JS11 may be a better overall value. Hope that helps! If you prefer the body look of the Kramer, you might watch my latest FireFly Guitars review! That even has a Floyd Rose style tremolo / bridge on it and two pups with coil split. Oh, and locking tuners. All for under $200. Just published las week. Thank you for watching!
I still have my late 90s Jackson ps2 made in Japan they used to be great now I'm not to sure the quality since they were bought out years ago . Think fender bought them
No way aTremolofunction will work on any cheap Guitarbrand without any lockingdevice anywhere..It´s just a thing in our "hoping sometime it will work" Guitarhero dreams..🤘☮
I dunno man...I have an old strat that does quite well with staying tuned. But yea, it's pretty rare to find a budget guitar that has a standard trem and stays in tune. Thanks for watching! 😃👍🏻
